back in the 70's the only hemi there was avalible on the challanger was the 426 the largest engine was the 440 and it wasnt a hemi now both the 370 and 345 are both hemis does anyone else think that the 440 should be brought back?

@fordf1502 You know that the 427 in the Corvette is a 7.0L. Which means that the 440 would be a 7.2L engine. Do you know how big and heavy that engine would be. It's not that they can't or don't want to bring it back it's that it itself is unnecessary. In the past there were no electronic piggy backs that monitored your engines health and superchargers or turbos would only work on highly modded engines that could handle it, so getting power meant bigger engines. (Damm i ran out of room.)

@Fuchi450 To be fair, while the old engines had zero emissions worry and computer-less (basically) they were a pain in the ass to upkeep if they produced more than 400HP, you'd soak spark plugs just getting the thing running half the time, people take for granted how "smooth" running the 6.1l\5.7l and the new 6.4l engines are, one push, voila, won't see that on a 440 magnum or a 454 stingray engine, just be fouling spark plugs a LOT putting down that power.
