Venom described themselves as "Punks with long hair" and did the classic track "Metalpunk".

They did it as an attack on how Heavy Metal was being diluted with bands like "Bon Jovi" being called "metal", this was the fuel for Venom calling themselves "Power Metal, Black Metal, Venom Metal" anything but "Heavy Metal" as it was being too heavily commercialised.

There was a Heavy Metal chart and Michael Jackson got into it just because there was a guitar solo in it, sad but true.
