@MichaelPalinFan2008 They were/are not psychopaths. Though I've never met them, I know people who have & they say they are perfect gentlemen. Anybody just watch interviews with them & you'll see how normal, nice & intelligent they are.
It's quite literally my favourite thing ever when the over-privileged insult and demean the under-privileged! It's brilliant! I especially love it when people of a different race are made fun of because of it! LOL!
Who are you anyway? and why are you stalking my comments?
@enigma19833 Because I've seen some of the cunty comments you've made all over YouTube and I feel obliged to point out that you are a seriously disturbed, delusional piece of shit. And if your videos are anything to go by, you're horrendously ugly and clinically obese to boot. As for "who are you?", here's a clue. 1990s band, had a hit with 'Not So Manic Now'.
Whilst the Pythons were VERY CLEVER VERY SILLY people who combined wrote and performed phenomenally (whom I've never laughed so much at), ingeniously structured and mental 'off the wall' sketches who in person are generally calm and not at all like how they are on screen....The goodies......well......THEY ARE!! THEY WERE COMPLETE PSYCHOPATHS!!!!
@67mustangreg Lol. Are you so stupid that you think uploading stuff makes you important? Get a life you dickhead instead of being some cocksucking troll.
the start was the best they where having a go at elvice stuff brilient lol
67mustangreg "fuck" you sir (such a premitive word) why do you even bother to post here? if you don't like it get out of here you bloody gitty smeg head
the fact you are infected with uncivilized stupidity dosn't mean we are so please let us cevelized people enjoy this great peace of commedy in peace. .
The blackface stuff still leaves me a bit uneasy. Jerry Lee Lewis was often as OTT as Little Richard and making fun of HIM would have had no racial overtones
@The1962driftingaway I dont think in any way there was any intent of racism in the clip. These days you see a lot of pressure from the American media for other nations to adjust their own cultures to take account of American taboos. Its nonsense though. Take the Australian KFC ad that was not racist and was pulled off the tv by KFC America because in America there was a stereotype in existance that nobody in Australia had even heard of and the ad made those who ilegaly downloaded it angry. Crazy
Hilarious! It makes a kinda nice change to see Graeme going completely ballistic when he's generally so sensible. But he really shouldn't be doing this, should he?
Here are some candidates for a third DVD box: Snooze Hype pressure The race Scotland The Goodies rule - OK? Daylight robbery on the Orient Express Superstar The new office Women's lib That's plenty... And throw in a restoration of what can be saved of "Caught in the act" or "Commonwealth games" just because they are "lost episodes".
I'd go along with Hype Pressure, the Race, Goodies Rule OK and the New Office but I'd also throw in It Might As Well Be String, Alternative Roots, Royal Command and the Music Lovers.
They are good too, I don't mind addning them to my list. There is easily material for two more boxes with good episodes. Our combined list is already 13 episodes. That's three DVDs crowded with good goodies.
The bits with the three differently sized saxophones and the piano being played with the chisel still makes me giggle like a maniac. Simple, mad and brilliant.
It's true. I remember The Goodies being on PBS in the states for 6 months , probably less , from '75 to maybe early '76 . I , too , remember "Kitten Kong" , "Eckythump" and others. It was a great show. I have two of their LPs , and if they ever do something crazy like release some DVDs over here (Lesser known UK shows have already made it.), I'm on it. Enjoying the various clips , but this is my fave. I did'nt know The Goodies were discovered at The 2- I'S . HA HA !
This must be my earliest childhood memory - I had a vague recollection for years of a man jumping around on a settee with a straight razor while some "bom bom bom, bom bom b'dom" rock and roll played in the background and hadn't a clue which show it came from until...well, you can guess the rest!
Hahahaha! Tim's wearing less makeup to fake Little Richard than Little Richard wears every day!
45junkee, to answer your question, hardly anyone in the U.S. knows The Goodies, so probably not. They were shown for a *very* short time on American public television in 1975. I saw the Kitten Kong episode back then, and it freaked me out to see it in that "Holy cow - TIMEWARP!" way 25 years later in Australia.
I'm not a Bill Oddie fan either, but love Tim and Graeme to death. I believe that Bill was the musicially talented one and Tim and Graeme were the comically talented ones
Of course, don't forget that Bill & Graeme wrote the episodes... we can't really discount Bill's comic talent either. But spot on about the musical talent. The others could play instruments well, but Bill's tunes stick in my head decades after the shows.
bill is definitly the worst. tim is my fave then graeme second. i love the music used in the background on the early episodes like "needed", "hurry postman" all those awesome tunes all covered up with badly distorted laughter. man i wish bloddy bill oddie would release these!
The Boosh have said one of their comedy inspirations was The Goodies - in that they write their own music and write their own TV, and they're in their own world. And the Mighty Boosh spent a series working ina zoo (Scatty Safari anyone?) Having said that, the Boosh's world will never be as "mainstream" as The Goodies. (I'll write a thesis and get back to you...)
Come on, who needs to analyse humour - just let it make you laugh. I watched this six times in a row and I was in tears every time. There really is nothing around like this today, is there? Tell you what, there ought to be.
Couldn't agree more. People tell me "Oh, you'd love the Mighty Boosh, it's just like the Goodies"...no it isn't, and anyone who thinks that pointy-faced goth and his glum moustachioed jazz mate are remotely funny needs to go home and die quietly.
There's no need for that - the Mighty Boosh is a masterpiece of comedy, actually: "don't be square, man, get with it, daddio!" Just as the Goodies were the ultimate exponents of what they did, the Boosh are the best example yet of their own 'style'. (Vince and Howard are the funniest TV double-act for decades.)
I think we can kiss goodbye to the idea of great comedy like this ever being repeated, simply because of a few twats in positions of power with too much influence and too many opinions. RIP real comedy.
Is Tim supposed 2 b Lil Richard? n Graeme Buddy Holly? I really shouldn't b doin this. Where's my razor i wanna slash things. Ha ha ha sooooo funny The Goodies r the best thing britain has EVER been produced. Makes me proud 2 b British.
I think that's one of the funniest things i've ever seen :-D . The music they put into it is absolutely barmy! I dont remember that sketch the first time around. 5 stars, nice timing cutting off just after Graeme says "I really shouldn't be doing this, should I?" lol at "no one understands me... that crazy rythem"
