  • hermain cain 2012 candidate for pokemon master!

  • god he's stupid.

  • Why does she keep saying "should have known AT Pokemon"? What the hell does that even mean?

  • HOW FAST EVERYONE FORGETS ABOUT SARAH PALIN

  • 999 could be 666 if you want. Mormons think "the mark of Cain" means black skin as noted in the book of moses and the story of Cain and Able. I agrre, performance atr, just like the paladino thing. How much is this happening that we don't notice?

  • Damn near spit my coffee at the screen @9:08 at the Lee Van Cleef smoking shot followed by Cain's Alan Partridge grin that drags on for a near-pornographic eternity.

    Lmao!

  • I liked the Pokemon movie

  • She's like the Jenna Marbles of Politics! XD

  • am i the only one who personally thinks this guy is just an idiot rather than an idiot?

i think u r all seeing things where they aren't!

  • the lady has so annoying voice, I hate her.

  • @Fusef, That's such a good reason to hate somebody.

  • 9:22 Problem?

  • rape face 9:20 creepy

  • Oh nooo

  • In Pokemon's defense.... a lot of those movies have profound messages.

  • hahahahhaa fuck yeah XD

  • I want to see a video of him saying "I do not watch pokemon movies" in his low georgia voice lols

  • I never really took Herman Cain seriously anyway.

  • Look out, Hideo Kojima, Princess Celestia, and Capcom. We've got a new Trolling God here.

  • It's true. Is it not?

  • I think herman was setup and if he didnt drop out he would have got jfked and the pokemon thing was just to sway pepole away from him

  • Maddows is an annoying bitch.

  • im only 15 so i dont get a lot of this political shit but from what ive heard just from reading new and stuff democrats seem selfish and republicans seem childish in the fact they wont listen to others but both of them have there heads up their own ass and need to get it together or its going to be my generation and beyond that suffers from it

  • All Republican candidates are a Joke!! Herman Cain just had the biggest punchline!

  • this video is the definitive pownage of herman cain, itll be studied by all future tv journalists as a textbook lesson in how to carefully deconstruct a sham

  • @KrionStudio click on a different video next time, retard.

  • @sodapopragsable, Harsh, but funny.

  • So, Republicans are idiots?

  • @Alteczar, I'm not sure I'd call them idiots. I might refer to them as cognitively-politically impaired or perhaps lacking the fundamental ability to recognize facts and process evidence using even rudimentary logic or maybe they're so infused with their (faith-based) religious and pseudo-religious nonsense (e.g., their "free market," laissez fairyland economic b.s.) that they can no longer distinguish fact from fiction or ... yeah, OK, they're idiots.

  • Who cares if he used a quote from Pokemon? Does every quote need to be Martin Luther King or Ghandi? Borrrring. I like new material, no matter where it comes from (and a song writer can arguably be called a poet, although the quote in question just sounds like a normal, cliche quote anyway). And his awkward videos don't make any LESS sense than all the other politicians awkward political videos.

If he's slightly more "artsy," I'd applaud him for that. It's better to be interesting than boring.

  • @carlotta4th It's amazing, if you watch past one minute, she talks about everything after the Pokemon song thing. Gaffe after gaffe after gaffe, it was one on top of the other. The Pokemon thing was just the point she says she should have realized--it goes on from there.

  • @carlotta4th

Did you somehow miss how Maddow's editing team sequentially paused and played Cain's speech side-by-side with the Pokémon lyrics?

Please. Cain is either stupid himself or in on the conspiracy. I lean toward the latter. No serious candidate for president would go out in public and say these things without questioning it...and if it got questioned, it wouldn't have made it on the air. Everything is managed at those levels.

Also, Ron Paul's campaign videos make good sense.

  • He should have just taken it all the way man...

  • Somebody should stick Herman Cain into a pokemon ball and then toss him in the ocean.

  • i believe in Sim City 4 the default tax is 9% residential, 9% industrial, 9% commercial. You're supposed to change it, however, at the start of each campaign to suit your city's needs.

  • Is she saying that the pokemon movie song isnt lyrical genius?

    com' on

  • NICE CHICKEN, HONEY.

  • I'm gonna vote for Herman JUST BECAUSE OF HIS POKEMON QUOTE.

