I get the sensation that the ol' fart interviewer was becoming increasingly miffed throughout the interview at his guest having done so much with his life, learned so much practical knowledge to share, and accomplished so much philanthropy; but the ol' fart has only done this one thing all his adult life. The olld guy was cutting Thom's answers short with a curt response with hand gestures and abrupt changes of subject matter. Thom totally outclassed his host.
Good video. Hi My Name is Lloyd Spell. Please let me show you what Brain Coral do. After you see this, if you understand and know what they do. Talk about a reality check. Cluster Fox's own dumbest bastard on all TV and radio lost over $500 million before he made Rupert a positive dollar, while AAR was funded by barely $20 Million and they dissapeared.
Kinda gives some perspective as to the desparation of the wealthy and powerful to be so willing to lose hundreds of millions of dollars just to be sure that their sick disgusting lies and propaganda are pushed by their willing whores.
FYI: Corporations ARE NOT PEOPLE!!! Period. End of story.
I find it rather scary that so many Americans are completely ignorant of their own Constitution, laws, and what the implications are that figments of the human imagination has nearly the same equal rights as any one of us living, breathing, actual humans.
I have been blessed (non-secular) in that I met Thom Hartmann twice. I was at the first "Great Debate" in Illinois and a live taping of his show in Madison, WI about 6 months later.
In my humble opinion all his books should be required reading for all Americans.
For me at least, Thom Hartmann is the antidote to people like Limbaugh, Savage, Beck, and Hannity. He's humble and has opposing views on his show very often.
@JustCamus Yep, if you need a lot of finger pointing and name calling better stick with Rush O'Beckity. Thom's more about a reasoned search for common ground and solutions.
Approximately 30 minutes into the interview and in at least one of his books, Hartmann claims he earned a Ph.D. in Homeopathic Medicine from Brantridge in England. Brantridge, which no longer exists, was considered by experts in the field to be a diploma mill. It was founded by well known diploma mill operator Bruce Copen. Reference:
John B. Bear & Mariah P. Bear, Bears Guide to Earning Degrees by Distance Learning, p. 277, Ten Speed Press, 2001
You state your opinion clearly and without any name-calling. And you give the source of your information. Thank you. This is the way grown-ups are supposed to talk to each other.
@TaftPres According to Hartmann, his experience at Brantridge was only for the purpose of learning. He never lists his PhD on any of his biography and only once was it included in any book her wrote, and that was because his publisher wrote his bio. Hartmann never uses the title "doctor" or "Dr." in front of his name. So, in other words his Brantridge degree is moot.
@MrCowboyJesus What's moot is the view of the reader. At this time it's hard for anyone to know Mr. Hartmann's motive. If I recall, he was in the nutrition business at that time and the title “Dr.” could have helped in these efforts. And it’s rare that someone would enroll at a diploma mill to learn anything.
@TaftPres I cannot comment on what Hartmenn was doing at that periosd of his life but I do believe that Hartmann is an honest person. I also know that what constitutes "Diploma Mill" is pretty much in the eye of the beholder. This Brantridge was a school specializing in Herbal medicine and very often schools which teach controversial subjects are not always accepted. I know that Frank Lloyd Wright's school, Taliasent was for a very long time unaccredited because of Wright's controversial ideas.
From what I heard from Mike Malloy, Air america failed because of mangement. All the managers sucked including the Drobnys, according to Jeff Farias who was one of the DJs for NOVA M (the liberal radio network the Drobnys managed after NOVA M).
We cannot change the past (unless you are a Progressive/Liberal/Socialist/ Communist revising it). The future is what needs to be taken care off. The only answer is lower taxes (40 % max not the current 60% paid by the productive like me when you add in all the hidden taxes). Smaller government (they cannot run anything correctly anyway). This is not the change that Obama promised. It's the same tired, old solution we've always heard from big government liberals. Viva Reagan, Che was a murderer!
@dsmith6289 "The only answer is lower taxes " We tried the Bush tax cuts for 10 years now... when were they supposed to start stimulating the economy and creating jobs? Still waiting... Funny how conservatives always make the government bigger and spend more when they get in power on corporate welfare and add new agencies. If you want small government and low taxes, there are plenty of countries to choose from. We call them 3rd world countries. Enjoy!
