I was thinking of getting a web browser for my Dreamcast. But will I be able to connect to SegaNet, and is it possible to play games online in the Dreamcast?
SegaNet has ended. But you will be able to connect the Dreamcast to the internet, use its web browser (either via PlanetWeb or Dreamkey 3.0), and play some (not all) online games.
Whether a game can still be played online depends on whether the developer still supports it. I know Quake 3 can. There are also private servers up for games that closed there official servers.
no. it was just an ISP that sega set up to optimize connection & bandwidth specifically for Dreamcast & Saturn users. 9 times out of 10 you could get pretty decent connection speeds for dial up. Usually topping out at 54.4 kb. But the service lost steam after the release of the PS2 & Xbox. :( was sad to see the DC pass away :(
when i got one with an orange circle on it was good but then i got some truobles coz sega brought a new virson with a blue circle on it and i remember there was a cd that you can play games with i con't know to adentfie
it there was a deer moving around and around
so if you know guys where can i found it and how can i update my dreamcast???
There's a very rare "broadband adapter," which is basically an ethernet card for the system. For modems you need to put in a browser disc and just set it up... phone number, account name, password, etc.

I wonder if flash and HTML 5 work ^^
Unreadableanon 1 year ago
@Unreadableanon Macromedia Flash (not Adobe) should (at least in 3.0), but it's too old for HTML5.

WhenSeanAteTheWorld 3 years ago
No, because I don't have any kind of modem service anymore.
goodcowgames 3 years ago
too bad, um, how do you set it up? just with a phone jack cause it won't take my ethernet cord
