  • @ Jason- Know your place. I met your coach, Benji when I was just a kid at a Lion's Club where he is from when he was just starting his career. He inspired me to try juggling and at 10 or younger I could juggle three pins without a coach. Never forget where you came from or how you got your start. It will make for a lonely life down the road.

  • @Jason- Know your place. I saw your teacher, Benji at a local Lion's Club in the town he was from when he was just starting out. I was just a kid but never forgot his talent. He inspired me to try juggling and at 10 or younger I could juggle three pins without a coach. Never forget where you came from or how you got your start. It makes for a lonely life down the road.

  • @Presdaddy11 Pins huh?

  • at 4:20 in the video the clock says 4:20 ha

  • sdfsdfs

  • Juggling should be an idiot event.

  • He is amazing!!!!!

  • Hilarious....

  • He's such an ass.... and everybody just LOVES him for it !!!! He's earned it, too.

  • I love that routine, it was one of the first juggling videos on my computer when I first started. After knowing (part of) the story behind it I liked it even more..

    A classic

  • great!!

  • I think he had every right to put that act together that act alone was very hard from a true professional thanks Jason you had me rolling

  • At 3:07, what's that called? Is it a siteswap?

  • @Mburnett27 4x6 if you are still wondering...

  • Woah did THE Jason Garfield just drop a ball in his performance. Just kidding. That was an amazing job, well done.

  • @Mburnett27 it was a trick of the eye,it never hit the floor ;)

  • Did he miss a few balls on purpose? It seemed almost routine when he missed one.

  • holy crap! which!

  • truly amazing

  • I'm sorry, I think I saw this wrong. Did you just SMILE?

  • hello, if you're still looking in here, mind answering me a question?

What do you think of high level juggling in a performance environment - say for example cirque du soleil or other circuses that strive to be high quality entertainment?

  • hello, if you're still looking in here, mind answering me a question?

  • dude, that was awesome. good job.

  • After watching this video, I can't watch competition video of Benjy Hill anymore without laughing. Interpret that any way you want.

  • I can't watch video of Benjy Hill anymore without thinking of this video and laughing.

  • its truely unfortunate that your performance here isnt genuine. you look like you are having....fun. imagine that.

  • this is something i can appriciate.

  • amazing juggling moves u make it look easy

  • amazing juggling moves u make it look easy

  • Because in 2000 he got second place for being over time... So now he mocked everything with the clock and all...

  • Some of you are a bit thick. Its obviously a parody of everything he despises as far as the presentation goes. The only difference is Jason actually throws in the highest technically ability with it.

  • I'm confused. This routine is contrary to everything Jason believes in. How did he come up with something like this??

  • @Juggler1097 are you familiar with the term sarcasm? look at his 2000 competition routine

  • Are you supposed to look like a fag in this routine or you back in '02 weren't such a circus-hater...I prefer the egotistical attitude you have and temperemental attitude you have now towards juggling..than a faggety attitude. =)

  • i think its just part of the routine. =)

  • @jlspma He's making fun of it you retard.

  • Jason you're just an angry circus-hater.. and its ok you dont like circus' stuff but you're just mocking on other people. You are not the best, you'll never be.

  • then prove him wrong by making a video of someone doing better. im not trying to prove you wrong its just hes the best ive seen and id like to see someone top it

  • For someone who hates the circus, that was pretty... pretty.

  • He's mocking people who juggle like circus clowns. He's not so much into the superfluous entertainment that goes into a juggling act. He's more about standing in one place and doing things that most people can't do. Jason doesn't need to move around a lot to impress people. This routine is his way of showing people that he can do the dance-around-the-stage stuff too. He just prefers not to because it isn't his style. I just wish he'd have more respect for people who like this kind of act.

  • Ok, for someone who wants juggling to be serious... he makes fun of a kind of juggling at a serious competition?

  • @kcg5000 and wins 1st place at the same time. What does that tell you?

  • well, nothing. I dont care if it won, just the reasoning, or lack of, behind it.

Most people, seeing any video you are in, make quick judgements. The first is the size of your public ego.

I cant think of any major sports star who acts and speaks like you do,.

  • @JasonRGarfield Tells me he's one of the best out there that's for sure.

  • @kcg5000 Oh shut up he's one of the best there is.

  • @kcg5000 Garfield is kind of a dark S.O.B. in style, but this performance is actually brilliant. He's simultaneously mocking himself AND the IJA. He's playing their game AND beating them at it. The backstory involves him being a few seconds over the official time limit in a previous competition and having his technical superiority go half acknowledged. He is a useful critic to a staid organization. Had the pleasure of seeing this live. Audience loved his attitude and understood the context.

