  • I grew up in Chawton, about 2 minutes from that house, I walked home every night from work for 2 years and didn't notice anything...

  • Thankyou for your efforts..great story..amazing life..and a sad end...

  • Very interesting video. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • We have wonderful memories of JA's house. When my family went to visit it, we were running very late and got there just 20 minutes before it closed. I was stressed and rushed as I didn't want to miss the house & this was the only day on our trip we were going to be able to stop. I hated giving it short shrift. But almost immediately upon entering the grounds, a strong feeling of peacefulness took over. My kids, who hadn't been happy, became calm & you could sense a specialness about the place

  • anyone notice stange anomaly at 1:40 and camera trying to focus on something?

  • That is quite intresting. i would never have thought that she could still be here. That would be an amazing experience to hear her voice. What makes me wonder is... does she think that her sister is still alive and living in that house? or did she want to just stay and protect her house instead of crossing over?

  • i wish i were living on on that era:- meeting jane austen and her family and so on.

And if im not wrong she has two brothers who had to joined the navy guesse it must be hard at that time..

  • I want a house like that

  • i can't beleive i've just seen this. my mum went to jane austens house and said she had the most paranormal experience of her life - except it wasn't the slightest bit peaceful or tranquil. she said she HEARD jane austen talk to her, and beg her to prey for her....as if she was terrified, or trapped. my mum said she was really disturbed by the experience and it really moved her.

  • Amazing, absolutely Amazing! <3

  • Jane Austen's house is so beautiful! I would love to know it someday! ♥

  • i love your channel, thank you for posting these interesting videos

  • She want's to be buried with her sister and Mother.

  • ............cass..........cass...........

  • @AMY1213141 haha, that's creepy :D

  • Wow! I never heard this before. Thank you for posting.

  • I would LOVE to visit! And converse with her ghost! Pretty much just thank her.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. As a young Jane Austen fan i found it very moving especially the bit at the end about the whisper. If anything it would be an honour to meet Jane's ghost in some form or other.

  • Oh, wonderful!!! I love Jane Austen! ❤

    Thanx for posting it!!!

    Thanx for posting it!

  • Thank you very much for posting this. I love Jane Austen!

  • I read that he was a younger man and something like Mr. Rushworth in Mansfield Park, bumbling and inarticulate.

  • Thank you.

I am a huge fan of her... and i have collection of her novels. I would love to visit her house 1 day. Perhaps i might get inspired by her Ghost... ; )

  • I think it's awful that Jane is not resting in her grave, I don't really understand ghosts, what are they and why would they be walking around like that? Scary isn't it? I wouldn't know what to do if I saw her, I think I'd faint or something, don't get me wrong, I love Jane Austen

  • I'm also a huge Jane Austen fan.

I've read that ghosts are people who have passed on but don't want to leave and go on to the next dimension, which some people call heaven or the astral plane.

I'm not saying this is true, just that I've read it several times.

I don't believe people who have passed on stay near their graves. What would be the point? They go to heaven, review their lives, have reunions with friends and family and enjoy their new lives.

  • what does astral plane means?

  • I do get your point there.I don't think nor beleive she is a ghost.I think that it is most the people that wants to make it seem or want to beleive that she isn't gone from this earth.I think I read somewhere that she was also a Christian?

It is a interesting documentary, though... And I really love her stories. Very nice seeing her place and house, it makes you go back to the time of her novels. A very beautiful time.

  • I do also know of people claiming that even Christians that are dead can still be living on with their spirit around on earth.I think that is a silly statement. Also it must be very frustrating being bound on the earth like a ghost.I'm sure that she would have it better being in a much better place than restless walking around at her homeplace. There are sure many weird things happening that we don't know what it is,and that are mysterious&supernatural.Doesn't always mean that is a ghost though.

YO AMO A JANE AUSTEN Y SUS LIBROS.

SOBRE TODO ORGULLO Y PREJUICIO. Y A MR. DARCY. :)

  • Wonderful job, thanks for giving us the chance to see it, Im from Czech R, and now Living in UK. Im sooo looking forwad to go see her house.

  • i wouldnt mind seeing jane lol by the way she wrote she must have been someone wonderful to be acquainted with. i wish i were living in that era

  • that's what I used to think. The romance and tranquility is obviously desirable, but take a moment to think about it. The dentist care for one was awful, along with with their hygiene. As well as the lack of medical care, people died quite young.

  • @timberlakemcavoy lol very true. and McAvoy? are you reffering to the insanely good looking actor?

  • @ammy164646 It's lovely! I was there about two months ago, when I walked into the room where Jane's writing desk sits. Obviously, that is one of the key pieces of furniture there. I went and placed my hand on the desk and I felt this incredible energy; it was so strong, and I could just see Jane there, writing excitedly. If you haven't been to the house, I highly recommend you go. It's a wonderful experience. :)

  • It's some amazing videos you've uploaded and I've had much joy watching them.

Thanks for taking the time to upload them. :-)

  • i subbed realy intresting and scary

  • I thought she died from Addison's disease not cancer.

  • Hi There, Addison's disease can be caused by an autoimmune reaction to cancer. Poor lady she must have suffered an awful lot.

  • Thanks, I was just reading somewhere the other choice of diagnosis was Hogkin's Lymphoma. Sad that they are both such treatable diseases now. And you're right, the poor love must have gone through a very tough time.

  • @GroovyBlackCat Actually it is unknown, therefore there is a possibility that it might have been cancer.

  • this is utterly beautiful... if i were to haunt a place... it would be somewhere like this... what a wonderful piece!

  • aww, Jane austen sounds like she used to be a wonderful lady and i am shocked she did not find a husband herself, but she clearly loved her sister, thanks Ghostwatcher, i subscibed to your videos

  • Actually, I think she was proposed by a young man when she was in her twenties. She accepted at first but then canceled the engagement because she realized that as a wife, she could not write.

I read that somewhere, I just can't remember now. But if its not true, someone please correct me. ^^

  • Jane was proposed to by a brother of some very close friends. She did accept but after thinking it over refused him the next morning. She couldn't marry him without affection.

  • Oh, that gave me the shivers.

I so wish to visit Chawton once. I've been reading and loving her books since 1996. No matter that English was my second language, I read them all again and again. Winchester in on the wishlist too.

  • I'm rather fond of Jane Austen. I shouldn't mind her visiting me - ghost or no.

  • My family and I used to live in this town, a few hundred feet from her old house, actually! I spent my childhood climbing in a large oak tree Austen herself had planted. Of course, I was too young at the time to appreciate where I was living (I was 9 when we moved). I don't remember any ghosts, either, but I'm going back this summer so I'll keep a look out!

  • Is the commentator Rowan Atkinson, does anyone know?

  • WOW....

That was awesome, kind of scary though

  • i felt her presence very strongly

  • fascinating history lesson! the ghosty stuff is just the icing on the cake!

  • Well I must admitt after watching this video, Jane Austen would be someone I would have like to have met. Thanks Ghostwatcher for this fantastic viseo

  • Very cool. I love Jane Austen. =)

  • Very interesting video thanks.

  • Very Kind of you to say, Thankyou.
