  • 50 cents? shit...i am moving to thai land.

  • Lol I didn't even notice that person was in a boat until you started talking about canals.

  • 50 cents and probally the best pad thai you will ever have

  • Asians are so efficient! i love how all her ingredients are arms length

  • Is that a banana leaf she is rapping that in?

  • Must resist eating the screen no matter how good food looks....O____O

  • XD you right doki lol

  • all of you american will be freaking rich if you go to Thailand lol

  • HOLY SHIT SHE IS ON A BOAT

  • I'm not sure if washing hands in the water and not washing hands at all, which one's more sanitized?

  • @aimdadalin I ain't eating that, even if it is great.

  • @Desi4evah Don't blame you! lmao!

  • this video is mislabeled.

  • Such a special video , Thank you so much

  • awesome!

  • that looks so delicious.

  • you can't even buy a bag of chips for 50 cents in america

  • Best video ever

  • 50 cents????? That' it. I'm going!

  • I want that instrumental in the video!

  • amazing how she chooses the exactly right temperature of the wok. not even a slight hint of burnt remains on the wok!

  • Wow..nice..I can cook, but not on a boat or i'll just end-up flip over..the deck..

  • a spoonful of MSG??? are you kidding???

  • @KentuckyChicken2 -- MSG is widely used in Asia. The MSG scare in U.S. is massive hype. There are plenty of things that are going to do the average American in before MSG. One main reason why many Americans experience negative reactions to MSG is because they are probably eating way to damned much of it per serving. Most Asians do not consume the same sized portions of MSG based dishes as Americans do per serving. Lay off the sugar fat-ass, then you can come on here and soapbox about MSG.

  • @greatsea

first of all, I'm thin and I'm not from America, and second of all: the Americans aren't the only ones who are "scared" about MSG, fat-ass!!!! It's been proven that it is unhealthy and it makes you want to eat even more....

  • @KentuckyChicken2 1. You are in fact American. 2. You are indeed fat. 3. The latest peer reviewed mainstream scientific consensus on MSG is that there is no noticeable toxicological harm in the regular consumption of MSG. Regarding the claim that it makes you want to eat more, affluent Asians consume almost twice the amount of MSG per serving of food, but have far less instances of obesity than Americans. Americans need very little encouragement from MSG to want to eat more.

  • @greatsea

the first 2 points just prove how stupid and ignorant you are... oh, the 3rd one too...

  • @KentuckyChicken2 not to raid on your parade or anything, but even if there wasn't an msg scarefest, america is indeed the most obese country on earth. most restaurants don't use msg anymore and obesity rates haven't really changed much. americans on average eat three times as much as japanese people and about twice as much as europeans. a medium soda here is a large in uk almost. this is coming from a 1st gen proud american here.

  • @tchykovsky

Fyi, America isn't the most obese country in the world... coutries/islands like Nauru, The cook islands, tonga, samoa or palau are in the first rows, in case you didn't know that!

  • Oh gosh, did you see that she washed her hand in the dirty water of the canal and used her hand after that to grab the noodles???? Not really sanitary but what other choice she's got, right?

  • saw at the end 50 cents, thanks

  • HOW much would this cost from the vendor?

  • I love how she scoops up every drop from the pan.

  • so like what, you give back the plate after eating? wont the seller would hv paddled away by then?

  • @navegamadrid it's a disposable plate...just throw it into the dustbin after eating :-)

  • 50 cents for pork and shrimp that's a bargain

  • So beautiful, I would love to make a trip there in the near future. :)

  • So beautiful and old fashion. Bring back to my trip to Laos/Thailand such beautiul culture and I seen this in person.

  • When visiting Thai restaurants in US, we ask " Do you add canal water?" If not, then it is not original...

  • @wliantono LOL!! Haha

  • "add some beansprouts, then add some msg", is that not kinda depressing on some level? it basically suggests that msg is an important part of thai food

  • @hamandabed well in all southeast asian cooking, msg is pretty essential. my mom doesn't make anything without it. msg isn't a bad ingredient. it's derived from natural sources just like sugar or salt. just read up on it and you will see. not to say you should eat tons of it but it's definitely not bad in moderation.

  • I would pay her to row me around the river, so I could smell the aroma of everyones boat.

  • I find the video enchanting, perhaps it's the myriad of bowls filled with spices and colorful vegetables and meats....or it could be the big lampshade the wonderful cook is wearing to protect her from the sun....Although, I find the cleanliness of it all dubious, but this video is rather magical to watch....I have found that food-borne illnesses can happen anywhere, but, the only water she has is the water under her boat, but, she is aware about keeping her hands clean...LOL!

