  • Blame it to the Ramones. That kid got influenced by Ramones' I wanna sniff some glue.

  • a bunch of fuckin losers....

  • Don't know about that stuff he was inhaling though. Not so healthy.

  • It's a tough nasty world out there. It's a good thing these kids have found each other and stuck together.

  • @dirtynuke True that.

  • I hate when people label kids like these as dirty, scum, lazy, stupid, and hopeless. WHo are you to judge them for their life choices? You don't know what kind of people they are.

  • "as long as they have respect for the house."

so why does it look like a complete garbage dump? i'm an old punk, been through some shit, been around alot of this. here's the thing: being homeless doesn't mean being disgusting. things are the way they are for a reason, and the condition of their surroundings is proof of that.

  • you can get paid to live in Paris and draw if you go to college

  • me and this kid have the same bithday 9-21

  • street punks

  • fuck whip its

  • I bet its been done and all but...I'd like to see a documentary where the person actually lives like them...sure hear thier points of view and why they became squatters. Maybe its a dumb idea...but..i'd watch it

Or a squatter carrying a camera and filming there own life..but then agian..there is some flaws with that idea....idk...

  • @SapphireRapgirl124

    you're talking about an ethnographist.

the closest i've seen here on youtube is a vancouver homeless doc...search 'streets of plenty vancouver homeless' and perhaps you may wanna check it out.

  • where could i find them so i could squat some where

  • it's not the guy's house, it's an abandoned house and he happened to be the 1st one to squat in it so now he says it's his

  • livein the life

  • hahaha crustiess. i used to squat alot too. its liberating and it is enjoyable .of course it makes it alot easier being fucked up one way or another, especially if the place u found is cold as fuuuck

  • I remember whippets, used to get them at High on the Hill outside Cincinnati.

  • 6:48 i think the guy has a waterfall bong in his hand

  • It is sad to see a kid live in a condition and be introduced into drugs... this is not funny and this guy is a fool to invite someone to come and live in his dirty house....!!!!!!

  • @stacier333 dude all squats r dirty trust me man this one looks pretty sweet from where im sat and theres nothing wrong about introducing people to drugs people cant b nieve all there lives

  • @davethepunk I am sure they are all not worthy to stay at. I just pray that Jesus comes and saves a broken heart somewhere in this house. You don't need to realize that this is a bad world by doing drugs, go out there and view the streets and the people.

  • fucked up, man. Dudes talking about letting the kids crash there so they can make something out of their lives and he's sittiing there getting them high.

  • @smo1765 i dont know if hes GETTING them high, i think they just happen to BE getting high, and besides what say does he have over the matter. he was nice enough to put a roof over there heads

  • Check out our new video about homeless youth in Orange County, CA.

  • they'll grow out of it

  • I think people need to shut the fuck up and stop trying to figure out reasons as to why squatters/travellers are bad people. Let me tell you something, all of you negative people out there who go out of their way to write something insulting, I came up in a decent home..sure had my problems, but always was taken care of...at one point, I would rather hang out with them over regular kids. Why? The people who have everything are selfish ...the people who have the least, share all theyve got

  • That girl looks so sick.

  • the kid in the ramones t-shirt looks alot like the real jay adams wen he was young and even still today kinda sounds like him to

  • This was amazing.

  • Most of these kids have come from severely dysfunctional and abusive homes.Until you have either worked with or helped these kids better their situations, I would say its best not to judge them so harshly.and to Miss JustineLG you are just so ignorant, its unbelievable

  • responsibility makes you irresponsible. money makes you poor. soap makes you dirty. security makes you insecure. laws make you unlawful. civilization makes you uncivilized. houses make you homeless. school makes you stupid. working makes you lazy. ..have some respect for yourself. stop being a lazy prostitute. quit your job and get a life. ..we are living in the dark ages where everything is the opposite. when we get really awesome, we happily live without, on purpose. urban camp for life.

  • what are you trying to say exactly? urban camp life?

  • @takepills You kick ass, dude. Have you ever been in a squat?

