  • I lived on dates this winter..Freelee made them seem so ok and with the way she looks, I trusted it! I love me some dates..so easy to carry around and I always have a stash..oh no now someone can mug me knowing that..more important than my money..LOL.. I love to eat them during my run too that I go on 15 miles at a time! I just think other high water content fruits are great too! So when you only have dates that is too drying for me.

  • @vicky2c I agree that dates are awesome and incredibly convenient, but I love juicy fruits too. Mangos, papaya, persimmons, etc. love 'em! I usually drink significantly more water when I'm eating dates, and eat them with cucumbers and celery. They are incredibly tasty (and "juicier") to eat with cukes and celery! :D

  • @Consistency87 Even the refined stuff isn't quit as much of a vilain as people make it out to be. Could it be because they add their sugar-coated dates to fatty cakes, pastries, and pies? ;) Skip all that and get it fresh from the trees though. Mother Nature made them sweet enough. :)

  • omg vegan nazi progaganda again!!! fruit makes u fat and animal product make u thin and healthy dont you know!?

  • How much % of the calories in dates are fro, fat?

  • @Z47Z47T The percent of calories coming from fat from dates, in terms of total calories, is very low: approximately 1-2%. Definitely not enough to live on forever. But mixing in other fruits and veggies over time should put you at a healthy 5%-10% of total calories coming from fat.

  • @RealRawResults : Actually, I've heard of people doing 90/5/5 diets for long periods of time and not having any problems.

I'm gonna sub you by the way

  • @Z47Z47T Thanks so much for the subbing! Definitely doing 90/5/5 is no problem at all, great stuff. I just wouldn't recommend eating ONLY dates as they are a little short on essential fatty acids. As long as you're not eating a mono diet of dates for long periods of time, no worries!

  • oh this video made me laugh in the beginning .. so funny

  • I wish you were sitting with me in the office today when my collegaue came to see me and saw my fruitbowl full of bananas, apples, kiwi, dates.....he told me if you eat all that you'll put on fat, while he was munching away on a greesy, ham and cheese croissant and gulping down some diet fizzy drink. I told him, what about his lunch and that drink? hahahhahahahaha his answer shoot out with crambles of his mouth and pointing on the bottle 'can't you see, it says DIET' hhahhahahhahahhahahhaha

  • @Viktoire25 Gaining or losing weight is just simply calories in VS calories out, it doesn't matter WHERE the calories are coming from. If bananas, apples, kiwi, and dates are the ONLY foods you eat, then yes, you can eat loads of them and not gain weight. Don Gorske eats Big Macs for 90% of his solid food intake and HE'S not fat. He's also been getting away with it for over 40 years and has no apparent health problems.

  • @rpmangin That being said, yes, there are theories out there as to how your body treats certain calories differently (ie, extra carb calories have a 23% loss in conversion to stored fat VS a 3% loss for dietary fat calories), but in the end, it's all about calories in vs calories out.

  • @rpmangin I disagree, but thank you for sharing your thoughts. I'd like to see a blood/lipid panel of Don Gorske. Sounds to me like the killed 18-25 year old soldiers in Vietnam they did autopsies on back in the 60's/70's. They seemed to be in peak health and condition yet most had severe arterial clogging and heart issues. Hmmm....People can calorie restrict and eat big macs (one is only 550 calories) and stay lean but that doesn't equate to health let alone thriving.

  • duuude i eat like nearly half a kilo of dates a day is that bad???

  • @SiKeStHaRdEsT1 No way! If I were eating only dates for a day I'd probably eat around 1.25 kilos of them, maybe more if they were really wet and fresh. Just keep your total calories below 10% on average and you're good to go!

  • Dates have a GI of 45...that's pretty good ;)

  • love dates, and bananas , just can't get enough of them

    :)

  • Dates are sugar pills! T-SHIRT!!! Lulz I like your tags, I gotta learn from the pro's on how to get my rating's up. Oh yeah I also think it has A LOT to do with being "personal" I.E. Showing myself. x) ....... I just shared this vid, on my DATE PUDDING VID! xD
