I got goose bumps listening to this song. This is one the greatest lost gems in all of rock history. Great beat, great, music, great voice and one of the few McCartney songs with a socially conscious message. Peace.
MORE WINGS/SOLO STUFF ON TOUR PLEASE??????????? NO MORE I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND/HEY JUDE/LONG AND WINDING/I SAW HER STANDING THERE STUFF!! WINGS! WINGS! WINGS!
@WalkedAbner And he is soft, very soft with this message, although Lennon atacked him so agressive, and then i though, Lennon, did you give peace a chance?
This tune has an interesting bass line during the chorus roll. Paul's voice holds up well for this sbng. Nice to see attention to detail including breaking out the gibson firebird for the solo. Quite a distinctive sound. Today too many older acts stick with fenders in loosing attempt to recreate that classic sound for tunes originally recorded with gibson SGs or firebirds. Clapton is the worse. Watching him try and play Cream classics with a stratocaster is a crime.
Good points, great bass lines. Macca is a massive bit of musicianship all roll up into a ball of genius. I play a little guitar and would not be so cock sure as to call out Eric. He can play...a bit. I think he can sort out his sound. Humbucking and dirtying a strat is easy peasy...without being too childish about it!...LOL
2jc333jc Actually SOLISDEUS couldn't be more right; Clapton does not "sort out his sound' for Cream stuff at all---you're dead wrong. "Dirtying a Strat" is easy, but he doesn't do it. btw, his strats don't have humbuckers--
@crippledsongbird Absolutely right! He probably still considerded it the Wings period because it was the first album using other musicians, and with alterations the line-up eventually became Wings.
I think he doesn't remember the exact chronology of his career in as much detail as the fans. I read an interview where he thought that Revolver came out before Rubber Soul, and the interviewer had to correct him. Then Paul asked, "Was I in the Beatles?"
I saw this tour at the Palace just outside of Detroit. It was a religious experience. To see Paul looking good and singing all these great songs that helped to formulate my outlook on life was overwhelming. Paul and the Beatles were such an important influence on my senses that I could never thank them enough. Peace.
'Bout time Paul covered this classic from Ram. Every time he's toured since the mid 70's he never would do songs from Ram, and I never understood why.
McCartney still rocks just listen to "Nod Your Head". It's got a bit of "I'm The Walrus", "Helter Skelter" and "Live And Let Die". Great to see Concord Records promoting it as a music video clip on youtube [Video #4] featuring McCartney and a host of 20-something babes. I friggin love his latest LP after one or two times playing it I'm addicted to it. Thanks for the MEMORY ALMOST FULL album.

The BOTR remaster is in stores, the Ram one is coming, so maybe he'll be doing more Ram stuff on his next tour. "Backseat Of My Car", anyone?

It was on Ram before WIngs was formed, but was performed by them many times.

I thought this was the only time he performed it live, because of Yoko insulting his songs when she was accepting an award for John.

I was rather drunk when I wrote this. Sorry.
I still think that (given the appalling grammer, and spelling...LOL) that the sentiments hold up.
Love you :-)

He shares credit but he has always does well on his own - the guy is alright by me ...RAM is absolute McArtney!

He probably says it's for the Wings fans because I think, but may be wrong, that a few of the other musicians on Ram are eventually in Wings.

Los dos tipos que hacen las voces del fondo lo arruinan, lo hacen pésimo.
Deberían dejar a paul cantar solo, que lo hace excelente como siempre.

Funny how Paul says "this is for the Wings fans". It's actually from one of his best solo albums "Ram". Love it...still!

He'd better release another live album with some more of the deeper tracks. This would've been great on Back In The U.S.