  • sometimes I jus wanna fuck the lesbian out of racheal maddows.... shes so hottt

  • Cain is trolling America

  • fuck newspeople are annoying

  • @utrhggcv no u

  • It's sad because the 999 plan would actually be kind of nice, but now it's just a joke from the Cain Campaign.

  • you mean you didn't know at "I want action figures made of myself".

  • I was never worried for a second that Herman Cain would be the nominee. Surely we were all entertained.

  • "I should have known at Pokemon." Her sentence structure is awful. The more she said it, the more I cringed. You don't know "at" anything. She might have been unfamiliar with Pokemon, but she murdered the English Language.

  • @GreatColors "At the mention of", "at the time of". It's not a very good place to elide, but it's crude rather than wrong.

  • @GreatColors Umm... that's a correct poetic construction and use of the English language. You should really research these things before commenting on them. I would guess you are British, except that your screen name suggests otherwise (with the spelling of 'color').

In any case, knowing 'at' something is an idiomatic construction. I wouldn't worry about it.

  • @XavierMacX *American English idiomatic construction

  • Her voice hurts my head.

  • FOX News sucks. They bring down EVERYONE. Visit CNN for the real news!

  • It's official. Herman Cain is the greatest troll in existence.

  • Ron Paul, nuff said

  • Am I the only one who doesn't see a problem with quoting a pokemon song? Isn't whoever wrote the song a poet? If taken out of that child seeming context wouldn't people take that more seriously?

And who cares if it was from Pokemon, I mean fuck Herman Cain but let him quote Dr. Seuss for all I care the man was a genius whether he wrote childrens books or not

  • I respect this man so much! Goes to show how gullible and dumb we truly are. This man is a political troll, and for that he is truly genius.

  • You know what's even funnier? You take the rest of the candidates (except Ron Paul) seriously too. Just take Ron Paul seriously then you'll finally have your respect back.

  • "I believe I don't believe..." lol wut

  • I just like how MSNBC was reaching so hard for something to make fun of Herman Cain for, thank God he's got all these rape and womanizing charges now. Gonna make Maddow's job way easier.

  • @ClubPikey Reaching? Get the fuck out. It all started with his presidential ANNOUNCEMENT. Search "Herman Cain fails the constitution" on YouTube. Then came 9-9-9, then Pokemon, then the sexual harassment, then frozen on questions about Libya, "I got so many things rattling in my head", then the attempt to save that by talking about Taliban in Libya, then "How do you say delicious in Cuban?" and now Pokemon AGAIN in his final speech. Are you fu(king kidding me? He could not have made it EASIER.

  • LMFAO! Herman Cain, You Gotta Catch Em All XD

  • Hermain Cain just earned my respect for being the biggest political troll in US history.

  • @unknownPLfan Day before election: Cain: "U Mad, America?"

  • @unknownPLfan

9:21 Herman Cain Troll Face XD

  • I played sim city for years. They have a 777 plan. Not 999

  • @interstate317 Actually, the default tax rates across the board, save for agriculture, start out at 9%.

  • @interstate317 At least for Sim City 4.

  • @interstate317 Too lazy to check the rates in 3000, 2000, or Classic, since I spent the most time playing the 4th installation in the series because it came out when I was 13, and finally old enough to appreciate some of the depth the games offered, as well as the plethora of realistic custom content people made. Though 2000 and 3000 did get me into the series in the first place.

  • @donavannj I was referring to sim city 2 and 3000. I HATED the 4th installation. You had to pay for electricity! Don't these morons know that electricity does not come out of our tax dollars!!

But now that I think about it, it might mave been 9-9-9 for sim city 4.

  • @interstate317 In 4, you only had to pay for electricity in terms of maintaining the power plants, just like in 2K and 3K. You probably just didn't notice it in 2K or 3K.

  • I don't like Maddow's bias on video games, they can inspire you as much as books or movies, but this news is actually pretty funny.

  • Rachel's forgetting the Herman's McBain comment: "I'm elected to lead, not to read"

  • Cain has never been charged with Sexual harassment. They are and always have been just allegations.

  • don't blame me i voted for david liebe hart

  • @coprographia, We blame you more than anybody.

  • @incitebytes salame, haters

  • @coprographia, Whoa, I don't hate salami.

  • I don't like Rachel's dismissive tone toward anime and video games. the video game industry rivals that of hollywood. Certainly bigger than the cable news industry.

there are more people playing a given XBL game at this moment than all those who watch PMS-NBC in a given month.

