  • if you don't know what the song is about, go to 3:03

  • as of yet, a brilliant swan song.

  • who cant get sad with pavement this cheers me up everytime my freind really loves it!! pavement makes music so out of this world!

  • They're such a nerdy band. and I love them so much more because they admit it. All they're music videos look like a lot of fun too.

  • excellent band-it's such a feel good song and video! love it!

  • You can spend all the money you want on a music video but it won't beat just filming a bunch of people having fun

  • @pidgin Exactly! That's why Pavement make the best videos. It's just them dudes having a great day

  • They rule

  • This is a perfect pop record.

  • stupid moves ....lol

    happy band :D

  • marry me stephen malkmus

  • AMAZING!

  • they don't seem comfortable acting this quirky

    great song

  • @mmeditatio Indeed they don't. They feel much more comfortable on stage.

  • This video is really gangsta.

  • @hitherandyon Word

  • @hitherandyon specially when malkmus looks at the camera and hits his chest with both hands, it's like:

i'm the boss here, bitch. no... is more like a back street boys video... like "babe, you dont know the way i feel"

aw shit... im talking nonsense again.

it just remind me of lonely island stuff and "how to write a love song" by axis of aweome and "pop song" by Jon Lajoie.

it snap something in my brain somehow

  • they're like an anti boy band in this video :)

  • ahh I see, it makes sense now, I know what they mean by carrot rope now! :p

  • the band is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    pretentious, it's a joke.

  • @bille77 booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo . booo.

you suck. go and watch your 30 seconds to mars dvd. and have a crywank. Leave Pavement to us cool kids.

    boooo...

  • @frankieknuckles1000 I might suck, but you're getting my point.

  • @bille77 they soooooooooooooooooooo are not

  • a little little christian lie.

  • ahhh 3:04 LOL i think he just realised what he'd done.

  • @surferrosa242 HOW COME YOU WRITE LIKE THIS

  • decades are meaningless, there is good music being made and released all the time.

  • it's my second-hand wonder

  • Dont worry about music quality cause it switches decades! 70s is great, 80s seemed meh, 90s rocked, 2000s sucked, 10s should be good!

  • @rainbowsprinkles0123

lets fucking hope so, because it sure as hell aint looking that way, once the companies see what sells the best why would they change to actual good music?

  • what ablum is this off of? can someone make a tape for me. thanks.

  • my friend's band wrote a song called "Gay for Stephen Malkmus" and it mentions his carrot rope in it.

Don't wanna seem like I wrote this to advertise, but look them up...They're called The Frontier Psychiatrists.

  • geeze their videos suck

  • Glad they reunited. Just saw Cracker (Camper Van B) perform in Portland. It's nice to see my gen x bands perform live. Makes me feel 20 yrs younger for a minute or two.

  • Saw them on Colbert Report

  • @lakid87 same dude I'm trying to find that song they played last night it was the best part of the show

  • @Theblob516 They played Gold Soundz.

  • @Theblob516 they played gold soundz

  • @lakid87

i almost pissed my pants when i heard they were gonna be on the repor' :D

  • how underrated is this song? This is like the best song ever!!!!!!

  • It's the gordon's fishermen!

  • lol @ the drummer @1:36

  • Would you like to play 20 questions with me?

  • easy on the ears leaves ya thinkin, as always, uncle

  • i miss 90's music, i wonder if they will miss the music of the 2010's in 2020. i doubt it.

  • @ElimRem no we will that is how we (humans) work i guess. I remember growing up in the 90's and everyone including myself always said nothing happened in the 90's...and now we are glorifying them!

  • @ElimRem I hope not.

  • i love pavement videos, there just like 'hey i got a rain coat, a santa costume and a bow and arrow' film that

  • Periscopes!

  • "hey little boy would you like to know whats in my pocket or not?" whats that shit all about? haha

  • Comment removed

  • miss the 90s, where the songs were simpler and colorful in a natural way.

  • If i ever see one of them in the streets I'd give them a hug and a thank you for everything. I'd be the freaky guy who cries and says I love you guys!.

