Regarding your request for unusual fruits to review....some of my favorite new fruits since I moved to CA are jujubes (Fresh, yum! although dried is cool too, like a date you can grow in your own back yard), fuyu persimmons, and mulberries (persian/pakistani). I'd love it if you could review pawpaw since I'm curious what that's like and have heard you can grow it in northern CA. Thanks!
thanks for the suggestions! We will be doing more strange fruit videos...see our loquat video :) Paw PAw is the same thing as papaya. while we visited tasmania, we noticed everyone calls it pawpaw there. :) i do know it grows well in mexico and you can find plants at local garden stores here, so it must do well in southern california. northern cal? not sure, perhaps! they are very easy to grow from seed, but you have to wait till they get older to determine the sex of the plant...
...as you can only yield fruit from one of the sexes (i have to look up which one, i foget but i think it is the male plant). we will do a papaya video at some point :) We have a mulberry tree...incredibly yummy! we llike hachiya persimmons best, but fuyu are tasty too. thanks for the jujube suyggestion, we have to find some and then review them, as we have not tried them yet! but now we are salivating for some! thanks so much ....
i've just recently subscribed your channel, and i've just wanted to tell you thank you so much for putting this up.
sapote is a native fruit from where i come from (dominican republic,) so not many people know of.
i'm just so happy that you've brought light to one of my favorite fruits ever!!!!
i dunno if this qualifies as a crazy fruit, but there's something called guanabana, which is also a native fruit in d.r., i love them, and hopefully you'll love them too :D
we have never had guanabana. sounds great and we will look for them! what do they taste like? glad you enjoyed the sapote info. we sure love them! mmmm
i just looked up guananbana and realized they are the same as soursop. we have not had them yet, but hear they are similar to cherimoyas, which we also have a video about! anyway, will keep an eye out for sure! :)
yes, we will be doing video stuff in the future about keeping things local, gardening at home, etc...we just learned about how to grow herbs along fencing using recycled PVC piping and drilling holes in them for the seeds and dirt! we will be doing more on these things as time goes on. thanks for the suggestion! :)
I'm a weird wild fruit! Best of luck to you..great information you provide, and when I'm in Ojai, I'll definitely look you up. I'm a mountain girl myself, living in Flagstaff, AZ. Ciao!
o awesome...i (julie) went to NAU for my Art Ed degree. i love that town like an old home. defintiely look us up and we will show you around the coastal area. ha ha...you are a weird wild fruit. may we all be weird and wild. okay, off to work for a while, so chat with you later..... jules :)
Wow it looks incredible. I have never had one, you are eating it the same way I eat my dragonfruits... chilled like a sorbet. It's wonderful. Okay so I would love to see a video on coconut. So many people are under the impression that it's a bad form of fat, yet many raw gurus rave of it's healing powers and how it's saturated fat but healthy. So many people have been mislead on coconuts, maybe you might consider "cracking the truth about coconuts" to those who are misinformed! Luv outdoor vids!
thanks for the feedback. we are DEF gonna do a coconut video! for sure! ya can't support raw food without it, huh? yum. it is so hard to get raw coconuts without the chemical dip. the white ones in the store are all dipped. rawguru sells the organic, non-chemical ones, but they are limited supply and expensive. so one day we wanna sell them! yum! :) talk to you soon....julie and sarah people are stil slowly subscribing. so thanks again!
Hi Friends. Wow, okay so I have a bubble burst now lol Are you referring to white mature or Thai youngs? dipped? or both? I buy Thai youngs and now I'm wondering if they are dipped... I look forward to your coconut video as I have interest in learning more about their skinny dipping... crazy coconuts! save the coconuts! Ps. I made you two a fun fruit background in case you ever want to use it for your profile page background! I was fooling around and really loving fruit/veg collages right now...
Now that's a good demo. Thanks!

yeah, they tend to be much more tropical. but if you are ever in california during the spring or late winter, they are ripe then.