  • @ieodksnw787, I'm always amazed at what floats people's (comment) boats. Rachel wasn't dissing the video game industry, she was making fun of a presidential candidate who incorporated quotes/ideas from certain video games (w/out properly attributing the sourcing) into his presidential candidacy. Your comment is a perfect example of a logical fallacy known as "argumentum ad populum," i.e., that the greater # of people who somehow believe or do something makes it true/efficacious. No, it doesn't.

  • Why does she act so arrogant when she said he used a pokemon quote, is there some preconceived notion that anime is off limits?

  • FUCKING LOVE IT!

  • As a Pokemon fanatic, I am both appalled and convinced that this has made my YEAR.

  • "Nobody noticed this!" Really? because I'm pretty sure half of Youtube, 4chan, and Pokememes what on this as soon as he said it. Yeah nobody noticed it at all.

  • @blackkittygamer she didn't say no one noticed the Pokemon quote, as you are correct, they did. What she is saying is that nobody noticed the pattern that there are so many odd and incredible things about his campaign that it was never a serious campaign in the first place; she says it was an "art project"

  • herman cain was leading in the polls, then he took an arrow in the knee

  • Hermain Cain used deception. It's super effective!

  • @WigglyMalmsteam LLLLLLLLOOOOOLLLLLL!!! That line was super effective and funny!!

  • who says someone who wrote a pokemon song isn't a great poet? hahaha

  • @JTBEsq Some of her favorite guests are Michael Steele, Pat Buchanan , and Tim Pawlenty. She also puts in weekly interview requests for Sarah Palin and Karl Rove. (not surprisingly, they decline.) You clearly have never even watched this show. Keep digging yourself deeper and deeper, and when youre done, stay there.

  • Comment removed

  • @JTBEsq I'm the one being prejudicial? You just called her the "worst person on earth". Those were your words. Yours. Now its time to defend those words. If you cant then be quiet.

  • @JTBEsq Your definition of journalism is 200 years old, my friend. That's your problem right there.

  • @JTBEsq "Rachel Anne Maddow (pronounced /ˈmædoʊ/; born April 1, 1973) is an American television host and political commentator". Apparently you know what her job description is better than her own biographers. If only we were all as smart as you.I will say it agan. She is not a journalist. This is not news. It is commentary and opinion. just because she does research does not make her a journalist.

  • @JTBEsq take a journalism class you imbecile. Maddow is not a journalist, nor does she claim to be. she is a political commentator. she is no more a journalist than Rush Limbaugh, and thats fine. Did you watch the video? no wonder she's partisan. look at the choices the republicans are giving you.

  • FoxNews=Cnn=MSNBC=CBS=ABC=Liars!!!!!!!

  • @goodkarme, Ah, it's comforting to know that only YOU have the "truth"!

  • @incitebytes never said i had it and doled it out when i saw fit please dont hoist your preconceived notions on me ) all im saying is these news CORPORATIONS lie )

  • @goodkarme, Hmm, it seems pretty obvious to me that in order for you to be so cocksure that they're "all" lying, you must, by definition, know the "truth." Here's what I really meant: Don't be an intellectually lazy dumbass and dismiss everything you disagree with as "lying." Often that's just an excuse to make your own shit up when you don't agree with someone else. Sure, some of it's bullshit (e.g., Fox), but a lot of its not. Do the hard work and figure it out.

  • @incitebytes This idea that Fox is all bullshit and Msnbc is great is ridicules. Msnbc is just as bad as fox. Msnbc has a few good shows with Dylan Rattigan Cenk Uygur but Ed Schultz Lawrence O'Donnell are no more credible than Bill O'Reilly and Hannity and anyone with a brain knows this. And Fox has some decent people like Shepard Smith And Judge Napolitano. It's not the network that counts. It's the host/anchor

  • @onepiecefan74, I was somewhat (emphasis on "somewhat") with your analysis for awhile, but when when you said Judge Napolitano was "decent" you pretty much blew a battle-ship sized hole in your thesis. As a lawyer, I can tell you Napolitano's main claim to fame is that he's a right-wing (OK, self-proclaimed libertarian) ideological joke.

