  • I would wash that hand REAL good. (after the handshake with the peter-puffer movie critic)

  • Hannibal Lector + Terminator = Anton Chigurgh

  • I hate the flashing videos! It's like a virus or something is wrong!

  • i loved the film and found his acting understated which only added to his to the charterer menace

  • I think theres a potential movie in the prequel to NCFOM. Just to find out how Chigurh became who he is.

  • The interviewer is so strenuous.

  • In reality the character Chigurh was so unreal. An intelligent assasin would not attract unnecessary attention to himself by killing almost evryone who crosses his path. The movie lost some realism on that account.

  • That would be accurate if Anton Chigurh was an "intelligent assassin" but as Woody Harrelson puts it he is no more and no less than a psychopath on the loose.

  • @mercmarc

He's not a normal "hitman" though. If anything he likes killing people, and getting paid for certain hits is just a bonus. Like at the start when he gets arrested. He did that on purpose just to see if he could escape, no other reason.

  • @mercmarc I think you would be missing the point though.

You heard what Javier said. Which, by the way , was the best analysis of the character I have heard so far.

Anton is a symbol. The book is about how he and the other two characters cross paths but never really meet.

In a movie or a book, things are supposed to be real until you create a theme, then you start bending reality to fit the message you are trying to portray.

  • @UncomfortableSilence Of course, that would depend on what genre you're writing in. But, yes, in this case I don't think either Cormac McCarthy or The Coen Brothers were attempting to portray Chigurh as an especially 'real' character; he's much more a force of nature. I think it was perfectly gauged, if he was any more or less 'real' then it would've compromised how engaging and utterly terrifying the character was.

  • I wish Bardem had that silenced shotgun to use at the end of this interview.

  • The coin toss scene is definitely a memorable moment. After reading the book by Cormac Mccarthy I can't think of a better actor to portray the character of Chigurh. He embodied the character perfectly.

  • Yup, he crafted one of the most memorable characters in the history of cinema...thx for watching!

  • this is a real man.

  • LOL Man his remark about the Cohen Brother's choice for his character's haircut is HILARIOUS!

Javier: The haircut explains a lot about Anton's character because he's insane if he thinks he can just walk around with a haircut like that.

    I literally died laughing!

  • Watch Full Movies For Fr33 @ watch-movies-free. tk

  • I own this movie and have watched the coin toss scene maybe a hundred times. It gets me everytime. This is a historical performance. I can't imagine it being better. His performance is so real!! This is why it is so scary. This whole movie is real. Of all the movies the brothers have done none of them are this real. Javier, your performance is one for the ages.

  • He makes it believable, like Joe Pesci in "Goodfellas."

  • i'm watching this movie right now

  • I love javier's voice. :)

  • 443-517-3773

    CALL IT!

  • this guy is a stone cold killah....very.very impressive...btw,manny stop flirtin....tone down a litle ....

  • manny the movie guy- your laugh is scaary. even though i kind of like it cause it's funny, it's creeping me out more than making laugh. no offense. but the way javier looks in this hairstyle scares me a lot more than the laugh

  • ha-ha-ha...I'm laughing now...didn't mean to scare you :) thanks for watching!

  • Hahaha who edited this video? "Call it.... friendo". Best line ever to exist!!!

  • best line ever indeed...and I edited this myself :)

    Manny

  • Manny...is...gay? AAahhhaaAAAhahhhAAAAahhhhhhhh! my head just exploded.

Not a bad interview mate. You did good for a short amount of time, asked some meaningful and some fun questions, and got a good reaction. Keep that up.

  • thanks mate...check out my other interviews if you dare :) and thanks for watching!

  • wow, this interviewr is so... how to say that... GAY?

  • breaking news there assemblage23 lol...but thanks for watching!

  • OMG that dude is gay. not Chigur. Chigur owns.

  • Oh no...I've been outed! LOL :) Thanks for watching though!

  • Holy shit......Anton Chigur could TOTALLY take Chuck Norris......

  • That's an understatement. Chuck Norris wouldn't even have time to react.

