Well, I see the obvious specifications, such as the brand, capacity, and type of elevator, but for the in-depth specifications, I figure out the motor size, by dividing the capacity by 100, and as with the speed/travel, I determine the heights of the rooms, the top floor, and the sections.
Apparently, the certificates in Texas do not show the speed, brand, and capacity for the elevator. They just show inspection codes, elevator type, and inspector/owner contact numbers.
I think with geared elevators, they refer to the gearbox, which adjusts the speed, while gearless doesn't have the gearbox, and therefore, travels at faster speeds.
I guess the rooftop level has the machine room, but they could have just extended the height to accomodate a machine room & rooftop level travel distance. Also, for most of today's elevators, they serve the rooftop, although some don't serve that floor.
And there's also a rooftop level which are not served by Elevators. Why don't the elevators go up to the roof level? Are most elevators in today's time required to serve all floors the structure has including parking roof level?
A red up arrow but not a red down arrow?! Why is that?

Maybe the main floor uses red indicators, but the other floors use white.

And it sounds more pleasing than the shrill Dover buzz.

I like the "cricket" BUZZ better than the "Whine" or "Dog Whistle"

So do I.

Not buzzes, but a beep.
elevator9917 3 years ago
Yes, but a green up arrow and red down arrow would be a lot more interesting on a Dover Impulse lantern.

A RED up arrow?!?

You could also look at the certificate for the speed, too. That's what I do.

Yes, I agree, and I think all elevators should serve all floors, including basements and rooftops.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
Question: When they say geared and gearless, what gear are they referring to?
Baytrail 3 years ago
It never makes sense how the elevators don't serves the roofs or sometimes the basements of a parking garage.
Baytrail 3 years ago
I would do up the doors, and down the windows.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
If you recorded an elevator with glass windows AND glass doors, which views would you show us and in which direction would you show us the views?
Baytrail 3 years ago
Yes, I agree, but I also like these chimes as well, along with the bell chimes.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
my favorite dover chime is the one in gluses medical city dover elevator and the one at macys monroville

as with all your videos... AWESOME!!!!
dieselducy 3 years ago
But why can't all the floors be above or below ground?
Baytrail 3 years ago
Well, the building sits on a hill, so they had to place 2 of the floors below ground.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
The upper floors are for visitor parking, and the lower floors are for medical staff parking.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
How come some floors are above ground and some are below ground?
Baytrail 3 years ago
Cool elevator!

All of the lanterns use white/white illumination, but on the main floor, they use red/red illumination.

The 2 basements are for doctor/contract parking only, and they don't have tunnel access to the medical plaza building.
CaptainElevator42189 3 years ago
Why Are There 2 Basements?
Elevator5519 3 years ago
Are they probably service area or tunnel access?