  • @lemull57 STFU FAGGOT U PUSSY ASS KUNT

  • You must be Mental to eat this....!!!!

How many times, did She wash her hands in the canel..!!

Then with the same hand, handle the food to put in wok...

If that don't give You the Wild Shits.. Then You have a cast iron stomach..

Why do people think Street food is cool..

" Cool Street Food-- Red Hot Tummy "

All water ways Rivers Canels.. Just full of Nasties.

Now in Your Belly...... " Mai Dee "

  • looks delicious

  • 50 cents? wow..that looks delicious...the pad thai at restaurants in the US are like 10 dollars per plate and they don't look half as good and tasty as this lady's pad thai...yum!

  • then thus a very big wave comes... O.O

  • wow how cool

  • she forgot to add the HEAT OF SATAN!!!

  • @00sven00sven00 headbanging too

  • you know what cooking channels need?

    Black Metal

  • I dont think its soy beans she's adding, Its more likely peanuts.

  • Thailand its like $1...add a coke for $.25 and ur good to go

  • lol in thailand pad thai is only 1$

  • pad thai ranges from 7 to 11 dollars in new york city. So I dont know where the hell you live where pad thai costs 15 bucks, but something smells fishy. In a bad way.

  • @ArgoSG In thailand dude padthai is 30-40baht ^^enjoy it!!

  • when will someone invent a tele taster ?

  • This dish cause $1 right now and i know that us people got pad thai at thai restuarant $9 each me too!but you ll know ingredient is import here and the size of the dish different thai eat smaller meal than american:)

  • Whats an amazing video! Thanks for sharing!

  • 50 cents?! what???? I pay $15 for the same thing at my local thai restaurant! I would pay that lady a $5 dollar tip at least for charging so cheap.... or maybe its just american restaurants charge that much

  • @MarkHulsewe no overhead

  • @MarkHulsewe that's because the all that stuff is imported in the states which means extra dollars. Plus stuff in Asia in general are dirt cheap. Even in most of the tourist spots. Its not far from the truth that you can literally go to Asia with $10 American and live like a king.

  • They are soooo lucky they have such an array of beautiful foods/vegs. Here in the US you can only get a decent variety in summer unless u live in Cal/Hawaii/Puerto Rico. They are lucky they live in a tropical area w/all those beautiful fruits/vegs. The bowls looks appetizing, even b4 she made anything.

  • What a beautiful video! I love her whole mise en place. Such an efficient use of space. Graceful..

  • Um... I think that I am getting ready to make this.

  • Wonderful video of the water market. You can tell that this lady and take great pride in making the meals. I lived nad worked in Thailand on/off for a few years (near the Campuchean border.) and for those who are concerned about the food prep - I had wonderful food from all over the country, had great meals and fun conversations with delightful and polite Thai people. I have been sick from food in the USA and once in Asia at a 'California Restaurant', but never had a bad meal in Thailand.

  • @svprovidence you're very fortunate.

  • Book an amazing range of great value hotels in Thailand ,

Save up to 70% with gothaihotels

We have a huge range of hotels and rooms to suit all budgets

  • aw stop complaining she cooks it superbly and makes good food! i would eat her pad thai anytime!

  • MSG is not goooood!!! makes your hair fall out and you blood pressure goes sky high? yeah very healthy mmmm ps i love thai food but MSG is not good

  • 9$ for a bowl of noodles..

  • Wow, awesome video. Thank you for sharing some culture with us. I'd eat that dish in a heartbeat ;)

  • i love it when she washes her hands in the mud water! it adds flavor@!

  • i would die for this right now

  • Man, that's a cool video.

  • I am eating pad thai right now, but I would love to try the one in this video! The fact that she does it all while in a boat is just amazing!

I love that she can just dip her hand in the water to rinse it. :)

  • i ate pad thai all day long in thailand, it was so delicious and fresh and good!....then i had a cheesburger after 3 weeks beeing there....next day i went to the hospital on ko samui.

asian food is so much better, even when its from the street kitchen. my gosh wester fast-food sucks so bad in comparison to the asian "fast-food"

  • soooo hungry.... and for 50 cents?! that's dangerous!

  • I loved this video! Of course I had to notice the fact that she dipped her hand in the canal to wash it, which is gross, but hey that's why you get a scrip for cipro before your vacation, just in case. Still, I love it, and I would eat it anyway.

  • Creative approach for a cooking video. I like something with a little originality. Very cool.