  • dis song is my least favorite off the album... but dats not a bad thing, terror twilight is a classic

  • this video is wonderfully shit! i love it

  • I have some carrot rope, it's great. Fills the gap between string and rope, although not sure of relation to twine.

  • from their best album

  • everyone loves pavement

  • this just melts my heart.

  • IS THIS SONG ABOUT DICKS?

  • Hey look you guys, a Pavement video where Malkmus isn't merely fulfilling his contractual obligation; he looks to actually be having fun.

  • @nickmjones He was the only one having any fun at the time....give it a few months and he was the most unhappy member of Pavement

  • Today, me and a few friends got caught in the rain walking home. Instead of getting drenched, we each bought some yellow raincoats. I was instantly reminded of Carrot Rope and listened to it the entire way home.

  • @DrownPumpkin

oh how convenient that you just HAPPENED to have a cd or mp3 player or whatever with carrot rope on it fuckin liar i bet you don't even have any friends asshoel

  • @DrownPumpkin That's a cool memory to have.

  • A great video to end their ten years together...

  • Hmmmm....Insane Clown Posse or Pavement? PAVEMENT DAMMIT!! Pavement.

  • @chinacat sir if coul rate your comment with a million thumbs i would

  • I love the goofy music vid in this one.

Even if this is one of the "poppiest" pavement songs, still gotta love it cuz its pavement.

  • this song makes me happy

  • gotta love those moves!

  • o i meant that their tracks are too good and in too large a quantity of greatness

  • i used to think who doesnt like Pavement but there are actually a whole ton of ppl that dont like them i dont understand it. listening to them is like a sugary molasses concentrate for your ears. the one problem that i can think of with pavement is that their tracks are too much and in too large a quantity on their albums it can become overwhelming

  • Bands are never this happy anymore..... Pavement is just another underrated band to put on my list

  • @DX4LIFFE

And this is their "depressed" period, so imagine...

  • Mark Ibold is just delighted with life altogether in this video.

  • Yeah, The Wicket Keeper refers to when they went to a Cricket match in Blighty! Either the keeper fell over or got knocked on the head by the ball I assume?

Cricket..? - the game Baseball ripped off and did a poor job of it - like American Football over Rugby. Ah those two world sports that only America play... :)

  • What does Malkmus sing?

"The wicket-keeper is down" oder "The wicked keeping us down" ?

  • @kronos4293 Fuck off. If you take this video seriously, then you should kill yourself.

  • @crassisdead WOAH u mad brah?

  • @kronos4293 Uh, you're a little late buddy.

  • you can feel the weather in that last shot.

  • man this is way better than kesha all she can do is 70 things, sing terribly, and 69

  • @vegmonster666-hahahaha

  • Stephen Malkmus to be on dancing with the stars based on this video?

  • The opening always reminds me of an Orange Juice song which is possibly the best compliment I can give. Malkmus you utter genius.

  • I would have never been able to tell they were "Indy"

  • These guys are awesome dancers ^_^. Very mellow music, I love it.

  • Great song! LOVE the beginning.

  • ganja rules all

  • Pavement Rules!

  • Best alternative band ever!

  • no groups like this now

  • adoro eles dançando

  • Stephen Malkmus is so fine.

  • eugh what is this

  • @kwanzer84 So you mean to say that the only thing Pavement are shit at is sucking dick

  • @kwanzer84

yeah well so is your mum

  • I loved this band and I like this song but this video, seriously, what a pile of steaming cack.

  • watch this on mute and listen to gaybar by electric six

  • @ferlongjumpcallum123 That was amazing.

  • oh man, when I first clicked on it I thought it said carrot rape

  • I call bullshit. Pavement is where it's fuckin AT. But modest mouse is cool too..

  • I like Modest Mouse but Pavement is the fuckin' best.

    Pavement = Radiohead > All

  • The strain of his voice at times is like that of a much-improved Modest Mouse.

  • @trickyjabs

    trickyass

  • Comment removed

  • Well then you have the most boring taste in the world.

  • btw that was aimed at you, trickyjabs.

  • I think they would take that as a compliment

  • Screw you itunes I don't like your adds getting all up in my music.
