  • where is this bus now?

  • @bizzaretez Sadly, it appears it has been brocken up for spare parts. I was filming there again last weekend and there is absolutely no sign of it now. My video of the visit last Sunday is now on line if you would care to see it.

  • all in the name of money eh ? it may have been rotten but could have yeilded lots of donor parts for other buses of the same model . very sad but more often than not these lovely old vehicles go for scrap .

  • @midsaint776 Yes, the years march on and these fine old machines will not be seen again!

  • It is indeed a shame, but I am sure, being at that classic bus friendly location, the restoration costs involved and the availability of cash to do so, must have been worked out well before the decision was made.

  • what a waste ^.^ lol i woulds filmed the inside XD

  • oh no rung colin, they scrapped it

  • That is sad to hear. Thanks for telling us anyway.

  • Reality check!

  • What is that blooping noise in the background? Starter?

  • No, there was a classic tractor with its engine running nearby!

  • If myou can contact the owner of theese buses, i will buy the bus and try to restore it.

  • That would be great, but its quite a challenge! The bus is located with others at the old airfield at Winkleigh in Devon. There are many restored buses there as well those in need of work.A letter addressed there should discover who owns the PD2.

  • I have found out that the man in charge of the site at Winkleigh is Colin Shears and his phone number is 01769 580811. There will be an open day there on 5 October 08 so it would be easy to have a closer look at the bus!

  • I am not even living close to there, but i can maybe fix something anyway.. I would try to find the email, but dont know where to look since i am not in the area.

  • MORE INFO! The site is called West of England Transport Collection and does have a website under that title. You can see photos of some of their vehicles and the home address of Colin Shears. However it says at present there is no e mail address to contact.

  • Oh, Cool! I will do anything so this bus can be restored. I am working on the case.

  • I went to the open day on 5 October 08 and the bus was no longer resting in the wood. Has anyone any info on what has become of it?

  • I have been told that the bus is still on site, but out of public view. Hopefully I may get more info soon!

  • Cool. Looking forward to hear more ;)

  • excellent shot of the bus!