  • @EveryPennyofIt I have just stumbled across Garfield (by way of Chris Bliss). In his Bliss video he mocks Bliss. In this vid he mocks this style of juggling. On his site he mocks other jugglers and "ignorant" audience members. From my amateur psychologist's armchair it seems like this guy has a *major* chip on his shoulder and that really makes liking him as a performer difficult.

  • @getkristan He wants people to recognize that juggling isn't just performing like they do in the circus, I don't think he has as much of a problem with circus performers as he has a problem with people thinking that is all there is to juggling and not understanding the technical difficulties that go with it. If more people realized how difficult technical juggling was and didn't think you had to eat apples to do it he probably wouldn't come off like that.

  • @wvb93 Way to do your research.

  • @wvb93 Way to do your research. Seriously.

  • @wvb93 Oh my god, if this is not a performance WTF IT IS??? This kids, this kids...

  • @EveryPennyofIt A few seconds? I thought it was like 4 minutes. I did watch this video immedietly after watching his competition routine from 2000 and as soon as I saw the clock and him run out on stage actually smiling I looked outside and waited for the sun to eclipse and the apocolypse to begin lol.

  • @EveryPennyofIt your exactly right, i was thinking the same thing!

  • For me the best of Jason Garfield. Very good routine.

  • I know EXACTLY who he is mocking in this video! Thanks for the laugh, Jason -- it was a BLAST! This is going on my iPod today!

  • That was SO FREAKIN' FUNNY! And I know EXACTLY who he was making fun of during the Pointer Sisters music bits. Thanks, Jason!! Can't believe it took me 7 years to find this! This is going onto my iPod today!!

  • It's amusing for me to watch this routine. He does the vegas thing so well.

  • bonjour jason connais tu le titre de la chanson pour ton debut avec les massues ? et bravo a toi

  • jason is an absolutely amazing juggler and i respect his talent but it's really sad because he has such a big ego and has to think he's the best. so sorry jason but you need to get some respect for other jugglers.if you're going to send me an angry comment watch his 2004 ball competition. just the part where he's talking in the beginning is an example...

  • actually, i agree with you completely there.

  • Ever heard of playing a role? :)

  • Jason Garfield looks like an angry bowling pin.

  • I think the anamosity towards Jason Garfield is due to his intimidating biceps and Lex Luthor like head.

  • the greatest juggling routine of our time. it says so much. and people say this juggler lacks "soul"? all i see here is nothing but soul. the intellect it took to create this incredible parody must be colossal. the juggling is a pure celebration of the greatest of this art, and JG is giving us something new and meaningful here. this routine also shows the absurdity of combining seriously difficult moves with flippant cliche showmanship. they just don't blend. and jason is proving that here.

  • the pointing the finger at the audience parody just kills me. i still can't get over how awesome this routine is. it's just as hilarious and brilliant as when i saw it in 2002. i remember the entire audience literally dying with laughter. i have never in my entire life heard an audience laugh that much, not even at stand-up comics' shows, and i go to a lot of stand up. totally brilliant, and to think the great juggling is interpolated into this craziness...

  • :40 - :45 his face haha

  • Great juggling. But i fail to see why this is in anyway funny?

  • probably because youre stupid

    just guessing

  • The whole routine is a parody on so-called ''jugglers'' whose act is more about showmanship and pandering to the audience than actual technical proficiency. You know, the guys who build a whole career around a 3-ball act and some lame gimmick (like a sequenced ''piano'') and end up getting cable specials for it.

The humor here comes from Jason's portrayal of these happy-go-lucky charicatures and the over-the-top delivery that usually passes for talent on TV.

  • I would have to agree with you on some levels about what you just said there. There are some fairly popular three ball jugglers, one in particular Chris Bliss who does a three ball juggling routine to several songs cut into a pretty decent choreographed juggling routine. The only downside to it was that he was doing most of the same tricks over and over again. I've seen Jason's parody of Bliss's routine and all I have to say is this. Bliss may be a hack juggler but Jason is a jealous meathead.

  • 2:11-2:14

    LOL.

    Jason rules

  • what clubs do you use?

  • I remember Penn Jillette saying, "Don't take up juggling to get laid." Michael Goudeau (co-host of his short-lived but easily found radio show) pointed out there are clown groupies around. I guess B&B's "Clown College" pays off. Heh heh.

Very cool video. Jason Garfield is hardcore--inspired me to try juggling two full Fuze bottles. Heh, gotta run to the store for another one.

  • juggling just should be

  • lol... why are people arguing about juggling? lol...

  • juggling should be a olympic event.

  • Agreed.

  • it totaly should be with teams and everything lol i call vova and jason on my team lol

  • Totaly agreed

  • is the first drop done on purpose?

