  • i'm aware that Elivs did this song. i seem to think that Willie Nelson did a cover of this, as well. could somebody verify this?

  • @JDStorm76 Yes, to both.

  • @JDStorm76 : yes Willie Nelson did it too, sometime in the late 70s or early 80s

  • to be honest this is better than elvis's version

  • What film is this video from?

And what are they on about at the begining?

  • @CaraBeata they're on about how too much j-weed is good for you although you tend to get frootie 0_0

  • @CaraBeata The PSB did their own 'art' film called 'It Couldn't Happen Here' -- these video images come from that.

  • its great that a band took a slow love song and made it their own by making it quicker its top song

  • mmm me encanta

  • This would have been a really good cover if they hadn't left out some of the words. It just doesn't flow as well. But, still pretty good.

  • Meu Deus !!1 Que saudade !!!

  • who is the dickhead now?

  • @sovietthreat you

  • "I'm going there, but I like it here wherever it is." Joss Ackland = Chuck De Nomolos = sit-up champion of the 27th century (Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey) --Epic.

  • @Witdip im sorry i dont get this ,can you explain?

  • @ClassicIron15 No problem... the old guy in the back seat played the bad guy in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. He was the gym teacher of Rufus (Bill and Ted's helper from the future.) He built the robots Evil Bill and Evil Ted. He was also the sit-up champion of the 27th century.

  • @Witdip Ackland was also in The Mighty Ducks.

  • YOU WERE ALWAYS ON MY MIND!!!!!

    :'(

  • Good old Clacton-on-Sea. All the schoolkids headed to the seafront & pier to watch the filming of this back in the 80's

  • This has to be the best version of this song! Elvis's version was dull!

  • Love so much this song, good remembrance from my past...

    Thank you, Pet shop boys...

  • these were the times when videos actually had deep meanings...

  • I hate cover versions....but this is an exception.

Pet shop boys at their best

  • @dondocooperstein that's beast and is exactly what i'm lookin for

  • the chipmunks version rocks harder...

  • this version is great, but also maybe you should try the Mary Elizabeth McGlyn's, is also a good one! :)

  • starting at 3:10 is epic. It enchants you with the old guy.

  • predicament assured like glasses with crosses were the vampires vessels who would have thought i'd have natural ones, to say the right things when you were always on my mind

  • The Old Guy in the back of the car, Joss Ackland- the South African consul in Lethal Weapon 2, and Chuck Denomolus in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey! Ackland was cool!

  • This song appears on Silent Hill Shatered Memories, a verydifferent version, but I didn't know it was a cover until k

    now O.O

  • very nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Pet Shop Boys created very surreal and artistic music videos.

  • This was our song not a day goes by that i don t think about you my darling lizzy

  • @dondocooperstein terence trent d arby wishing well, martika toy soldiers, roxy music avalon, inxs dont change, xtc they're only making plans for nigel, joy division ceremony, some greats some time over looked, and this is 1990, but has a really cool new wave/alterative sound neds atomic dustbin grey cell green, hope you enjoy Dave

  • They make it sound faithfully eighties. That makes a good cover, when you can totally transfer a song into your own style.

  • this song is on ddr x and i love this song what year did this video come out

  • is that woman barbara windsor ?

  • let's fuck some asses

  • This song rock! My friend, who passed away, loved this song too, and I think of him whenever I hear it.

The video, however, is weird as shit.

  • This song reminds me of Elvis

  • Elvis will be rolling in his grave because he wished he made the song this good .

  • wasnt a big pet shop boys fan but they hit they nail on the head with this cover, brings back memories of a childhood long gone 4 me

  • muito bom

  • this song always makes me think of DDR & my ex :-/ we used to play DDR together LOL

  • I'm going there... but I like it here, wherever it is.

  • who is the guy in the back?

  • @myloverisbillmurray His name is Joss Ackland he is an amazing Britt actor....was in Bill and Ted's Bogus Adventure also again as the "Baddie" in Lethal Weapon 2..and countless other films. He is 82 now and lives in England.

  • @GhostHuntrsOfSoTampa

He's originally from South Africa. He played an evil South African diplomat in one of the Lethal Weapon films and seemed to enjoy showing up the sort of nasty piece of work that made him leave his homeland.

  • @GhostHuntrsOfSoTampa whoa, hold on, you either mean Bill and Ted's Excellent adventure or bogus journey

  • @myloverisbillmurray Hi, my lover is Alec Guinness.... Anyway. That guy is Joss Ackland. He was in an episode of Sherlock Holmes (with jeremy Brett) called The Copper Beaches. At least, I think it was that one! :)

  • @killerlady1955 hah yes i saw that on the telly the other day! cheers, ps love the name...very clever x

  • @killerlady1955 He was also the bad guy in Leathal Weapon 2, also the russian consulate rep in Hunt For Red October. Diplomatic immunity.....

  • It was a hit for these guys though in the 1980's and was playing on all the big clubs.

  • there are too many commercials as it is, but on youtube?! what is this world coming too...

  • fantastic video, I can remember going down to clacton seafront and seeing this video being made was only 12 at the time, and twenty 23 years later was lucky to see them perform at glastonbury 2010 one of my highlights of the weekend. brings back loads of memorys, shame songs are not made like this anymore.

  • Can somebosy explain this video to me. What is with the old man in the backseat looking like he's on drugs saying all the random things. This is one video I never got.

  • @katiemc66 -from the movie "it couldnt happen here", - big in U.K. not so certain about U.S. maybe find it on netflix put it in your queue...

  • @LordBrome Aha! Thank you!

  • @katiemc66 Take the old man out of the it and its about making mistakes and then going shit why didnt i do something at the time but its too late.old man in back is great just sitting there.

  • "You went away. It should make me feel better ... but I don't know how I'm going to get through."

    Nice plug =P

  • WANNA SEE A SIN :-)

    Google

ENCHANTED LEARNING with THE ANGEL LOOKAGAIN ;-)

  • music for the espirit end soul i remenber when i was 14

  • They are great!!!

  • This is my all time favorite song!

  • @tehkao really ?, there are lot of more incrdible songs in the world, is good, but ... not to be my all time favourite

  • Derek Jarman shot a vid for this song, too, verging on abstractionism with the colours of Claude Monet's "Waterlilies". IMO - but this could not EVER had happened, unfortunately - it would have been great and truly appropriate if Stanley Kubrick had recovered his 'slitscan' and created a new depth-piercing shot "beyond infinity"........

  • makes me smile when i'm feeling down the video does
