wow, i learned this back in the 60s, i had the album it was on, i think it might've been called God Bless the Grass? i never forgot the lyrics, even though it's a long song. I guess because each verse just follows logically from the one before it.Back in the 90s i once got up and performed it at an Earth Day impromptu. One of the performers asked if anyone wanted to use her guitar to sing anything,i thought of that song and just got up and sang it without forgetting any words. good song.thanks

I saw this performed on Sesame Street a long time ago with my kids and hadn't been able to find it since. Thanks so much for posting it! The message is still as powerful today as it was when I first heard this.
