@272lbcrt25....My mom thought he sang flat too. I also like Nat much better. My mom got me hooked on him about 1972. She had good taste and I miss her.
My dear old Dad never asked for much. He was always surrounded by strident women! One request he did have, however, was to have this very version of Stardust played at his funeral. We eventually found it on a scratchy old LP and he had his wish. I've never listened to it since...until today. Thank you for, what for me is a precious gift and rest in peace Daddy.
@272LBCRT25 Sinatra outclasses Nat King Cole by a mile.. If you don't like the sound of old Sinatra, then you should listen to young Sinatra, because he has way, way better pitch than Nat King Cole.
I seriously love this song. I own the Michael Buble/Naturally 7 version. Just listened to the Nat King Cole and Hoagy Carmichael version for the first time.. also this version now too! I absolutly love it.. :) <3 Why can't music be like this now..
The strange arrangement omitting most of the lyric as well as the best part of the melody mean this is not one of Sinatra's greatest moments. Nat Cole's version is far superior.
@SergioVellatti I checked out your channel after a craving for this song, and having read the video description. You are tremendously talented, and could you BE any more handsome? Your talent knows no bounds and I wish you all the best.
@97669 Love the video. Thanks very much for posting.
Wow...yep, another incredible montage of images to another great song, Jeff, especially the loose chronology of Frank's age seen through the years. One thing I find fascinating is your diversity, which Serg and I, in fact, were talking about a few days ago. Come to think of it, this is how I connected with you to begin with, after discovering your video--in a similar style--for Al Martino's "The Shadow of Your Smile."
[cont'd] ...Thanks so much for sharing this with me, and it's obvious, at least to me, that Sergio will love it, and certainly its "dedication" to him.
I saw this on my flight home from Houston today and was very much moved! Thanks for the dedication, my friend! You're were right; I was surpsied and very much pleased. As always, your pictures were awesome!! You also used my favorite Frank Sinatra rendition of the song. There will never be another Frank Sinatra - but I'm thankful for his recordings and then awesome people like you, who help keep that torch lit! Thanks again, Jeff!
Oh how I do love this one Jeff. So refreshing after having spent most of my morning commenting on friend's videos and on and on and on. Another master piece to say the least. Main post on angel and now if you will excuse me..........I am going to hide away and listen to this more times than, well I am, that is 'nuff said.Thank you so much for another wonderful song from a wonderful friend.
Look for Sinatra...." All my tomorrows"....I like this..Stardust........thanks

I like this. I heard him Sing Mrs. Robinson and thought it was awful. I still like Nat's version better. But this is good.

Sorry...cut my teeth to the Nat King Cole version of this and it will always be my favorite. Ol' Blue Eyes does a great job though. Respect

@97669 It still is interesting, because out of his (three?) Stardust recordings this is the only one with an intro.

This only plays the intro though
BuyBenco 1 year ago
@BuyBenco No. The intro (instrumental) was actually omitted here. This version did not include the majority of the lyric and is extremely short.
SergioVellatti 1 year ago
@SergioVellatti The introduction of lyrics i mean, not instrumentals, he only sings the beginning of lyrics not chorus or verse