I never thought I'd be this type of person (and im sorry) but please watch my "help" audition I need a lot of views to win. You have no clue how much it would mean to me:)
Jefferson was a liberal. He started the democratic party when it was called the democratic republic party. Alexander Hamilton was a conservative and strted the federalist party. Learn yor history. Thom knows american history a hell of a lot more than you.
@biguy617 Hartmann is a big government socialist. Madison and Jefferson opposed big government socialism. If alive today Jefferson would try to start another revolution to tear down and eliminate everything Hartmann loves. Jefferson was a radical for liberty, Ive listened to Hartmanns show on Siriur....he abhors guests who are liberty radicals.
@DuctapePenguin" If Thom Hartmann lived in a true Jeffersonian Republic of extremely limited federal government, Hartmann would oppose Jefferson at every turn." That's ridiculous. Jefferson's ideas were at the time what the average tea partier would call "communist."
Thom Hartmann quotes Jefferson as a basis for soft Marxism but really doesnt understand Jefferson at all. Jefferson was a Min-Archist if not An-Archist.....
Jefferson said:
I am convinced that those societies which live without government enjoy an infinitely greater degree of happiness than those who live under the European governments.
@DuctapePenguin I'd hate to break it to you, but the kind of minarchic state that Thomas Jefferson presided over will never - ever - be coming back again. His United States was a pre-industrial agricultural state in which the kind of state system you advocate worked but would never work for an industrialized, now post-industrial, nation.
Thomas Jefferson did not live to see an industrialized United States, but I have no doubt that he would have adjusted his views on the role of the state.
So I suppose you think Beck, with his fake tears , is a genus. I suppose you think a woman who does a photo shoot at a turkey slaughterhouse is the smartest person on earth. MORON
*sigh*, I really wish the statists that support the "progressive" movement would realize that just because someone is against their movement that does not mean the person is necessarily a Republican.
So, to answer your question, no... I am not a huge Palin or Beck supporter. I am a Libertarian who thinks that both Fox and MSNBC are bullshit and propaganda.
But good luck with that leftest fantasy of yours, maybe one day you will learn something and no longer be a dumb ass.
Oh you are a Ron Paul nut who thinks the republican party will let him become president. That party is too evil to let him be president. You are one of these guys who thinks liberals are communists and know the truth about republicans being fascists. Hey genus, did it ever occur to you that the crap you learned about liberalism from the right wing is BS. Liberlas want a government to be "we the people."
Ron Paul never stood a chance at becoming President, but it was never his true goal. He ran because he knew that he could oppose the neo-cons who are controlling the party and perhaps force some change in the Republican party.
Extreme liberals want the government to run just about everything except some social issues because for some reason they have this fantasy that the government is able to fix their problems. So, while they are not commies they are still idiots.
there r no "extreme liberals" in the US: there is a conservative party which practices fiscal conservativism & capitalism and there is a radical right wing anarchist party in service of a nasty venal plutocracy. 1 presents budgets when they are in power that reduces the deficits while growing the economy, the other party's president produces fraudulent budgets with off the books trillion dollar items and exploding deficits. Guess which 1 is which ;)
You Paul nuts who want government to be "We the freemarket." Which might as well be fascism. One of the few things you guys have right is the fed. I agree with you on that one. End it.
I was not aware that supporting small businesses was considered fascism. There is a huge difference between capitalism and corporatism, but seeing as you are pretty far out there is let field I doubt you know the difference.
I support small business. I don't support big business. Capitalism is regulated. Corporatism is not and it is when capitalism takes over government with tolatariamism.
You should watch the documentary control room. It is about Iraq from Iraqis point's of view and told by the network Al Jazeera. There is a Iraq war vet in it that beleived the lie of Al Jazeera being a pro-siddam network. It is actually what true journalism should be. Even when he realized that what he was told about the war was a lie and so was Fox, he continued to believe the BS lie about Al Jazeera. You libertarians remind me of that veteran.
