omg, i finally get it. the certain people are a freaking cult! i can see the real meaning behind the song, but if i have to be a 'certain people' person, forget it (: beautiful song, glee didn't ruin it. its impossible to ruin this song, but i also prefer the original (because i always love originals the most) beautifully interpretet glee, so thats why i listen to this version, its also very beautiful.

i've always liked this song. im not a believer in god but i wish i did. its one of those songs that is thought provoking. This song makes me reflect on life and on humanity. If god was a person would it be that girl who is being laughed at, would it be that boy being beaten, would it be that guy asking for change, would it be that old woman who is struggling. we are absorbed in our own lives do we really consider those less fortunate. its inspiring but is it inspiring enough to make us change?

@soozet01 If you wish that you believed in god, then go ahead. Doesn't have to be the Judeo-Christian god. There is great spirituality in everything. Forget organized religion. Take up shinto privately for a week. Try Buddhism. Be a Hindu. Just studying science makes you realize the vastness of the cosmos and how insignificant you are. @soozet01 I'm not a Christian either, and I don't really understand why people act so shocked when I say so. It would be ten times easier for me to believe in god, but being brought up the way I was, and having read the bible and not agreed with all of it, I think I should be respected. But in my community, I'm constantly having people tell me I'm going to hell and being shunned by people who know. I think some people need to think about what they're doing to people and not just god.

@missrandom1996 I understand what you mean. I'm a christian, my dad's a pastor, but the one thing I don't like about some of these Christians is how they treat non christians. Telling them they're gonna go to hell, the things they do aren't god's will, or how superior they are for being christian. That is what's actually pushing them away from christianity because it makes them feel insecure. I would much rather get to know somebody as a person rather than by their religion.

When I think back to my childhood, this song is the first song that comes into mind. I've never been a huge christian, or believed in god for a matter of fact, but I love this song.