  • This is a confusing performance. From the many months of generally following his performances and interviews, he has expressed his disapproval of nearly of everything he about his 'show'. It's a bit odd and a lot to take in. His drops appear purposeful.

  • I think he's being ironic in his performance, I'm pretty sure he's taking the piss out of these manner of shows, and I'm glad, I personally really hate that style of performance, with the bright clothing, sequins, overly happy and dramatic music along with a goofy and cheesy clown-like personality of the performer. Sure, people can do what they like, but I don't like it, I find it embarrassing personally. I really loved this performance.

  • 7:14 WTF that was hilarious ! =))

  • lol yeah it was!

  • my favorite part is the way he leaves the stage

  • I have great respect for your juggling wich demands a lot but having fun with it is good too. I hope you appreciate the routine i made for laughing..

  • he sucks asa dropped like 5 things so shut the fuck up kids

  • and you think you can reach on garfields level?

  • wtf ! on the stage is something normally from my opinion

  • did u win?

  • does anyone know the siteswap at 1:38 - 1:41 ?

  • its

    (6x,4)(2,4x)(4,6x)(4x,2)

  • OMFG 8:15 LOST>

    4 8 15 16 23 42

  • I think some of you guys are missing the point of this routine...he is always going on about how he hates juggling being mixed with clowning and dissing other jugglers for doing simple stuff...and he has been accused of dissing it because he can't do it. It's an obvious parody by him of the guys who clown up their routines...I think basically he was giving a big "F U" to the competition?!

  • i totally agree with you i think jason did it as a joke because i know jason can do alot better and would never do this type of comedy act for real i think it was all set up

jason i love your juggling bro keep up the great work

i always tell my friends to go watch your videos to see real juggling

  • i completly agree i think jason really cares more about juggling and he only made it a joke to show how stupid it is and that juggling is mistaken for a clowns act when it really isnt and it takes years to do i dont know if this is the case of jason doing this but i hope so because i believe juggling means alot more than a joke to jason

i also think he dropped the balls on purpose as part of the act cause he wouldnt drop two balls on such an easy routine

peace i like jasons normal juggling

  • i think its pretty sad how he completely disregards that juggling actually Is performance and not a sport, at least it started that way. he is like a drummer dissing all drummers playing in bands in stead of trying to play is fast as they can.

  • No, juggling is a skill. What you do with it is up to you. Juggling, by itself - which is all juggling is, is not a performance until you put together...a performance. And it's not a sport until you start competing. Your analogy is flawed because the majority of juggling competitions (WJF) are based on technical proficiency, not speed. It's the same skills you need to be a good performing juggler. Minus the spandex.

  • i don't get it?? u dont like jugglers who do the trick "eating the apple" but u do it in your act for your last trick plz explain?

  • its a joke. hes taking the piss

  • It's a parady!

  • omg. "jugglinjosh" IT'S A PARODY. A FREAKIN JOKE! do you know what a joke is???

  • @JasonRGarfield -- Garfield's right. It's a skill and an art. It can be performed as entertainment or it can be practiced as an art for it's own sake. My impression is that Jason is mocking the element of competition that celebrates showmanship over technical expertise. It's hard to take a celebration of the art seriously (cough, cough, IJA) when so much emphasis is placed on performance and pizazz. The WJF places stronger emphasis on skill and the art of juggling. Different strokes...

  • @JasonRGarfield i agree :)

  • If I'm not mistaken (club) Juggling started as a sport. Look at the history of club swinging.

  • Juggling is what you make of it. It can be a hobby, performance, meditation, sport, a means of socialising or all of the above and more. And Jason does many fantastic performances with Juggling, such as this one, which communicates his distaste of the cliche's of people's perceptions of juggling that are only perpetuated by the walking gimmicks that he takes the piss out of in this video...

  • I can't speak on Jason's behalf, but from what I can tell, Jason just wants juggling to be given the recognition it deserves, and performers of this nature prevent that from happening by packaging the skill and art into cheesy junk-food that is easily digested by elderly cruise-ship patrons...sorry, I'm getting carried away, it's just that while I disagree with his means of communicating that message sometimes, I am 100% behind him on that message.

  • listen I have made a living on cruise ship. I'm from a circus family should jugglers in circuses be bend too. Jason is great but a big head and not everybody thinks is the best like he does. kris Kremo is not an OLYMPIC JUGGLER but a great juggler none the less. Competition is fine but been an entertainer is more difficult

  • farbrorblo, you are completely ignorant of what juggling is.

  • if thats the case, i love garfield =]

  • What is the name of that clown music playing in the background? That's not Rimsky-Korsakov, is it? Help me, someone, please!

  • I found it, yeah - Gayaneh - Suite - Sabre Dance - thanks for the help guys, not! Incidentally, who cares whether juggling is mixed with clowning, isn't it about entertainment? I mean, then why put a performance together at all - you have to think about what the crowd wants as an entertainer - I mean, please, it's not rocket science or cancer research...it's JUGGLING.

