rainbow: Any persons who falls under LGB/T are all confused..
The fact that your sort had to list the types of coruptions under Homosexuality shows there is a problem.
A study on UK TV showed a Transgender Man now woman-- is in relationship with a Transgender Woman now a man.. I couldn't believe it... Roles being swapped.. (This however is not a Homosexual Relationship!)
The show before that showed a Lesbian out campaigning with her children for LBG/T rights. NOW That's wrong!!
Seywah, they're confused? Why? Because they happen to love someone of the same sex? It's none of your business who they love. And why shouldn't transgender people have relationships if they want? They're not bothering you. And why shouldn't a lesbian mom campaign for equal rights with her children? They're affected by anti-gay laws, too. There's nothing wrong with not wanting to be treated like a second-class citizen.
rainbowgirl~ Your campaigning for your parents immorality, can't you see how wrong it is for Male to sex-up Male & visa versa?!! Com'on!
Yes they are bothering me, why do you think I'm on here sharing that it's bothering me?... For sport?
This anomaly has caused my children, whom I've never shared my opinion with, disturbances. They can not comprehend why a Man would want another Man.. In the case of the 'girly boy' they saw!
TLBG are bothersome! Equal Rights for Bigots too then!!
Seywah, why in the world would it be wrong? Gay and lesbian people are not hurting anyone else. They're human beings, and they feel all the same emotions and they love their partners in the exact same way that straight people do. If you're "bothered" by the mere existence of gay people, I'm sorry, but this is a free country and people have the right to live how they want. Your children are being taught prejudice by *you,* and that's why they're "disturbed." Children are not born anti-gay.
The problem is that people who CANNOT have their own children want to teach our children that their lifestyle choices are acceptable and normal. I don't like the discrimination and hate that comes from fear...but I think that parents should be allowed to teach their children the truth...that God's plan for happiness is that sexual relationships be kept within the bonds of marriage between a man and a woman.
Deb, what are you talking about? Plenty of gay people have children! And their children attend school too. I was raised by two gay dads, and I went to school. My brothers and I deserved to be treated like any other children and our family deserved the same respect as any other family. Public school is for *all* kids, not just children from straight families and not just children from conservative families. You can teach your kids whatever you want, but school should be a place of mutual respect.
Yes, they can adopt or foster other people's children. And yes adoptive parents can be as loving as bioligcal parents. But two homosexual peopld CANNOT be biological parents. And I believe that their motives for adopting and fostering have more with their own need to "prove" their acceptability than a desire to be parents.
Deb, wow, what a strange and sad thing to say. First of all, gay and lesbian adopt children for the *exact same reason* that straight people do -- because they want to raise a family. Second of all, gay and lesbian people are not sterile. They conceive children as well as adopt children, not that it matters how a child comes into a family. The bottom line is that kids of gay and lesbian parents *exist* and we certainly attend school and deserve the same protections and respect as other kids.
rainbow~ Ok, you grew up in a crazy set-up of a Home.. You tell me has that altered you feelings towards 'religion?'
I only know what the adopted parent told me & several others who were there! They said they never allow the children to come into their bedroom.. They said: 'Oh No, we made it clear that's not allowed!'
Now, my kidz are always in our bedroom & when sick or just cause, are in bed the whole night! I use to love sleeping in my parents bed when I was younger! That's Family life!
Seywah, my family is not crazy. My dads have been together for over 25 years and raised three children. They are normal parents who took good care of us and loved us just like any straight parents would have. Also, I'm not sure what you're talking about regarding religion? My feelings about religion haven't really altered. I chose my religion as an adult, so my parents didn't have anything to do with it.
P.S, Seywah, I don't know anything about this couple you're mentioning, but why don't they allow the kids in their bedroom? I've never met a gay family who did that, and as I said, I know hundreds of gay families. Maybe they said that to you because of the terrible and untrue stereotypes about gay men and little children. I have no idea why else they would say that. However, of course, sleeping in your parents' bed from time to time is common in all kinds of families, gay or straight.
rainbow~ Don't you know statistics can say what ever you want it to. The statistics that you googled 'APA gay parents- is skewed over!!

You may be the by product of a samesex couple & therefore your view may be from your experience.
Seywah, there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that children of gay parents are harmed or confused by growing up in same-sex households. If you did some very, very basic research, you would see that. As for the family you know, most children with two dads call them "Daddy and Papa " or "Dad and Daddy" or something. I know hundreds of families like mine, and I don't know any who use "Mommy" for a male parent, but this is your big objection?? What about whether the kids are well taken care of?