  • know1 should judge them you dont know there pass and what lead them to were they are

  • they shouldn't blame others . . . that leads to failure

  • live like they live with no help from no1,put yourself in there shoes you wouldnt be saying that.

  • we take any one in that needs help and tell them everything they need to know to be safe. we tend to be one big family. We dont judge your family please dont judge ours

  • we constantly need to make sure cops wont show up. We have set rules on how we treat one another. We accept alot but when you fuck up you fuck up. We tell one another where foods at and when to get it. We tell traveling kids where to get gear and medical ect ect

  • it's not about not knowing better or having low self esteem it's about freedom for alot of kids. It's an adventure in a half sure enough times are testing but you feel more accomplished at the end of the day. You bust your ass out there, it's not fun and games even though you think were lazy

  • Great insight.

I sympathize the fact that the world is corrupt and working for "the man" may seem immoral to an extent, but you must either work for "the man," or beg from someone else who does... which is worse? Is it worth it?

  • In life you either work for someone else and maintain your honor and dignity, or you become their ass clown.

  • Is it that hard to get a fucking job? Especially in Santa Monica...

  • I hung out with the San Fransisco squatter punks for a week and it was a nice little adventure but I could not last more than a week living like them -dirty and panhandling in the rain. : )

  • adventures!!

  • homelesness isnt a synonym for filth.

you can be poor and homeless but still keep good hygeine.

for example: throw trash away, wash yourslef, etc.

this is the thing that bothers me about these kids. they live in such a filthy environment. they should have some self respect and throw trash where it belongs, not on the floor of their "home". and maybe take a shower. its not hard to find water.

  • You're right about the shower-you can take a shower in downtown L.A for a dollar

  • i cant believe how heartless you are as to criticize these kids for the state they live in.

do you think if their PARENTS taught them any self respect, they would be living on the STREET?

  • people just need to understand that squatters dont normally care about themselves or societys norms & consequently dont care about the world around them nor keeping themselves or the world clean. Some transients do take showers and dress well enough to fit into society because they care enough about themselves, can make money easily, & have the strength to rise above their situations. However we shouldnt judge the people who dont have that strength or those cares but provide help if its wanted

  • wow that suxs...

    but kickass dress wear.

  • the interviewer is a dick. he was implying that the squatters should go back home to "mom," totally not understanding where these kids were coming from. you could tell he wanted to leave... i bet he wasn't there an hour.

  • I hate a lot of these interviewers, they can afford all that camera and recording equipment but never seem to buy food or anything for the homeless kids in these movies. They're self righteous, scum. Fuck the media.

  • its all fun and games til you get some staph or scabie babies!!!

at least LA has some nice weather and santa monica has lots of free food making it home of the homeless.and if you get off the street a house only costs 900000 to start

  • When was this video made?

  • yeah when was it made?

  • the copyright says 2005 so probably around that time

  • i used to see the kid at like 1:35-2:45(with the operation ivy shirt...badass band lol)anyhow i used too see him at shows back in the day he was pretty chill

  • I grew up in LA and use to hang with gutter punks. They are the most damaged, innocent people.

It is really very sad, because many,

most of them come from abusive homes, and are either kicked out, or are forced to leave.

DEUCEEBRIUS, yes, your right about the girl, you see pretty girls who "Don't belong there", on the streets, all the time. That's just the way it is. They are a victim of circumstance.

  • It doesn't seem like this is the case for these kids but many people are simply morally opposed to paying money for shelter or people making money off of other people's survival. I don't see anything wrong with that.

  • I feel bad for all of them that don't enjoy squatting, but especially that girl. She, more than anyone, doesn't belong on the streets. Shit, she is so likely to get raped- especially since she doesn't look as dirty as everyone else. One other thing- look out for graffiti writers! they won't usually jump you, but they will get a laugh out of tagging you while you sleep or slapping your face with a sticker. I don't do that to people; though it is funny.

  • I don't understand your reasoning. Theres like 3 girls and 2 guys in this video. But the one girl whose not punk you say doesn't belong there... She might be the toughest person of them all

  • I meant that she didn't belong there because she was kicked out rather than chose to leave. She looked cleaner and probably smelled a little better than the other girls which, at least I think, would make her a more likely victim of rape. If she were covered in filth and dirt, rapists may not assault her- but I don't really know anything. She is quite tough to make it out there though.

