i don't like the idea of the merger, i have been with the same people since forever practically i live in texas and ive been with cellular one witch eventually turned into alltel and been happy with the service in rual Texas but the merger has caused me to change to sprint cause of verizon a lot of family have had problems with verizons coverage sprint is far less superior than alltel i will miss it.

as far as we have been informed we will officially be Verizon between now and June. We are currently paid by verizon but continue to sell Alltel's plans and equipment. I got a sneak peek at an Alltel/Verizon commercial where Chad meets the Verizon "can you hear me now?" guy.

The merge has been completed as of January Ninth. however, there are still a few things being worked out. As of right now, Verizon customers can Call Alltel customers as part of Mobil to Mobil, They are still working on Alltel customers being able to call verizon, but It will be available in the next couple weeks!

I work for alltel and from what I understand, after the merger, all alltel customers will be serviced by Verizon. What this means is that the service you have now will not change but places where verizon worked and alltel didnt will now work for you. basically its all our towers and all their towers owned and opperated by verizon. this wont happen till after the first of the year 2009.

Currently AT&T is the only company with rights to carry the I-phone, but verizon has a new product called the Blackberry Storm. My wife has it and i believe it to be a far superior handset. The merge has happened but it will still be a while before our customers see a difference.
