Actually, VNs do have music, and Umineko's soundtrack is just AMAZING! Anyway, if you ever do want to try the VN just tell me your e-mail and I can help you. Until then, enjoy the bits of it that the anime does cover.

Visual Novel, pretty much a book with pictures and music that you read on your computer. The anime for Umineko (and Higurashi for that matter) were orignally VNs. So far the Umineko anime has cut a lot of really neat things from the VN, so I HIGHLY reccomend you give it a try if you can.

Not a problem, I had the events of VN Episode 4 spoiled for me before I read it, it was a bit sad haha. Believe me though, things are about to get CRAZY!

I considered that she ended up fleeing to Kuwadorian (and even caused a certain incident in 1998), but so did Eva, and if we assume that Battler was right and Eva was the episode 3 culprit... well, I doubt Jessica survived. Just to clarify, have you read the VN or just the anime? I want to avoid spoiling you if you haven't read past this point LOL

Yes, that's a theory I had for a while. Just seems a little odd for her to just go unmentioned, but according to the 1998 segments, Eva was the only one left alive. In other words, even if Jessica had been in on it, she was betrayed. If she had somehow survived, I doubt she could do much with those eyes anyway...