  • @incitebytes I'm an economist and historian and I could have said the same thing about Cenk Uygur or Dylan Rattigan as being a left wing ideological joke. I'm not here to judge what people think. I'm looking at sincerity and honesty. When bush went to war in Iraq and signed the patriot act Napolitano was very vocal about his outraged of the decision. Just like Cenk when Obama cracked down of medical marijuana users. ideology isn't a bad thing. it just means you believe in something.

  • @onepiecefan74, Thanks for the trite "it just means you believe in something" saying. Sure, in a vacuum, ideology isn't a bad thing, but it most definitely is a bad thing when it trumps facts/science/outcomes, as it does with Napolitano and, unfortunately, all too many of his ideological cohorts (yes, and with some on the left as well, except I would argue that given the current rightward shift in this country, there's far more ideological cliff-diving these days on the right).

  • @incitebytes I don't mean to sound rude but are you familiar with how social scientific theory come about? Theory of the social sciences is created regardless of fact and real world examples. It is then used to interpret facts and real world examples. This is how people come up with different explanation of the same event.

  • @onepiecefan74, You're not sounding rude (at least not compared to some of what goes on here). Thanks for the instruction on social science theory. Here's what I know: if, e.g., your ideology tells you that (contrary to the overwhelming weight of scientific proof/evidence) man strode the earth with dinosaurs, then to people like me, who think that science and knowledge of facts are important to moving man forward, your ideology is not just an "alternate" interpretive mode/lens, but is nonsense.

  • @incitebytes That sounds like religion vs. science. Religion really isn't political ideology (although some try to make it like that) or social science . When I talk about political ideology I'm referring to social sciences like philosophy, economics, and sociology (psychology requires some empirical work due to chemicals in the brain). When theory doesn't match up with any evidence than it should be rethought but generally speaking most theory can interpret enough examples to keep them alive.

  • @onepiecefan74, To some extent we're talking apples/oranges. It's indisputable that much of what passes for political "ideology" is rooted in religion & religious concepts of how the world works or ought to work. Just calling it "religion" doesn't remove it from the realm of political ideology. It appears, however, we agree on the fundamental precept that "When theory doesn't match up with 'any evidence' [I would have said, "the best evidence"] then it should be rethought."

  • Maddow is a man who knows a lot about Pokemon. That's a little creepy.

  • Americans are so weird

  • lmao no fucking way

  • Me think I got dummmber form watchingg thattttsss.........

  • @RHCowboy, Doesn't sound like you had too far to go.

  • @incitebytes *Gasp* GOOD JOB!! You got the joke! Would you like a gold star?

  • Mr. Cain, what should America do about Al Qeada?

    "Gotta catch 'em all!"

  • @particle409 Dude, I literally could not stop laughing when I read this thank you so much lmao.

  • @JTBEsq, Apparently, you've never watched Fox ("Fixed") News.

  • the whole System is performance art

  • This dude is so excited to talk about 'performance art'

  • Most annoying news reporter of all time.

  • She needs to learn to correctly pronounce Pokémon. There is an accent right there.

  • Ron Paul is the only honest top tier candidate.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ironmaw1776 Nah, I'm not a fan of Herman Cain at all. I was merely playing Devil's Advocate.

  • I'm just going to say...... Sim City is hard as hell lol. Pokemon..... don't see the silver lining there

  • Herman Cain is a clown and a complete joke.

  • @Useyno true the sooner people realize what a house niger he is the safer off we will be from having to hear this mans hate against our freedoms

  • I was hoping she'd do this again. I loved the Carl Paladino one.

  • Rachel, why are you surprised? Remember when many Americans voted for George W. Bush for President? He was stupider than Herman Cain. He could barely put two sentences together and he had a lot of trouble with the English language. His background was very shady. During his term as governor of Texas he was famous mainly for executing people. You know what? AMERICANS DON'T CARE!!! The sleazier, the stupider, the better we like it. Makes us feel secure. Call it art if you like, but it's just sad.

  • Wow, to think a large platform in America so happily fell for this man...

  • Herman Cain, "entertainer" extraordinaire! Duping the mosregullible American public all the way to the bank...or the presidency?? ROFLMAO. Generations past called these fellows "snake oil salesmen, or "carpetbagger." Keep that in mind when you go to vote in the primary.

  • pokemon has a lot to teach us.

  • Give us a break, Rachel, it's hard to tell the difference between jokes and American politics!

  • le troll exceptionaire

  • gogogo liberals! \o/

  • I think that there are people who have realised you could make money running for office, and so they are entering the race, not to win, but to make money in the process of losing.