  • lmfao @ Manny's voice in contrast to Javier's voice

  • hey Manny great vid as always-curious though: how did you get started in talking movies and eventually getting to interview big star actors. Im only curious i love movies and envy the hell out of you! Keep up the good work!

  • Hey there...school, luck, and hard work :) when you can, please check out my website and click about Manny...that should tell you a detailed story on how I got to my point in life :)

Thanks sooooo much, and have a great week ahead!

  • Manny...just calm down a bit man. You're too hyper man, chill it.

  • i wonder how much he was actually...acting. the guy seems naturally creepy to me

  • that guy is gay

  • No really? You gotta be joking! LOL...thx for watching though! Manny

  • tjis guy is sick.. no wonder he got an oscar

  • Javier Bardem still gives me the creeps, even out of character.

  • Thanks so much for your astute observation! I try...and when I do love the movie...I just can't keep my enthusiasm...I was proud to have called Javier Best Supporting Actor months before the Oscars :) Thanks again, and have a great day! Manny

  • Manny Im sorry for the inappropriate comment. Im was a little drunk and feeling nihilistic. I'm Filipino American and share your passion for movies. Im proud of your achievement and I congratulate you.

  • Oh no apologies needed...I was feeling a little nihilistic as well :)

Thanks and have a great weekend!

    Manny

  • What a gay journalist

  • hhmmmm, I'll work on that right away :) Thx for watching though! Manny

  • Look its a Filipino Fag and a Spanish Guy. Rewind 300 or so years and lets see what they do. hahahahahahahha.

  • you have such vivid imagination :) thx for the sub! Manny

  • Maybe you should tone down your homosexuality a bit, if I were Javier Bardem I'd feel uncomfortable thinking you wanted to wolf down my cock.

  • Wow, he didn't indicate that...but, you see what you want to see Krayzie...and no...don't worry, I won't tone it down! Thx for watching though :) Manny

  • nice interview. kudos

  • Thanks bunches :) Have a great weekend! Manny

  • Hi Manny, how are you? Great interview, as always. I watched your interview with Idina Menzel for "Enchanted" and I've been a subscriber ever since.

I've been reading these comments and I'm appalled at how negative they are. Not everyone can talk with the stars about their work. You have exclusive access. Must be jealousy.

And for the record, haters, Javier has played gay before and has filmed some very graphic love scenes with his (male!) co-star. Call him a geek at your peril.

  • I know right? A lot of Javier lovers in here :)

Thanks for your great comment, and have a great week ahead! Manny

  • Wow, I've just been outed! I'm queer? Who knew? I'll work on that right away LOL!

And I "except" you for who you are :)

Thanks for watching as always! Manny

  • You disgust me.

  • what a queer.

  • I can't help it lol :) Thx for watching though!

    Manny

  • haha you're quite a character. great job on the interview. you're very fortunate to have that opportunity.

  • Hey there Trevor :) Thanks, and yes, I'm very, very fortunate to be doing what I'm doing :) Thx for watching! Manny

  • Hace muy bien el papel porque es un psicopata

  • Sin embargo, un psicópata con convicción! eso es más difícil! gracias por mirar! Manny

  • You can see Javier does NOT want to talk to this stupid geek.

  • Aw...I didn't catch that...but great observation :) Thx for watching though! Manny

  • that fucking interviewer fucking head-wrecker.

  • head-wrecker? wow...that's a compliment :) thx for watching though! Manny

  • "if he thinks that he can walk around with that haircut, something is wrong with his mind" hahah thats awesome

  • My God that interviewer is a moron. I think I might even allow myself a bit of traditional American homophobia and call him a faggot. What a faggot.

  • Oh don't be shy and use the F word! It takes one to know one lol :) Thx for watching though! Manny

  • Im certainly a homosexual, its true.

    Have a nice day.

  • :) Have a great day as well! Manny

  • Javier IS the ultimate badass. As for the interviewer, someeone should unload on him with shotgun.

  • Oh yeah, Anton Chigurh did...but I survived lol :) Thx for watching as always! Manny

  • Did Bardem shoot his load in you ass? lol

  • oh how original and clever, um, but no :) sorry to disappoint you! And thanks for watching, as always! Manny

  • he was such a cool character. love that movie man!

