Anyone else think the last episode of season 4 was a bit....dark (and not happy dark I mean dark) like the Sherlock Homes skit and the last "Event Skit", I mean it was good but it was dark as all Hell.
@LSSJBardock Do you think the baby in their sketch is their actual daughter? Because I know she gave birth to their daughter a year before this series aired so it could be possible!
Showing one of 'them' takes a lot of the comedy out of the quiz broadcast. Hopefully this is the last one. Still they could have done the same thing without showing one of them.
surprised the masturbatory discouragement act didnt get more of a laugh... also surprised masturbatory is actually a word and isnt getting flagged by spell-check
I love Hennimore, but I hope they'll drop it after this series, the joke is wearing a bit thin. Same with the quiz broadcast, although it's been funnier this series than last since they started putting more actual jokes into the dialogue.
Am I the only one that finds this series progressiely disappointing? Easy laughs and ever-cheapening sketches that eschew the intelligence that used to make the show what it is; perhaps it *is* just me, but it really feels like ther's been a massive drop in quality, and something of a betrayal of sophistication
@0m12 I love M&W and Peep Show and I think David is sheer genius on panel shows, but their sketch comedy has always fallen short for me. Every once in a while they'll have a sketch that I really love, like the first few Sir Digby Chicken Caesars, and the Holmes/Watson, but I've always found them to be so-so sketch writers. A lot of it is also that they come up with a good idea, then stretch it out until it's not funny anymore. They do this a lot.
@janeeyre1990 Do you have kids? I have just had a baby with my wife and seeing the change in our relationship charicatuerised like that I think is hilarious.
Thanks so much for the u/l, gem. I love M&W and ep 5 is a bit of a return to form after a bit of a dip in 3&4. The 4th season has had its moments (Garnier & Gift Shop are highlights), but unfortunately they've resorted to a couple of 'stocks', like Hennimore, Up Yours and the post-apocalypse quiz. It's ok to run on with an idea or two, like the nasty vicar/waiter or Digby C-C but there's been a little bit of overboiling with a couple in S4. Still, they are brilliant.
Damn They Shot Sheila ! lmao !
