  • man, that Guyot Shorty looks like it would make a handy food thermos. never knew about them til now, too bad they're discontinued.

nice move on the 8'x8' btw, great useful size.

  • Can't see nothing :(

  • First; Thanks for the grear vids.

Now the criticysm. You've got the bottle and cup in a reliable carry pouch but you then put that inside anouther pouch, w/ straps already one it, so you're using 2x the space for the same contents. Also, inside the bottle is more space for something else, like spare socks and foot powder

  • Will the 8X8 tarp be available in brown? I see it will only be in green. I think brown is a better all around color. By the way glad to see, That slave driver is finally letting you out of the office to make vids again.LOL Missed your input Great job.......Rogue

  • @roguepathfinder I am working on getting Brown. If I do I may have to stop Carrying the 7x7 completely. The maker is picky about Sizes to Colors. Good to be Back Brother!

  • +1 - I'd be all about the 8x8 in tan/khaki! I'd even pay the extra for a 9x9 custom if possible. Let me know Rob - thanks!

  • It took me a while, but I finally found the canteenshop. It was not very clear where it was. I did not find the new 8 by 10 tarp once there. I don't know about the other new gear. The left column (table of contents) is a little hard to read either because of my monitor or my age or both. Maybe a lighter background would help. I hope this text will be taken as suggestions and not complaints. I wish the best and much success for WOA and all involved.

  • @thenrylee We are always open to helpful criticism. I plan on working on a new layout once things slow down a bit. I know the menu bar can be a bit hard to see. The 8x8 is on the Shelter page for order under the 7x7. Thanks thenrylee

  • We all miss Dave, but I'm glad you are here to post videos and keep it alive. Keep doing what you are doing and know that plenty of us support you. I certainly appreciate the time you are taking to post and work you are putting in.

  • @heliumbro Is dave still posting videos for a different web site or is he done.

  • It looks like he is putting video posts on hold for YT and his homepage, due to his filming obligations. No idea when they will start up and Rob or Critter would probably have more info on that. Rob's been helpful with me so far and any questions I've had. Also check his facebook, Dave updates his situation on that and keeps current pics up. Hope this helps...

  • Awesome kit!

  • love your vid's and your gear i need to order some stuff but I lack funds atm...

  • Hey rob can you work on your lighting please All your videos are dark and hard to make out you gear!

  • @DAMNITman1 I will work on it, I started using a new converter, they are clearer on my youtube page.

  • i miss dave

  • I just saw a shorty lookalike at wal-mart

its a thermolite i believe it was 32 oz.

I was thinking of buying it .

  • Do you sell those OD green bandannas? I've been having trouble finding bigger cotton bandannas for kit!

  • @rooftopeagle I am putting those on the site this week.

  • thanks man, I'll add them to the 8x8 tarp, Mora Clipper, canteens and OD green space blanket order that I've got coming your way soon :-)

  • Does the tarp come in the stuff sack or was that a personal addition of yours? I might order one either way! Also looking at the Laplander saw, a couple canteens and cups and a Mora knife!

  • @rooftopeagle That was just a cheap stuff sack from Dicks sporting goods. I just replaced the draw string with paracord.

  • Okay thanks :-)

  • i ordered a pathfinder t-shirt 1 month ago when are they sending those out?

  • Good video Rob. Looks Like some nice additions to your line of gear. Thanks!

  • your videos would be better if you actually showed the items "in use", instead of just laying them out on a tarp and talking about them. also, please turn up your "mike gain", i can barely hear you...

  • @alzathoth Maybe you should have watched the next video - where I use the gear.

  • I think commercials like these should be forbidden on youtube

  • @denplaza People ask me for new gear and gear reviews - so I give them Gear Reviews. Not only that But I will be using this gear all winter long for testing. It is what I am using, not just what I am selling.

  • Hope you guys still carry the pf harpoon, I ordered it almost 2 months ago.

  • @boonenorman Shoot me an email with your info - I will contact the maker and see why he hasn't sent that to you.

  • can you get thoes books on your site?

  • Was that a net hammock? I wouldn't try sleeping in that without some sort or underquilt during wintertime.. Free moving air under the hammock will chill you down faster than laying down on the ground.

and yes.. I do hammock camping so I do know what I'm talking about, not just a couch elitist...

  • Nope its a Trek Light Hammock (Parachute Material). When I use it for winter camping I will use an underquilt. It is in this kit more as a quick set up seat.

  • Rob - Is the diameter of the Vargo cup similar to the GSI and will it nest with nalgene type containers?? - Thanks! Vince

  • @PhotoTactics It is the same diameter, just taller. I got that light for you - I will email you about it.

  • @wildernessoutfitters - Thanks Rob!

  • Thanks for the review on the new gear! - Vince

  • what happen to dave i know he said something about going over seas

  • Dave will be back someday

  • Yeah... I keep seeing these folks dropping chinese and other non-usa crap... and I hope I see people dropping those that sell it... just my opinion.

  • @jbr1074 We don't sell anything like that - I don't have the BCB kits, but they are great kits, and if genuine will last a lifetime. I sell as many American made goods as I can. Some things we just don't make though.

  • Noted. Still sickens me to see so many of us selling the US down the tube for the sake a buck or two- not directing that at you, Rob, just a general disdain I have forged over the years- mostly since I have seen my beloved tool making industry (precision metalworking) be destroyed by what I woudl declare unfair trade practices.

  • you get what you pay for alot of the time.. so paying more usally means better quality.. some people are cheap and want the lowest price I rather have valve meaning higher price but better quality or more uses or better at it

  • Rob, are you ever going to get NBC caps in? Also, I'd forget about those British canteen/stove sets. Sell american!

  • @cannonball666 Probably not, the only place I can get them charge an arm and a leg for them.

  • Hi rob how mutch can the tarp handle as far as wether goes ?

    Regards

  • @petervagt Dave used one in an Ice storm, and it held through an awful lot. Check out the video he has on winter camp.

  • Awesome. Good stuff!!! I need a space blanket for my kit.

  • nice