  • I love how well Javier understands his character. The responses he gives explain why this character was so effective. He wasn't just spouting lines, he was studying them.

  • holy crap you did such a good job. id be freaking out and stuttering if i was interviewing him. and i loved the comment he made about his hair =D thanks for this

  • Thanks so much! You brightened my day! Have a happy 4th! Manny

  • Most of those interviewing Javier are simply idiots...hair in itself has absolutely no relevance for the great performance of this extraordinary Spanish actor!

  • Correct mariancom, but hair, like costume, is a necessary tool for an actor to flesh out his or her character! Study all the Coen Brothers films, and you'll notice, hair does play an important role...thx for watching! Manny

  • and LOL at people still using the word fag :)

    But thanks for watching! Manny

  • I thought that was a really gd interview, no offence but i thought the one with Brolin was pants

  • Thanks :) Manny

  • Now I'm not trying to be rude or stupid, this is an honest question; is that a man or woman interviewing him?

  • oh no I'm Pat...androgynous :) I'm a boy I'm a boy! lol...thx for watching! Manny

  • i dont get it

  • i did and its amazing great videos do u know what it means now after your research

  • yes, but I'm more of a flip :)

  • i cant stop watching this interview your so funny in it. your such a cute cheshtang! keep it up mannayy!

  • Hey DrGolgi...thanks sooooo much! Check out my other interviews or go to my website...and thanks for making me do a mini-research on chestang :)

    Have a great weekend! Manny

  • To me, the coin toss scene is one of the best illustrations of Aton's way of thinking (That's why I sent you my video as a comment). Your interview just brings us so perfect a clarification of the very meaning of this scene (and a huge part of the movie), regarded as an Allegory of life and death, and considering Anton as a "reminder" of those "principles".

    So, once again, Brilliant interview!

  • Thanks soooo much and great vid as well...wow...you really know film criticism, and I'm very, very impress! I'm glad when someone actually takes time to think of the implications of the film...as I was watching your vid, I just realize that No Country for Old Men is one of those films that will never, ever age...it's cliche, but the film is an instant classic!

  • Great job Manny. Excellent interview!

I share Javier Bardem's interpretation of Anton's character & totally agree with what he says about the latter's "fate" in those "principles directly related to life itself (& its opposite)", the fatality of human destiny & the fact that death (life's interruption) is totally random: It's just the result of several acts & events put together by hazard. It doesn't need a good (ethical or logical) reason to happen, & when it happens, it cannot be stopped.

  • thanks again! when you have a chance, go to my website, because I have my written reviews of movies up there, and you know, in written form, you can explicate theories more, than just a 2 1/2 minute video format...can't wait to hear your thoughts on other films! Manny

  • ¡Javier Bardem es realmente uno de los bests de España!

  • hi manny, wow..you did a great job..u didnt seem nervous or anything, u were so confident, and i feel so jealous of you..like if i was to interview such a great and sexy actor like javier bardem, i absolutely know i will screw it up..anyways i hope you get to interview more and more actors and be more and more famous. God Bless!

  • Aw...thanks sooooo much douluvmee! Your kind words mean a lot to me :) Manny

  • hello Manny you are the best person who ever interviews celebrities! keep up the great work! cheshtang

  • Thanks for your encouraging words! These great comments make me want to keep on doing what I'm doing :) Have a great weekend! Manny

  • javier

    javier

    javieeeeeeeeeeeeeer

    I LOVE U !! :*

  • Is that interviewer a fag or what?

  • No, I'm not...I just play one on TV lol :) Thx for watching though! Manny

  • Wow, your really the guy who interviewed JAVIER BARDEM? That's awesome, who in your opinion is the coolest actor/actress you ever met?

