The judges didn't even mention her vocal, or even the performance itself. They latched on to the whole "unreleased" aspect of the song and beat it to death. They knew Haley was going to have an undeniable moment with "House of the Rising Sun" and they didn't want her to have two good performances in one night. They were trying to subjugate her to the rest, but the voters saw through it.

I think the chorus "you and I" was repeated too many times, but Haley sings the whole song near perfection, and it is too bad the judges have to get hung up on the fact that the song is not that familiar to everyone. Steven said it well when he said Haley was one perfect song choice away from being the American Idol.

Idol is the most pointless show out right now. This girl can really sing, but she'll never be a true star because there are so many singer out right now. Just look at the last few winners of this show, also to say that her cover of You and I is better is just false. No matter the case a cover will never be better due to the fact that only the real singer of the song knows how it should be sung. Haley's is great but it lacks the passion that Lady Gaga puts into it because it her song.

I especially love it when she's going back and forth with the back up singers. That was impeccable! The only part I didn't like was when she went really low like 40 seconds into the song.