I did do some basic research & found that the LGBT community gets their disputres squashed! Infact the Duke Uni Offical is not the first to do what he has done.. however, He attempted to gag the police, news agents etc.

Every Child deserves a family with a Mother & Father, to give them the correct foundation of how life should be!
Stop, I insist- STOP! Aiding in the distruction of the family system established by GOD!
Seywah, I think I got the correct foundation of how life should be. What are you so afraid of? What do you think gay parents teach their kids? They're just like any other parents. I have no interest in destroying the family system. Why would I want to do that? I love families of all shapes and sizes. There's not only *one* good kind of family. There are many good kinds.
Maniac, really? Where is that evidence? I was raised by two gay dads, and I wrote three papers on this topic in college, and I've kept a very close eye on all the research that's been done. There have been many dozens of studies that all show that children of gay and lesbian parents are not disadvantaged or harmed by our upbringings.
Seywah, my home was not crazy. And I have no idea what that has to do with religion? Kids of gay parents are raised in all kinds of religious traditions, just like kids of straight parents. I personally do have a religion and I go to church, just like other people. As for my sexual orientation, I don't see why it should matter, but I am heterosexual. So are my brothers. Being gay is not "contagious" or "catching." Spending time around gay people or having gay parents does not make a child gay.
rainbow~ Its' all about Religion. Religion teaches MORALITY, which would shine the light on your family situation as Corupt!
Your not honest! Throughout the research in UK Gay parentage ususally turn out children who are bi-sexual or LGBT. I know of a whole family of homosexuals. Yes, its paterned behavouir, taught & caught!

I don't spend more than a min with the gays I know! Hi & Bye!
Seywah, not all religions teach the same thing. Not all religions are anti-gay. There are many religions that embrace and accept LGBT people. My religion performs same-sex weddings, for example. As for research, all I can say is that your facts are wrong. Try looking up all the dozens of studies that have been done. There have been plenty of them, and they show no such thing.
rainbow~ Your religion would even accept things such as 'abortion, bigamy, etc..' All that does is show how your sort have gotten into religion to corupt it:
The Bible calls this 'Wolves in Sheeps Clothing.'
When Christianity mirrors the World, all we are left with is 'Chris.' I follow Christs teaching on hating Sin! Anything that is harmful to true Christ-ianity, ie: lewdness, selfishness, greediness, soulish, etc.. is harmful to the Body of Christ!
Seywah, what does Christianity have to do with this? Not every religious person in the world is Christian. There are Jews and Buddhists and Pagans and all sorts of other groups. And not all Christians are fundamentalists. Me, personally, I'm not Christian. I'm Unitarian Universalist. So your comments about Christianity don't have anything to do with me. You can practice whatever form of Christianity you want. I don't have to agree with it, just like you don't have to agree with my religion.
imagine -- someone whose parents are gay believes it shouldn't be a huge controversy when kindergarten students are taught not to bully gay people for who they are. give me a break. the "correct foundation of how life should be" isn't about who you live or sleep with, it's about recognizing others' humanity and being a decent person.
and if you believe the APA is somehow skewing its science to back the "homosexual agenda", you're a conspiracy theorist, my friend.
novaembla~ It is true that the APA is somehow skewing its science to back the "homosexual agenda". You don't have to be a nut job to know that!
The 'Correct Foundation of Learning' for K-5 should be Religion & History, Math, English & Science. That's what the Basic foundation of school life is a bout!
The basic knowledge that it takes a Man & a Woman to make a baby! & reconizing the importance of the Family Structure: A Mom, Dad & Kidz!
i agree Seywah, and seeing as how children that young are yet undeveloped in their sexual orientation, its another way they can bring up the subject of sex to small children... cant teach Kindergarten sex ed but teach them about gay and lesbian sensitivity? little johnnys 1st question: "wuts a gay?"
A: "oh its a dude that likes men bum fucking him"
home school ur kids ladies n gents- its only getting worse..
ps. anyone out there think "conspiracy theorists" are wackos? what eviidence dou have?
Abasi, how, pray tell, does one "indoctrinate children into the homosexual lifestyle?" You really think it's possible to make children become gay? That's just ridiculous to me. Well over 90% of children raised in gay homes end up straight, and if exposure or environment had anything to do with it, that wouldn't be the case. It's biology.
That's a lie, less than 90% of children raised in gay homes end up straight!
On the documentaries they showed in the UK.. nearly all the children were gay/ bi sexual! They were never given any boundaries & therefore 'Shagged' anything that moved, barked or miaowed!