  • Truth be told, they're all nice, since it's a press junket...but for actors? I would say George Clooney is waaay up there...check out my interview with him for Leatherheads...actress? I have a special spot for Lynda Carter, 'cause she's super sweet...but I also enjoyed Idina Menzel from Enchanted, check that interview too when you can...but heck, I had a blast with Renee Zelwegger as well...so I gotta mull that over :) Thx! Manny

  • oh yes, george clooney's the coolest thing alive despite his age

  • hells yea

  • when i was watching the movie it didnt sound like he was spanish

  • no because the character wasn't spanish in nature, thx for watching! Manny

  • what's funny is that his haircut was very typical, especially in the southwest in the 1970s-80s, which is when this flick is supposed to take place!

the movie depressed me, but I AGREE Javiar's character was one of the old time great boogie men!

  • you're right about the time and place of his haircut...although oddly enough, he was the only one sporting that in the film :)

    thx for watching! Manny

  • the haircut was kind of like the two boys at end. One wearing a shirt, and the other bare chested. It was a regional thing and seasonal thing. Fads and fashion go that quick!

Still, Javiar's haircut added to his sinister character

  • Very talented man, I also agree his villain is up there with Lecter and others.

  • all memorable ones :) Manny

  • I agree Manny, he is a very memorable villain. Great haircut, and intresting altogether, very evil also. He doesn't look like a killer. When I saw him in the trailer, I was like this is a joke how can he be villain. I told my dad he's just gonna waste money seeing this. But, that first murderous introduction I was like this is a villain. Don't you think?

  • he truly made the movie for me...from his very first scene...to the last...all memorable! He truly deserved his Oscar...and I'm proud to say...I called it from the very beginning...friendo :) Manny

  • I have been waiting for this movie to appear in Philippine cinemas. Damn! I hope It really comes soon. I'd only watch it in the big screen. ^^ Thanks for posting!

  • I know, I remember those problems when I was living in the Philippines...we only get the big blockbuster films...but it's now available on DVD...thx for watching! Manny

  • Just a great interview Manny--wow now I have to check your other clips--I've been a fan of Javier's work since the early 90's and it's so nice to see him get all this attention lately.

  • Thx! I've been a fan of Javier since Jamon, Jamon as well, and it was a pleasure to finally interview him, for a film that made him win the Oscar :) Manny

  • Manny, your interview is great. I've replayed it numerous times. Love the voices. I noticed you didn't appear to enjoy Lee-Jones as much. Can you tell us more. Do you suspect he is a tad phobic? He seemed a bit intimidating, perplexed, suspicious. What was going on?

  • No, Tommy Lee Jones has a very good heart, but he's been voted the worst interviewee from the journalist circuit. I had a great time with him, but I was nervous as heck because of his reputation. Although he gave me a few nuggets that I was able to use for my review :) Thx for watching! Manny

  • Finally saw it yesterday. Great movie. Javier really made the movie.

I also want to say how much I love the ignorance of these people who care more to comment about the interviewer than the movie.

  • Isn't that something? Guess they're all jealous I got to touch Javier's hands lol...it takes one to know one you know? :) Manny

  • manong, how did you land a job as a movie critic in america? :) PArang yun sexy na news caster dati sa GMA tapos naka pasok sa news casting somewhere in LA area. I forgot her name. But anyway, keep up the good work, kahit medyo halong landi ang interview hehehe

  • the landi is part of the drama :) hey, punta ka naman sa website ko't tulungan mo ako :) Manny

  • The inteview is great. The comments quite annoying. There may not be a large audience for a movie as good as this one. I don't care. I enjoy my movie experiences in an empty theatre without the accompaniment of pop corn, rustling paper & ice cream licking, friendos'.

  • Thanks for watching! You know, there are films when I want the "empty theater" experience so I can concentrate on the flick, and there are some movies where I want to see audience reactions... Manny

  • IS THE INTERVIEWER GAY

  • Oh no, are we in 1942? LOL :) Thx for watching though, y'all, hope you had a great Easter weekend :) Manny

  • Manny you're an inspiration and a gift from god... I'm an Asian American and it is such a joy to watch your work, Big fan....

  • Thanks soooooooo much! Please go to my website when you can, or you're bored, I need hits :) Have a great week! Manny

  • obviously

  • Ha! Faglord...hehehehe

  • the interviewer is a faglord!!

  • No, really? What a great observation Heikki1! lol Manny

  • A faglord? Does that mean he has lordship over many homosexual men? Does he have a big mansion that he rents out to them? Or is he the owner of an Apt. complex? Can I stay with him?

