Anyone know whiy Estes and Kapture called each other "Sam?" I'm guessing it was just Cannell thinking he was being cute but maybe there's a more substantive reason.

I didn't watch the series when it aired in the 90's, but watched them on a re-run a few months ago. Didn't realise what a good series it was! Very entertaining and lots of fun! Not to mention the utterly gorgeous Mitzi Kapture, who had one of the prettiest faces of any woman - and a good figure. Yes, okay, she was the main reason I watched the show! Rob Estes also very good in his roll - a great match they made! I've not seen such perfect chemistry between any other on-screen couple.

I remember watching this show when it was on USA. I got all the DVDS. I watch them over and over again, always crying and hoping for a change that Chris would live. Those 2 were great together. I thought if it showed her having the baby or refering to the name, I bet she would name it Sam.

I also had to stay up and hide that I was watching Silk. I was in high school and loved the chemistry between Chris and Rita. I too bawled like a baby when Chris was shot and left Rita... I wish Rob had been happier on the show and had stuck around, but what a great ride. One of the best partnerships ever, up there with Mulder and Scully and Benson and Stabler.

I absolutely loved SS, I think this was my first favorite TV show. I remember watching it when I was 11 or 12, and turning down the volume during the steamy opening credits, worried that my parents would hear the moans and groans. lol!

I actually didn't care much for the cases, I was just in love with Chris and Rita and their amazing chemistry. I bawled like a baby when they killed Chris, then consoled myself afterwards by writing fanfiction with a happy ending. :)

Like you I miss this series. If you don't already have the series, you can buy it. I did, at least through Season 5. I'm still so pissed Rob suggested killing off his character. TPTB were going to have them leave the PD to raise their child. grrrrr. I used to watch this when I was little also, around 10-14. So good, until Chris died. I cried like a baby. Still do when I rewatch the final ep.