Seywah, you're wrong about that. I don't know what documentary you're talking about, but if you do some very basic research (google "APA gay parents") you will see that the ratio of sexual orientation does not differ among children of gay parents. In any case, it should not matter, since being gay is not bad, but you might want to at least get your facts straight, no pun intended.
Moreover there is no "crisis" of gay bullying. Racial bullying is far more prevalent. ALL bullying should be stopped. But that is not the gay agenda. GLSEN head Kevin Jennings has said they will "use the bullying issue as a trojan horse to get gay teachings into schools".
Don't fall for the "bullying" cover story. This is all about homosexual recreuitment of children.
Teaching *any* sexuality to five-year-olds is wrong? I'm not buying that! Or else these parents would be clamoring to ban ever Disney movie ever made. Teachers read books with heterosexual characters to kids every single day. As for bullying, have you been near a school in recent years? Kids use words like "faggot" and "that's so gay" all the time. Two little eleven-year-old boys *killed* themselves earlier this year after being subjected to homphobic taunts. This is a big problem.
Yes, teaching any sexuality is wrong. My 7-year old has been called a "fucking faggot" in school and bullied. Other kids are called the N-word. "Bitch" is used as well. None of this has anything to do with homophobia. The kids who use this language and bully are kids who run wild all the time and parents just don't care. Often they have only one parent and watch tons of TV, movie sand hip hop and learn all this language. NO bullying should be tolerated. This has nothing to do with homosexuality.
Of course there should be zero tolerance for bullying, but homophobic slurs are rampant. To say that has nothing to do with gay people is beyond me. And no one cares about heterosexuality in schools, like I said. Every book that kids read in school has heterosexual characters and heterosexual families. I don't know why gay and lesbian families should be treated differently.
P.S. I have two gay dads. What would you tell kids like me? That we should be banned from mentioning our families in school? That we should never expect one of our teachers to read a book that reflects our lives? Well, excuse me, but I am an equal citizen. I deserved the same protection and acknowledgment in school as anyone else. And gay parents pay the same taxes as straight parents. There is no reason their children should be treated differently in school.
I don't have two gay dads? I obviously can't make you believe me, but you could check out my channel, which is dedicated to LGBT families. This is typical of people who want to deny we exist, but yes, I do have two dads. My brothers and I have a biological dad and an adoptive dad, and I've always grown up in a gay family. I wish more people would understand what it was like and how it feels to be ignored in school your whole life. It's not fair that we should be treated differently.
No it is a fundamental misunderstanding by you of human sexuality. This has no place being in public schools period. It is irrelevant to the issue of bullying and merely an effort to indoctrinate the children in acceptance of a deviant lifestyle of which it is only one. Please just leave the kids alone.
Why would people be forced to pull their children from public schools? I mean, the schools are for all children. Not just straight children. And not just children from straight families. Even if someone tried to keep their kids totally ignorant, eventually those children going to find out that gay and lesbian people exist, with or without gay-inclusive curriculum.
But they're not talking about *sex.* They're talking about the fact that gay people exist and that gay families exist. That's not sex education. That's a reflection of the real world. There are children in kindergarten classrooms all over America who have two moms or two dads. I think children *do* need to learn about diversity so they know how to relate to different people in the world. Maybe there would be less teasing in school if children understand that there's nothing wrong with gay people
I grew up with two gay dads, and I care! I think it would have been *so* much better in school if teachers had taken a more active stand and educated children about different kinds of families. Children do care about and are affected by their environment. It's not fair that children from gay homes should be treated differently. What about the kindergartener with two moms? Is she not allowed to have a book about her family read to the class? If not, how is that fair?
Why is is sick? Children from gay families exist. We're entitled to a safe and comfortable school experience too. My dads paid taxes and they deserved to have their kids be treated equally in school.
5 year olds should not be learning about sex it is disgusting. Hey you want to know an interesting fact, in America 50% of queers end up being convicted of paedophilia
It's not about *sex.* No one is talking about sex to kindergarteners. They are talking about gay people and gay families. That has nothing more to do with sex than straight people and straight families. By the way, your facts are seriously messed up. Homosexuality has nothing to do with pedophilia.
This is not about bullying... Most bullying that occurs is based on race so *if* you wanted to do a several year anti bullying program that's where you should start, not sexuality.
Yes kids should be taught not to bully, anyone! and parents have a right to teach their kids what is right and wrong above and beyond any supposed right the school has. I'm uncomfortable with schools teaching any sexuality gay straight or other.. Schools need to teach kids to read and write, period.
