wait a minute, at 0:57, when the pop up says "initial grace period ends 11/11/2009", is that supposed to be some sort of expiration for the loader?

@Scotsman707 That because that is the status of the OS prior to activation. This was done to show that the OS had not been activated yet.

@Scotsman707 I think that because his windows wasn't activated, the trial period expires on 11/11/2009. Then he will be forced to enter a product key, or he can't boot up (only in safe mode I think).

@fudgenoodle Notification Mode replaces the old RFM (reduce functionality mode). In short, this means that you exceeded the initial 30 day grace/trial period. This article should help. Google how to bypass

@f4gjerry Original trial is 7100 build and final build is 7600 w/ service pack one soon on the way. I would acquire a copy of 7600 and try again ;)

Yes there is. Dell has changed its logo, it is now a silver circle with DELL inside. Look closer. Btw, you do NOT need the OEM info to activate it.

Win7 is 99% genuine after this process.  1% is missing due to lack of ownership papers. Yes, you get the MS Genuine cert afterwards ;)

Will work on laptop or desktop, doesn't matter. The procedure outlined in the video was performed on a Intel Core 2 Duo desktop with an MSI mobo.

Can someone please explain to me what the SLIC 2.1 is? And I built my computer myself, so what would I use as my OEM? Perhaps the manufacturer of my motherboard?

SLIC (Software Licensing Description Table) is in the BIOS of a motherboard, and in short it is a way for manufactures of computer systems to activate the OS.

It is NOT necessarily to inject the OEM info, however, if you'd like to do so, then yes, you would pick the maker of your mobo.