  • not taking any more application MoGiMal...next time :) thanks for watching! Manny

  • Man this interviewer is really irritating. He seems to be quite prevalent. Is this guy popular?

  • Oh AbsolomJones...sorry to irritate you, I just can't help it :) Popular? Not quite yet :) But, thx for watching! Manny

  • Oh Jeez that guy has got something! So sexy! Well that haircut in the movie is frigging awful!

  • my god that man is fit

  • lol you're the most unassuming guy ever and it seems like your interviews go in a silly direction and then you always get them to say the most epic things and the interviews are great. great interviews, thanks!

  • Bingo! That's my secret Mister Greg :) Thanks soooooo much! Manny

  • "One of the most memorable villains in cinematic history"

Well said! Good taste in movies as well. Cheers!

  • Thx jmalcomb7 :) Have a great week! Manny

  • Horrible interviewer. Was that his first day? Lol.

  • I know right? We talked about his character, his hair, his motivation, and the film! Nothing relevant about the movie at all lol :) But...as always, thanks for watching! Manny

  • Chigurh, shoot the faggot in the forehead. wait, do the coin toss, and have him call sides, then shoot him, that would be fair. He's gayer than peter pan

  • Calm down aminakoyum....he's Javier...not quite Chigurh...and Peter Pan's gay? Takes one to know one huh :) Thx for watching! Manny

  • just playing around man :) it's youtube

keep up the good work haha :*)

  • Oh, so am I :) I know we can be friends, friendo :) Thx and have a great week! Manny

  • whats this movie about? im so confused

  • You know how in movies people just find a crapload of money and get away with it? It's about how you can't.

  • yup yup a cowboy comes across a bag full of money from a drug deal gone wrong and people are after him Mexican gangs, and a crazy psyco killer.

its a really good movie even though people bitch bout the ending cause they want something that would be obvious instead of unexpecting but just get the movie its really good

  • I hate how entertainers get the easy life....I'm a hater. And teachers and farmers, the real heroes of society, get the shaft...but you love it. IT'S WRONG.

  • You are a hater indeed! I'm for teachers and farmers as well, but I don't have to hate! I help instead...priorities urgeone :) Thx for watching! Manny

  • someone's a morman

  • do u mean morMON? and Im no mormon but so what if I was? should I say someone's a tagger judging by ur name?

  • dude chill its youtube

there is no sence in getting flustered about this.just dont coe back to this video.and ignore it.

  • oh yes, i knew your name is manny even before you replied pig.

  • oh..thats you. my hair is almost like that freaks hair. and i am not crazy. but my old psychiatrist thinks that i am. swiss cheese you lol...do you know what that means manny? we'll find you. all glorifying this piece of crap character...funny how you appraise this guy, but when it really happens you duck.

religious are you? where is your Heaven?

  • What would you do, if somebody comes to you and says: "Hey, you just got the same hairstyle as Anton Chigurh, the psychopathic assasin in NCFOM."

Telling him that you are actually the trend setter, not Anton, or maybe saying: "What buisness is it of yours, what my hair look like?" before you expressing your craziness in a weird ritual and than kick his ass extraordinary.

  • plus she's wearing a cross on her shirt...wow. you'll see.

  • Yes, I'm quite religious lol :) Manny

  • What's the gay interviewer's perspective on this actor's hair? My hair is like the assasin's hair...so is javier saying that something is wrong with my mind??? faggott ass flip interviewer..now i'm gonna go to the international house of lumpia and shootemup.

  • Breaking News Urgeone...people have been noticing his hair! Lol...great usage of the word lumpia :) Thx for watching!!! Manny

  • who is that freak interviewing him??

  • he's very freakish isn't he? lol :) Thx for watching though! Manny

  • This fella is fucking brilliant..

  • Letth talk about violenth

  • He did in "Before the Night Falls".... or was it the other way around

  • He did in "Before the Night Falls".... or was it the other way around

  • ahaha, "if he thinks he can walk around with that haircut, something is wrong in his mind."

he's hilarious dude. awesome actor. love this movie
