@michelletran8460 1) Because parental supervision is suggested with toddlers when using it. 2) Yes, because again, adult supervision is suggested. It can get very messy so it's best if the child isn't the ONLY one using it.

Also - the box says ages 8 and up. I think at 8 years old you could start introducing your child to the real stove & baking.

Bottom line - my kid loved it, so I guess that's all that matters!

My daughter received this as a gift... everything about it is crappy, gross microwave cupcakes, gross frosting, difficult to clean the cupcake stand (if you get icing underneath the spinning cupcake holder like I did).

It is very easy to use - although the cupcakes don't quite come out like the picture on the box :) & only takes a few minutes which holds the attention of a 6 year old.