  • I eat a lot of Asian home cooked food. . I also have a Thai cooking book, a Japanese cook book, and Chinish cook book and an Mexican cook book. I prefer that over the American cuisine or over any restaurant cooked meal. As many use MSG that makes me very ill. As I am allergic too it. Was fun watching this video.

  • damn, she's cookin on a boat. She's a boss.

  • awesome!

  • Oh, the floating market was such an amazing sight to see. Can't find any authentic thai food in the states.

  • this is soo cool

  • OMG don't forget the paddle is dirty! hehehe

  • kawaiii soo cool!

  • msg is used as flavoring :)

  • very nice! it looks delicious and i'm hungry. but what sort of "fish sauce"? what's in that sauce? can i buy some somewhere, or do i need to make it...?

  • @leoflores144 fish sauce is just fish sauce bought in stores. you don't make it. it's made from anchovies, and very fishy.

  • @gogoutube thank you =) since i left that comment, i have attempted pad thai twice, and i did check out fish sauce. anchovies, mackerel and herring, i think...probably whatever's biting when they produce it. also, the very idea of fish sauce ran counter to my cooking instincts! i was taught to eliminate this flavor by cooking fish as freshly as possible, and lo and behold...there is a sauce whereby you can ADD this flavor to a dish. who knew? all of east asia, apparently. thanks, globalism! -leo

  • add a dash of MSG? lol

  • the reason thais live by canal isnt because the market would come to them. Duh. XD.

its because so they can use canal's water to live on. and after alot of people live near the canal, they started to have floating market so it would be more convenient for the shoppers to buy goods. (:

  • wow it looks delicious :D and awww, only for 50 cents? that is soo cheap!

  • MSG?

  • look so good

  • I would eat that any day and yes would choose that over a greasy hamburger by far! That looks so yummy! I'd want a bunch of hot peppers in mine please :)

  • they use fish sauce, it smells like my ex-wifes vagina.

  • @rdf7777 wow....bet u lick thm whn ur inlove. but when you break off, suddently it smells soo bad

  • I feel sorry for her. She tries to save every piece of spice she can! ;_;

  • 50 CENTS!!!

I would of give her $10 dollars for her great service of cooking in the River!

I would really like to see Thai people work here. Here theirs allot of rivers and allot of catfishes and others fishes that they can make a delicious Pad Thai with delicious spices.

Thai food is better than hamburgers or sloppy joe crap!

Come here! In TEXAS!! Where it Rains, it Gushes! And the Rivers Flow up to 5 feet or more!

  • I love food and Thai food is one of my favorites, One of my goals is to Thailand.

  • Wow.. youtube has everything.. I'll remind myself when I am home alone without a girl around, I'll just go to youtube and look up cooking..

  • Yes, everyone make sure you only eat in the restaurant of your 5 star hotels if you ever make it out of your sanitary bubble and get to thailand...

  • @digitalboy2020 no way there are some bad street vendors but most are ok i got food poisoning in thailand but was from the plane food not street vendors

  • @airlocka yeah cheers, sarcasm obviously doesn't come across in comment form

  • @digitalboy2020 yeh mate it does when i read that was really tired had a laugh at myself tonight though

  • Great if you want food poisoning. There's another on YT that shows you how to cook this properly. Ambient protein. left out in the open, on top of hot veg? I tried to post the link but wasn't allowed. Gd luck and happy eating.

  • Great if you want food poisoning. There's another on YT that shows you how to cook this properly. I tried to post the link but wasn't allowed. Gd luck and happy eating.

  • lovely but washing in the river noooooooo . Have you seen the water in those rivers

  • Great recipe (I like the soy beans) but... OMG!! She washed her hands in the river!! I was in a floating market in Thailand when I was 11 and saw someone, um... do something I can't repeat here in the river. Gross...

  • note in thailand the money is different 50 cents is like somewhere between 5 dollars to 10 dollars in thailand

  • @EckoOwnage That's not true. Only street food and labor are cheap in Thailand, other things (in the same quality) are quite equal to the States. Although Bangkok's minimum wage is 215 Baht ($7) per day (8 hours) while it is around $7 per hour in the US, but that does not mean everything in Thailand is 8 times cheaper than in the US. If you go eating that dish in a restaurant like you do in the States, it will cost you several dollars, not 50 cents!

  • The music and the video perfectly matches.

I like how she decorates her shop with all colorfull ingridients.

  • That looks fabulous...

  • perfection

  • I liked it thank you for share video.

  • wow! i just paid almost $9.89 plus a $2.00 tip for this dish at a restaurant in denver colorado.

  • What a great video!!!

