I had the acrysof IQ SN60WF...21.0 D put in 2.5 weeks ago. Distance vision was restored, need glasses for reading...normal,the only thing is on the left side of eye(incision side),I keep seeing a kind of glare, distortion(driving me crazy).Am I seeing the side of lens?Am I seeing the incision?Am I seeing liquid still in the eye? Will this go away.I put sun glasses on and it all goes away,If i put reading glases on and it all goes away...hmmm? Any info greatly appreciated.Surgeon on vacation....
Sushruta is the father of surgery. 2600 years ago he and health scientists of his time conducted surgeries like cesareans, cataract, fractures and urinary stones. Usage of anaesthesia was well known in ancient India. Dental (tooth extraction) and Rhinoplasty (nose job) surgery was also being done. During vedic times, a person who committed adultery had his nose cut off ! Ouch! Search ancient Indian surgery.
The wires hold the intraocular lens in a centered and fixed position. The lens has a fixed focal length. Depending on the lifestyle of the patient ... hobbies, work, etc. the actual focal length is discussed with the patient.
Hi. If the crystalline in the eye is a morphing lens, that changes degree to focus different objusts along variable distances, how can the intra ocular lens make this work? Have the patient loss completly the ability to focus different distances? Have the patient to use several glasses to variable distances to be able to get focus?
yes, after my post above I did research and found that today they have a kind of gelatin lens able to chage the angle to close or distance focus, moved by action of muscles on eye, and conected by wires. Before that there was multi focal lens implant, that generate two images, one for close and other for distance focus, but middle range was a problem, since had just two options.
They say a HUMAN eye is much like a CAMERA.
I disagree. I believe a CAMERA is much like a HUMAN eye. :)

i am assuming that the lens is manipulated for focus via the wires placed along the muscles in the iris once the lens is in place