  • cynta42, spare us the clichés about rocket science. you just need to chill out. people like you are never pleased. people criticize Garfield when he's serious, and now you knock him when he's hilariously brilliant. what the hell's wrong with you? if Jason can make fun of his own craft, doesn't that PROVE that he doesn't take juggling too seriously? he is capable of laughing at himself. learn from him. relax and chill. btw, juggling IS harder than rocket science, the kind JG demonstrates.

  • Garfield only has a handful of tricks with no transition between them...ntm that I hate his "jokes." hes not as funny as he thinks he is

  • why is everyone laughing like an idiot?

  • wut ever happened to "all the bozozs who think they are great jugglers because they can juggle while eating the apple", i' dorry, but he is a bit of a hippocrit.

But very good and entertaining routine

  • the apples were just a joke to poke fun at "all the bozozs"

keep in mind that he was performing for a crowd full of people who knew about juggling and would see the satire.

  • Very nice! funny i was like LOL

  • Man, his face is the most priceless part of this entire routine. I can just feel the sincerity oozing forth.

(btw Jason used to babysit my cousin, Paavo!)

  • thats a pretty sweet juggling routine

  • wow, I just never know what to expect from you! I can't do cool stuff yet like that so I have to resort to tricks like eating apples but maybe someday I'll be hardcore like Jason Garfield!

  • does anyone else hear the creepy laughter?

  • Yeah, i heard the creepy laughter. Do you know what it was!

  • darn right i know what it was.. it was the boogyman

  • weird dude. trippy as fuck. well done jason you ruined my mind

  • All the drops were on purpose

  • uhhhh

thats is not jason at alll

  • ye it is

  • that is not Jason at all!!!

He said on his Competitor Profile video, that his goal in his life is to promote juggling as a sport. not a circus parody.

This video is obviously set up. I don't think that guy was Jason, he could do much better.

Jason, if you're reading this - please reply.

  • It is I... Jason... I may look darker, but I am Jason,

  • That was fantastic! One of the funniest things I've seen for a long time, especially loved the apples at the end, pure class!

  • Funky Jason Garfield!

  • Jason Funky Garfield

  • shockingly hilarious. a truly great parody.

  • that was great!

  • Dudes, this is not Jason, this is a clown dressed as Jason :D Ment good..

Jason, please tell me what drugs you were on to this show? I've never seen you this happy xD AND, 7 drops in 1 show? Doesn't seem like you ;)

However, still very good show. :D

  • No it isn't, this is Jason Garfield

  • I love his shows !

  • I would have to agree with Mbelvis. Jason is so much cooler in this video. He doesn't seem to take juggling too seriously. He thinks of it as fun.

  • The trick at 1:28 is called backcrosses.

  • who cares

  • Actually those were shoulder throws

  • Actually it's shoulder throws

  • lol ur face is so funny

  • This is what happens if you feed him prozak

  • He finally cracked.

  • very good 5 stars

damm the best i have seen of jason ,performing

  • Hilarious

  • jason dropped during 3 ball?! holy shit!!!!

  • Very nice , but you do special to drop ???

  • Sounds like everyone LOVED this act.

Too bad he doesn't like silly fun juggling. :|

  • cool

  • el mejor sin duda

  • hilarious

  • hilarious

  • Silly goose...

  • now thats juggling 8-D

i dont care if he dropped them or what level of skill it is... he performed it and it is amazing!!!

  • what that trick name at 1:28 i wanna learn it

  • I think those are backcrosses

  • I suppose its 4 balls behind the back

  • Shoulder throws, you maybe know this by now.

  • I know you were just taking the piss the whole time, but that was funner to watch than most of your more 'Athletic Juggling'

  • if jason could be more serius about this act manybe he could get a job

  • I second that! Your comment and the comment rating.

  • i thought u sed the apple trick was for bidden, did u not??

  • that is the joke...

  • it was a piss take.

  • act cute. -.-

  • much more amusing than the really serious stuff

  • bit less serrious from your other stuff int it. But i still love it!!!!!

  • can i just say, you mr garfield u think your pee wee herman , but ur not so face reality "mr Herman"

  • i only wish all clowns were that skilled. but now that i think about it the pritty much slapped most well known jugglers in the face. but thats great entertainment.

  • that was hilarious. that guy rocks he is always ripping the piss out of people and it is great that the audience doesnt realise as well lol

  • Oh the audience knows, you can bet on that.

  • i thought he didnt like when people associated clowns with juggling and hes being one right there

  • It's not too often we see you smiling! How odd.

  • what's with the evil laughter that emanates every so often?
