Oh no the police have finally started to crack down on my illegal activity! Its the end of the world and everyone but me is to blame!
Seriously why is it that difficult to apply for a permit and a police escort on your events? If they wont give that to you then sue them for it. Why do you seem to find it necessary to provoke everyone into a confrontation by blocking the road for well over 30min or more without warning.
Up with personal and civil responsibility, up with the bicycle, and down with mob rule - whether by bikers disobeying traffic laws or authorities breaking moral laws. Our authorities have the higher responsibility of the two, and must be held more culpable in their wrongdoing.
Bicyclists do not obstruct traffic, they ARE traffic! They are also individuals, and must behave as such.
Hmmm Illegal activity? Like stopping traffic illegally? Protesting without a permit? Running red lights? Restricting Emergency responders from reaching destinations?
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
This is why I hate big cities. I spent a couple of days in NYC once. That was two days too many. If you put too many rats in a cage they start fighting. Throw in a bunch of caffeine and donut crazed cops with a bunch of activists and this is what you get. Fun to watch, though. Better than TV.
Someone needs to stick a spoke in these guys tires, they just ruin the road for everyone, fellow cyclists included.
Running red lights is illegal folks, and when 2000+ bikes do it someone is bound to notice. You want fair and equal treatment you got it, if you drove a car like that you'd get stopped just the same, and if you resisted arrest like I keep seeing on these videos... well don't be surprised if the police aren't your biggest fans.
Hippies. Always trying to start shit. A bunch of losers with a mob mentality who think it's their life-long duty to go against "THE EVIL ESTABLISHMENT"!!!. I hope they crack your asses over the head with a baton.
actually you have the 5 Borough Bicycle Club confused with the new york cycle club (NYCC).
It was a big and bold move for the 5BBC to initiate the lawsuit, think their average age on rides is 45 plus. They really aren't a speedy spandex SUV loving crowd. Now the NYCC would never file a lawsuit like this or bike to work, their membership is more of the speedy spandex $5000 and up bicycle crowd, that think critical mass gives the good properly clad in spandex bikers a bad name.
Why americans defend the right to protest in democracy when USA is NOT a democratic country.
Start making democracy first.
Long life Critical Mass!!!