  • Fuck Bu$h and his cronies. He has done nothing to help improve the situation so kids don't runaway or get kicked out of their house.

  • when i first saw that ramones shirt, i was like oh my god. thats so 30 years ago...

  • fuck you. seriously, just go fucking shoot yourself. people dont want to hire squatters. ive been there, and i can definitely tell you havent.

  • There's a reason their homeless.

Their lazy littblahblahblahblah>>>>>>>>> Ok, Mr Expert On the Job Economy, what can they do to get hired?

  • LET ME EXPLAIN....

I am not saying their BAD people.

Of course people wont hire them...

They need to get wit the Gov. programs and be a foster kid.. I know it sucks, but it's their ONLY CHANCE.

Then, they can get a JOB and EDUCATION.

WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO GET FROM LIVING IN A SHITTY OLD BUILDING DOING DRUGS!?!??!?!

  • I don't know about them, but my friend was homeless since 13 because his dad was really abusive. And when he would go to the cops they would send him back home. They said they had no proof so they had to send him back. So he spent his teens squatting and hiding away from the cops. If he got a job they would be able to track him down and arrest him., then bring him back home. So it's not always as easy as you're saying.

  • A life that they feel suits them better. But they don't have my drug of choice, so I feel bad for them.

  • I've actually considered this while lying comfortably in my bedroom in the suburbs of DC under my parent's roof pondering my future- perhaps they could work in dumps(whatever they do there...), garbage trucks, maybe constuction, I can't recall any others off the top of my head. Good luck to them.

  • Pilsbury is right yes it sucks for them but there young kids, there able but not willing to turn there lives around, they all sound content, "Its ok living here" no one who actually wanted to turn there life around would say that about living in that shit hole. They need to get into a government or even a church(they will help) before its too late.

  • Yeah, I was just saying that in the case of them wanting to change things, those are jobs where nobody gives a damn if you stink or don't practice a single form of hygeine meaning they could probably keep it.

  • thank you :)

  • I wonder if they applied if they could get an abandoned house and fix it up. disgusting. I would rather work and get a car to sleep in if I became homeless.

  • this is a depressing way to live. you get caught up on drugs and alcohol cause there the constant feeling of no future. land of the free home of the brave? bollocks!

  • The U.S. will spend tens of thousands of dollars a year to lock these kids up after they commit a crime, but when they're in a bad situation at home or end up on the street, we throw peanuts at them in terms of social services. This is a travesty! Think about these Americans who need our help the next time Uncle Sam gives a great big aid check to israel.

  • I'm asking the government why "....there's a lot of homeless people, but they build a lot of prison...." ??

  • thats not hardship

    thats nice as fuck

theres way worse places to live

  • "Wha wha wha wha."

That the sound of brain cells dying.

  • best movie ever XD

  • That's really got to suck. And smell really bad, too. I can't imagine the smell.

  • This is sad to me; it makes me feel bad that anyone has to go through hardship like this. Any hardship is tough to watch someone going through, and this is no exception. I wish all those kids well!

  • Cool man, I was one of those punks when I was a teen, now off the street and with a house of my own. You don't really understand the lifestyle unless you live it

  • Thanks for sharing this...

  • I thought the dude said, "as long as they have respect for the house" -- but the squat is so filthy? respect? clean it up, that's respect, i mean I feel for all of them but, don't be saying "respect the house" then keep it that dirty... that's where you sleep and shit. only my 2 cents worth...

  • In totall agreement with you here, they have a choice not to live in a dump and so should clean it up.

  • "Take it from me guys", stay away from H!

  • thanks for posting- 1.2 million kids live on usa streets.

and rising. check out film- 'streetwise'-

  • It's a Punk thing,symbolism y'know.

  • I REALLY hate being a dick about this, but what the fuck is up with the British flag on that guy's jacket?

  • I dunno but isn't it a great flag???

  • "Great"? No. Ironic or Moronic (that American anarchists would wear British Flags)? Yes.

  • thank you for posting this
