Just about every character in there, especially on Marvel side, is in it because a cartoon, movie or comic will be pushed for that character in the next two years. COMPLETELY agree.

UR 100% right.this games roster is a way to make sure that one character dosent get picked more than the otherand more variaty.this game is about favs not the best character.so put lets say a very popular character were in the game like megaman.the game is about favs and megaman is on everyone on the planets fav as a result megaman would be on every ones team.like a godteir character on everyones team megaman would be one everyones team. leave populars out=variaty lol this is what i came up with

He says so because ever since the creator left Capcom, not only do they not put him on Marvel vs Capcom 3, they refuse to put Legends 1 and 2 on XBLA and PSN and they cancelled Mega Man Legends 3 and Mega Man Universe. That was pretty much his take on why Mega Man isn't on the new Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
And yeah, definitely with Venom, he's a favorite of mine. One reason I wanted him in was just cause I'm a Spider-Man fan and I didn't want to see him by himself when all these other series, except Spider-Man and Viewtiful Joe, get two or more representatives for their series. But oh well, it's their game not ours so we really don't have much choice of what to do but just accept the roster lol.
I believe your theory makes full sense man. I mean I'm not going to cry if Mega Man isn't in the game, I agree with the whole best vs. favorites thing. I totally agree with ya man!! I am completely fine with UMvC3's roster! I got Frank West! But alas Nova and Iron Fist look very interesting!! I love your approach to these situations. We honestly need to let MvC3 has it's own aura, MvC1 and 2 imo have two very different auras aside from the sprites that they copied and pasted.
