had an s10 like this, true sleeper except the 10's out back, never touched the paint, went true hot rod black, a good ole small block and cheap mufflers for the sleeper sound, ran 12.90 on street tires @ 118. best time of my life building and driving that truck. SLEEPERS ROCK!

My 73 runs low to mid 14s. 2100CC motor, dual intake. People are shallow. I have a 62 Galaxie cruiser that is not all pretty. I take it to shows and I hear people talk crap. @guapomen427 Well it's a car that does not give the visual or outward impression that it is capable of performance, but beneath the hood (in this case trunk), it actually is. Brits call it Q-cars I think, while they call it sleeper cars here. The polar opposite would be a ricer, completely sporty and flashy but mostly stock beneath the hood.

@vw4l1fe Thank you! I took a merged header, and cut the small 3 bolt flange off. Welded on a universal V8 Style header flange,(so it maintains larger inside diameter instead of reducing down so much) and welded on a Single chamber flowmaster and 3 inch pipe

What type pf valve springs did you use for the heads to keep the valves from floating over 5K? I have a stock 1600 but around 4K RPM I can hear/feel them floating and would like to get rid of it for the sake of longevity.

Very nice, a 1960 Beetle with a stock motor would just be hitting 50 mph at the finish line. Much like mine did. Not very areodynamic but good at acceleration because they are so light and the motor in back helps with traction.

First of all, your analogy about God is flawed. If I want to see why your car is so fast, I just have to pop the hood. I'm a college student and I use my limited budget from part time job salaries to toss in a few bits and pieces here and there for my '75 mini cooper S (most recent addition is a racing fuel pump), nothing done to the body which is almost perfect, save for a few bumps here and there. I consider it a sleeper in making, it can hold it's own against minorly tuned cars for now. You have no idea how often my friends laugh at it though. I love what you've done to your beetle!
