  • Have you ever worked with Phoenix clay? I kinda have when i was in high school

  • @nemesis111680 Hi, I mixed T-2 (from local store) and B-Mix with grog (Laguna) about 2:1 ratio.

  • What type of clay do you use ?

  • More amazing thing is he didnt even trim it and thickness of the wall was perfect! I always admire your work!

  • Great Camera angle!

  • That looks so much like a pumpkin, it is absolutely incredible.

    You are amazing. Utterly amazing.

  • The new close ups are great! I always learn something from you. Your technique just mesmerizes me! Could watch you all day...

  • If the pumpkin is completely inclosed, wont the air inside blow it up? at least thats what i have been taught.

  • @TheDraindeimo Please re-watch the clip around 10:50.

  • @hsinchuen ah, i turned away for a few seconds for a text message haha

  • The close-ups were very well done. Learning by observing.

  • Hi Hsin-Chuen. Did Wu Rhang-Nung throw with very little water as you do?

  • @credenza1 Yes, I learned using slip to throw form Mr. Wu. I have many chances to observe him doing demos, and after the demos his clothes was as clean as you seen me throwing on my other videos.

  • I bet these sell like crazy on thanksgiving. Is that shino you typically glaze them with

  • @js74858 As you see on my very first slide, those are the glazes I used to glaze my pumpkins.

  • Can I ask what practice and training was like in Taiwan? What were some of the first forms and how many would they require you to throw?

  • @zhpottery Hi, you might think I was trained in a ceramic factory in Taiwan. Not at all, I just happened to take a pottery class in my undergraduate about 30 years ago. I was lucky to study under one of the master ceramicist, Wu Rhang-Nung. You can Google to search his portfolio. My major in my undergraduate was mechanical engineering. I remember back then, we just learned how to throw by observing. It's not like today we have so many tools to learn how to throw.
