I get the sensation that the ol' fart interviewer was becoming increasingly miffed throughout the interview at his guest having done so much with his life, learned so much practical knowledge to share, and accomplished so much philanthropy; but the ol' fart has only done this one thing all his adult life. The olld guy was cutting Thom's answers short with a curt response with hand gestures and abrupt changes of subject matter. Thom totally outclassed his host.

Talk about a reality check. Cluster Fox's own dumbest bastard on all TV and radio lost over $500 million before he made Rupert a positive dollar, while AAR was funded by barely $20 Million and they dissapeared.

Kinda gives some perspective as to the desparation of the wealthy and powerful to be so willing to lose hundreds of millions of dollars just to be sure that their sick disgusting lies and propaganda are pushed by their willing whores.

I have been blessed (non-secular) in that I met Thom Hartmann twice. I was at the first "Great Debate" in Illinois and a live taping of his show in Madison, WI about 6 months later.

In my humble opinion all his books should be required reading for all Americans.

Approximately 30 minutes into the interview and in at least one of his books, Hartmann claims he earned a Ph.D. in Homeopathic Medicine from Brantridge in England. Brantridge, which no longer exists, was considered by experts in the field to be a diploma mill. It was founded by well known diploma mill operator Bruce Copen. Reference:

@TaftPres According to Hartmann, his experience at Brantridge was only for the purpose of learning. He never lists his PhD on any of his biography and only once was it included in any book her wrote, and that was because his publisher wrote his bio. Hartmann never uses the title "doctor" or "Dr." in front of his name. So, in other words his Brantridge degree is moot.

@MrCowboyJesus What's moot is the view of the reader. At this time it's hard for anyone to know Mr. Hartmann's motive. If I recall, he was in the nutrition business at that time and the title “Dr.” could have helped in these efforts. And it’s rare that someone would enroll at a diploma mill to learn anything.

@TaftPres I cannot comment on what Hartmenn was doing at that periosd of his life but I do believe that Hartmann is an honest person. I also know that what constitutes "Diploma Mill" is pretty much in the eye of the beholder. This Brantridge was a school specializing in Herbal medicine and very often schools which teach controversial subjects are not always accepted. I know that Frank Lloyd Wright's school, Taliasent was for a very long time unaccredited because of Wright's controversial ideas.

From what I heard from Mike Malloy, Air america failed because of mangement. All the managers sucked including the Drobnys, according to Jeff Farias who was one of the DJs for NOVA M (the liberal radio network the Drobnys managed after NOVA M).

We cannot change the past (unless you are a Progressive/Liberal/Socialist/ Communist revising it). The future is what needs to be taken care off. The only answer is lower taxes (40 % max not the current 60% paid by the productive like me when you add in all the hidden taxes). Smaller government (they cannot run anything correctly anyway). This is not the change that Obama promised. It's the same tired, old solution we've always heard from big government liberals. Viva Reagan, Che was a murderer!

@DuctapePenguin I'd hate to break it to you, but the kind of minarchic state that Thomas Jefferson presided over will never - ever - be coming back again. His United States was a pre-industrial agricultural state in which the kind of state system you advocate worked but would never work for an industrialized, now post-industrial, nation.

Thomas Jefferson did not live to see an industrialized United States, but I have no doubt that he would have adjusted his views on the role of the state.

You should watch the documentary control room. It is about Iraq from Iraqis point's of view and told by the network Al Jazeera. There is a Iraq war vet in it that beleived the lie of Al Jazeera being a pro-siddam network. It is actually what true journalism should be. Even when he realized that what he was told about the war was a lie and so was Fox, he continued to believe the BS lie about Al Jazeera. You libertarians remind me of that veteran.
