Austin is limited because despite the faux progressive facade, you're still a bunch of obnoxious Texans. You'll never be San Francisco or Portland. You'll never have the natural resources or the architecture of St. Louis.

The general understanding in America is that when Texans want to insult a place they typically stick to Oklahoma, where most of them have at least visited. Perhaps you're looking beyond Oklahoma since you need its water so desperately.
