I don't know if he actually ever did this image on the etch A sketch, but the video was a montage. Like he would have had a steady camera for 100+ hours filming this thing with the exact lightning and angle.

Besides, 100 hours in 3 minutes means he had to accelerate it 2000 times, or one hour in less than 2 seconds... I bet you wouldn't see his fingers moving.