  • American politics is so entertaining.

  • @thefallout25 kinda like Fox?

  • @forgottencitizen

um, no? I'm pretty sure Fox is #1, where as MSNBC is last.

  • @thefallout25 #1 in lying and sensationalist rhetoric you mean. Fox is just the conservative version of MSNBC. Neither of them should be taken as actual news networks. If you don't believe me that Fox is just as bad just go visit foxnewslies-dot-net.

  • He's just going for the Jamaican vote. Think about it.

  • @MyChemicalBromance, Love that screen name.

  • That smile at the end of his ad. It is trollface.jpg.

This man is the next Sacha Baron Cohen.

  • Comment removed

  • I mean... I think pokemon is insanely motivational.

  • I wonder if his whole campaign staff is trolling him,

  • "We need a leader, not a leader"--as of Monday morning, Herman Cain.

"I was elected to lead, not to read!" --president Shwarzenegger in Simpsons movie.

  • @MrMrmadwolf92

i think that you accidentally a leader for a leader.

  • @MrMrmadwolf92

    Gah, i meant:

"i think that you accidentally replaced a reader with a leader"

  • the elephant in the room is that Herman Cain is a black guy and Republicans think black voters who voted for Obama won't vote for a white candidate.

  • POKEMON!!!!!!!!

  • @Daveydior Have you heard of Glenn Beck?

  • @Daveydior

Seeing as you decided to include everyone in your message, I would like to point out that I, as well as a few others I actually checked with, do not agree with your statement. You cannot speak for everyone else.

That being said, you can't say that in none of the clips in which Herman Cain was shown he didn't seem like a complete idiot, intentionally or not.

  • No Maddow. it is read:

    THIS.

    IS.

    HERMAN CAIN!

  • He rarely, if ever, gives substantial answers, he just goes "bold plan 999", he must've used it as an answer 3+ times during the debate, even when Cramer told him that the question he was about to ask didn't lend itself to tax plans, Cain, like te joke he is, repeats his tax plan.

  • A black man that knows his place...... At 1600 Pennsylvania Ave...... Progressives are the most hateful, ignorant, hypocritical racist that I have ever been a witness to.

  • Lol @Rachel Maddow. Bonus points for trying to snag a few more viewers

  • how does rachel know that we all aren't in on the joke and she's actually the outsider?

  • What Rachel doesn't understand is that the super right-wing candidates seem wacky BECAUSE THEY'RE NUTS! It's not new. Sarah Palin's political life has made countless people ask "is this a joke? Can anyone take this seriously?" The same is true of Michele Bachmann. But the tea party DOES take these nuts seriously. I wish Cain was just kidding. The scary truth is- He's for real. And a lot of idiots will vote for him. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

  • this is how simple minded you people are!

First off, you're watching Rachel Maddow!

Secondly, you are leaving comments for a 14m segment (ON an EVENT THAT OCCURRED 2 MONTHS AGO!) that Jon Stewart or SNL's Weekly update could have made fun of in passing.

You are so easily distracted that you are missing YOUR ALLIES (Left, Liberals & Dems) deconstruct America.

Let me ask you one question - Why are responsible for our own budgets, but the Gov. isn't?

  • @mAdDdog98 Say the person watching a Rachel Maddow video simply to complain about it. Why is it only the left that is "deconstructing America"? In case you didn't notice, there is more that one person in charge in the government.

  • @jbkrule TRUE & all of them (people running the government) SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED.

FYI - I would rather vote for a person less likely to dig their hands into my pockets.

  • @mAdDdog98 I'm sure you'd rather watch some Anne Coulter and relish in the same ignorance just at the opposite end of the political spectrum.

  • @TEAPARTYGUY84, Hey, thanks for dragging your knuckles here and taking the time to make such an erudite comment. I know that people reading your comment will think,"OMG, how does somebody get that fucking stupid/ignorant?" But I don't share those views, because I know that backwoods cretins like you have to be pretty smart. I mean, how else could you track family milestones when your father is also your brother, your sister your mother, and your new mother-in-law the former family pet ewe?

  • @incitebytes excuse me did Obama not say he traveled to 57 states? He did how am I dumb for hearing him say that I know he made a mistake and conservatives were talking about it like it was news it was dumb just like this crap this guy i mean this dike is saying isn't there more important things going on? Really