  • Wow, thank you!

    0:52 I think it's peanut! =)

  • @pmiinimi haha,i think its soy bean, coz in asia, peanuts normally comes with the shell

  • magnificent

  • thats so cool how the are cooking on a boat

  • jeez 50 cents here would only pay for the lime wedge!

  • Actually the problem with MSG is that people tend to add too much. Which causes the same things high sodium diets cause. Most people I know who cook with MSG also add salt. MSG = mono sodium glutamate. It's an amino acid modified with an additional sodium group. sodium = salt. Hence, you're eating way more salt than you should.

  • wow on a boat!

  • now this is the real pad thai that i also make :) with tamarind, soooo good...

  • Omg she blew her nose with her hand while the other hand stiring the noodles, then touched dirty brown water and Threw in bean sprouts with the hand she used to blow her nose with. The oar lays right in front of all the food ingrediants.......gross.

  • Nice vid

  • Hey averybody,I'm thai people,It's not MSG'in this vid she use chicken seasoning powder :-)

  • I've been making pad thai for almost 6 months. It's one of my favorite asian dishes. It's so diverse, you can put almost anything you want in it.

  • 25 -30 bath for thai people LOL

  • just love this video

  • hahahah she on the boat making it...50cent an she come to u...no gas worries...hahah thats thug ass shit...ooo a boat nmaking u food an she will come back tomrrow.dammm u got it made...

  • โหมโรงปฐมดุสิต เพราะมาก

  • i'd still eat her food even she washed her hand in the water. For sure the cooking killed the germs.

  • 50 cents? A scoop of ice cream @ Rite Aid costs more than that!!!!

  • Wonderful video.

  • God damn that looks DELICIOUS. Not like american thai food, that's just balls out real stuff right there.

  • What is so "fresh" about MSG? Yuck.

  • @halliganj2222 MSG has a bad reputation in the US because of a scare in the 90s, but do some research because that reputation is mostly unfounded. It's merely a victim of xenophobia and 'fear of the unfamiliar' as its not used in traditional American cooking. It's merely a seasoning like salt and pepper with it's own character. There are some people with an allergy to it, and in that case one should stay away. However, at its worst it's linked to obesity much like salt is linked to heart disease

  • @Ombrenuit. Point taken (about the overreaction.....MSG is not THAT bad) but when consumed on an empty stomach, people with asthma can develop such symptoms as numbness, burning sensation, tingling, facial pressure or tightness, chest pain, headache, nausea, rapid heartbeat, drowsiness and weakness. My point is.....that the dish is great without the MSG.....so why bother.

  • @halliganj2222 yeah, I've never experienced any of those symptoms (lived in Asia for a year and had no idea my girlfriend was cooking with it regularly till I got back to the states and was looking it up online), and I don't choose to eat it here. But I am making the argument that I feel its reputation is just a little unjustified and if one likes it, there is nothing wrong with that.

  • that looks so good and its so fresh too! thats even better that its fresh. Cant beat the price either.

  • I would like to tell you all Thai food is very cheap

and If you worry about dirty I want to tell you

You all can eat Hamburgers it's a Junk food !!

Hamburger meat is very dirty and then lets have a look!!

If this Pad Thai dirty she can be arrest by the police

  • I would have tipped her so she wouldn't have to work for a month.

  • That is serious fuckin biz right there! Granny ain't playin around. She sure the hell does those dishes right in that river, you know she does. Would I eat it? Hell yes I would, but only if I was boarding the plane to the USA within 20 minutes so that an american doctor could fix me!

  • It's nice that you actually got this

    nice clip. >_^

  • Bt 25, about the right price for this simple, great dish! [that is 50p to the Brits out there]

  • hygiene means something different in southeast asia...sure it's 50 cents but u may pay later in the hotel by shitting your guts out

  • beauty and artform are in the eye of the beholder, when done well together, moves me almost to tears. 50 cents makes me want to cry! I would gladly pay 3X the amount of a movie ticket just to sit on the end of her boat while she worked for 2hours

  • That was awesome! I can't believe she did all that in a tight little boat and didn't drop anything overboard!

  • its realy cheap.. .and the food is awesome!!! im realy missing thailand!!

  • what??? 50 cent? thai bath??

  • wow, we sure doesn't get all that top here in the u.s. for sure not where i'm at.

  • us westerners would think this is unhygenic but i dont care, id still try it.

  • OK folks I wouldn't want eat her food cause at 1:50, she just washed her right hand on the river. Which is probably polluted with all sorts of diseases. Aftwards she handles the food,,,,,Yuck!!!!
