  • I played next to this guy in the National Youth Band of Canada when he was 17 or 18 and we was fantastic then. He definitely deserves that Canadian Brass gig.

  • Wow. that guy's amazing.

  • he is the new trombonist of the Canadian Brass

  • @jbiggity4 Seriously??!!! It's about time they got a new one...

  • @jbiggity4 yeah.. I just looked it up. That's awesome.

  • Scottie - Keith is awesome.I saw him play with the Winnipeg Wind Ensemble when he was in grade 12. May I have permission to repost these two vids on my page (with credit to you, of course).

    Thanks for posting!

  • really excited to be going here next year!

  • is this a university orchestra? it's really good...

of course not only the orchestra, the trombonist is also great! cause of that i expect it to be at a university! they're all too young to be professionals...

  • im doing this for an all-state audition this year. any tips?

  • @jenkus93 you're doing this for all-state? In georgia, (where i'm at) they give you two crappy contrasting etudes for all-state. Well anyways the one thing that I read up on is that as you play on your first entrance, picture superman like flying through a brick wall or something. I thought that really helped because it gives a nice big confident sound right off the bat and it will catch the judges attention. Other than that I can't really think of anything else.

  • oh lol thanks!

  • @jammastermatt I absolutely love that superman image. Hehe, seems like it could help me with getting a nice big sound. I'm going to think of that next time I play a piece like this :D. And yeah, all-state auditions go the same way for me, but I hear they differ from state to state.

I played this concerto for Solo&Ensemble last year, and if only I were as good as this young man is. I'm getting there, though. Maybe one day I'll sound like that.

  • @jenkus93 I too, am currently working on this, but for a concerto competition.

  • oh cool. im having difficulties in the triplets at the end, but i just started it, so im not worried yet.
