  • This is a cruise ship with no makeup on.

  • oh shit. if transformers ever becomes a threat.... im staying away from the seas... just sayin'

  • I'd like to know about the fuel consumption

  • @transdrole, I'd guess around 170-180 g/kWh.

  • i wanna see something this big fly. who's with me?

  • whats it like at sf10?

  • i wanna se it vs iceberg

  • Wonderful Cruise!!!!

  • allure is exactly the same.

  • Resident Ship 4 at 00:01.

  • allure is the same right

  • As great as this ship is...from the side it's not the nicest looking lol

  • PS. Every boat that Royal Caribbean International has owned been built in Finland, France and Germany. Royal Caribbean International is not even a 'hispanic' company, it is Norwegian /American owned.

  • HAHAHA I think that "burden of proof" is way over his head as clearly he is incapable of even preforming "google search" LOL.... but I am with you, lets see the links to the great hispanic built ship. Put your money were your mouth is. Fact check. Reply, then spell check for gods sake and then post.

  • What exactly did you accomplish... having a permanent suntan??? This ship was built in Finland by STX Europe shipyards in Turku.

  • see what we Hispanics can acomplish

  • @mexiacn100boy, if by "Hispanics" you mean something related to Spain, I can clearly see what "you Hispanics" accomplished as far as shipbuilding is concerned. Viking ADCC was delivered from the Spanish shipyard in time, right? ;)

  • u funny that ship belgongs to ''roly Caribbean'' mexico cuba gutemala venizuela all helped build the ship spain is all the way in eurpoe it had noting to do with this o and mexico is always more powerful than spain

  • @mexiacn100boy, I don't recall reading or hearing of any significant Mexican, Cuban, Guatemalan or Venezuelan contributions regarding the construction of this ship. While the shipyard in Turku has many foreign workers, as far as I've understood most of them come from Estonia or Russia. Could you enlighten me what you have accomplished regarding the Oasis of the Seas?

  • o well thats ur porblem maby ur jeouos of us hispanics but f*** off

  • @mexiacn100boy, I don't have anything against Hispanic people. You just have the burden of proof as you claimed that Hispanic people from various countries helped to build the ship and, well, I haven't heard of that. I guess that's my problem.

  • well obviously its gna be stable it weighs 220,000 TONS!!!!

  • Oasis of the Seas weighs around 100,000 tons.

  • @tupsumato no it weighs 220 cuz i was watchin a documentary on it and carnival victory weighs 100 thousand tons hav u seen how much bigger this ship is?

  • With the given main dimensions (360 m x 47 m x 9,3 m) the ship can not weigh 220,000 tons. It simply doesn't displace enough water.

You're making a common mistake. Oasis of the Seas's gross tonnage is 225,000 (gross) tons. It's the interior volume of the ship, not the weight.

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhh gros.....wut dus that mean?

  • @beaum1cah, what don't you understand?

Actually I made a mistake in my previous post. "Gross tonnage" is an unitless index related to the ship's internal volume:

    GT = V * [0.2 + 0.02 * log(V)]

in which V is the ship's volume in cubic meters.

The older unit, "gross register ton", was 100 cubic feet or approximately 2,83 m³. It can be considered obsolete and is usually not calculated for modern ships.

  • so is that actualy how much it actualy weighs?

  • I don't recall seeing the ship's displacement in any official sources, but it can be estimated by with the main dimensions.

The block coefficient of cruise ships is generally around 0.6, so based on length, breadth, draught and the density of water we get

    0.6 * 360 m * 47 m * 9.3 m * 1.025 ton/m³ = 96,774 tons ~ 100,000 tons.

  • Im surprised this boat has not transformed into a Autobot yet.

  • oh yeah, that's true ship's made in finland are good not like carnival dream which made in italy all cheap materials they used...MAFIA!!!

  • Why do people say SHE for a ship, wouldn't it be IT for things?

    Please help...thanks

  • It's an old tradition.

  • marciozack, people address she or her to ship coz' she's always wet on the bottom and you have to ride at her too, even chris columbus, magellan long time they address their ship like that before you ask google first...do you speak english babalu!

  • @marciozack It's tradition in the maritime world to refer to all ships as "She". I found this on Wiki answeres: At the time of the ancient mariners even as far back as 500 BC, most were 'married to the sea' due to their love for the ocean. The ships were their livelihood, their home and their love. As a compliment to the woman they loved they named their sailing vessels after them, telling them that it would remind them of the ones they left behind for the months and sometimes years ..."

  • This has nothing to do with English language here and is nothing to do with English grammar rules. This has to do with ship building tradition only.

In virtually every ship building country of the world, ships are referred to as female. It's been this way for hundreds of years.

The origins are probably because the ship represents to those within it, a womb-like protective environment not so different from a mother carrying her young.

  • 0:07 Oh no!!!! It's a Decepticon!!!!

  • This ship is made by Korean company STX. STX has many department but the one which locate in europe made this ship.

Also this ship finished construction at finland but started from Korea. Lots of Korean workers and Finland workers made this wonderful ship. 5times bigger than titanic and #1 ship in the world now.

    They Got everything inside.

  • Perno Shipyard, located in Turku, Finland, was owned by norwegian Aker when they started the project, building Oasis of the Seas. It was built from start to finish in Turku.

  • Funny how Korea isn't mentioned anywhere but as the home of STX that bought Norwegian Aker Yards in 2007 thus creating STX Europe that is based in Norway. What exactly was done to the ship in Korea? Any details? Facts?

  • @parker0608

leas tit is made good then

heard japan is building a floating city now that is suppossed to house over 50,000 people and with stand 300 mph storms