Trior, just thinking back on my whole school experience, I heard way more bullying based on sexual orientation than race. Think about it, how often did you hear a white child call a black child the n-word in school? In San Francisco, I never heard it. The teachers would go insane over something like that. But I heard words like "homo" and "lesbo" and "faggot" and "gaywad" all the time. Schools need to teach that *all* bullying is wrong, and anti-gay slurs are not acceptable.
Think about often children say "that's so gay" to mean anything they think is stupid or worthless. And think about how that makes children coming from gay and lesbian homes feel. More than that, it's also not acceptable to totally ignore the fact that gay families exist. What about the kid with two moms? Every other child gets a book about her family read to the class. But this one girl is supposed to be silent? The teacher is supposed to avoid ever mentioning her two moms? How is that fair?
You don't need 5 years of education focused on *one* aspect of bullying, You don't need to tell parents to pound sand, and you don't need to tell kids something that goes against the faith of their home is ok to tell them certain names are not.
This is less about stopping bullying than it is about making glbt allies out of kids and cutting parents out of the process is proof positive that schools will tell mom and dad to sod off for the sake of the pink mafia.
Trior, it's not just *one* aspect. All forms of bullying are addressed in anti-bullying programs. And since bullying based on sexual orientation is a *huge* issue, it's important to address it. As I said, kids of gay parents attend school just the same as kids of straight parents. And gay parents pay taxes just the same as straight parents. There is absolutely no reason we should be forced to be silent or take a second-class status in the classroom.
All parents need to pull their child out on a six day!! The parent need to fall sick if the children are not!
After all you don't see a large advocate to 'stop bullying' or racisim in school!
There are just as many children committing suicide from bullying as there are gay. It's the bullying that's the problem. H/E that's what the Homosexuals are doing now!!
Stop bullying parents, schools, Government & polictians to support your sexual habbits!
Trior, we are just on totally different pages here. Gay people exist in society. There is no reason to ignore gay and lesbian people or treat them as shameful. The schools are for all children, not just straight children, and not just children from straight families. We all deserve a safe and affirming school experience. If teachers do not educate about tolerance for race, religion and sexual orientation, then bullying happens. And that's not fair and it's not a safe environment.
This is not about ignoring Gay people this is about *parents* having more say in the upbringing of their kids than the state. That's what this is about.
If A kid does Bully than a teacher pulls him to the side or/and has a talk with the parents but to preemptively use the power of the state to *compel* a parent to watch their kids be taught a religious upbringing is wrong goes against the very principles of liberty.
Trior, if you don't agree with what the public school is teaching, then you can always send them to private school. The school is always going to have something that goes against *someone's* religion. What about teaching evolution? What about Halloween celebrations? Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate birthdays or salute the flag. Should we ban any mention those from public school to appease JWs? There are certain secular virtues (like tolerance and respect for all) that should be taught.
Right only people who can afford Private Schools have the right to have any say in the education of their kids... That's American.
A parent should have the ultimate say in what their kid can opt in/out of especially on issues of morality and faith. Are they teaching k-5 evolution? No! so why bring in that straw man lets stick with topics relevant to 5yo's
As to JW we should allow their kids to site out the pledge and allow other Christians to sit out these gay ally lessons.
Trior, or you can homeschool. But my point is that the public schools are not just for one religious group. They're for all religious groups. They're not just for one sexual orientation either. What happens if a Muslim family disagrees with what the public school teaches? Should the school eliminate certain subjects just to please them? If a family believes the Earth is only 6000 years old, should the school forbid picture books about dinosaurs being millions of years old to be read?
And, Trior, it can go on and on and on. What if a family disagrees with interracial relationships? Should they have the right to demand that a picture book about an interracial family not be read to the class? If not, why is it okay to demand that a picture book about a gay family not be read to the class? Should parents have the right to have their kids opt out of science tests about evolution? What about parents who disagree with dancing? Should we ban school dances?
Why teach children what is still confusing to Adults?
Are you an advocate for the LGBT Movement? I mean these people are so confused they have to breakdown the arear where the sexual id of each person is-- Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual & Trans-gender.. What a mix up!
Seywah, I have no idea why you think it's confusing. It's never been confusing to me or any other children I know who grew up in same-sex households. It's also not confusing to children who are raised knowing that some of their friends have two moms or two dads. As for stigma, children have to be *taught* to think that being gay is bad. For most, that teaching comes on the playground, when they hear anti-gay slurs and stereotypes and misinformation.
Really? I'm gay and even I wouldn't agree on this... no sexual orientation including straight should be taught in elementary school!

As for research, all I can say is that your facts are wrong. Try looking up all the dozens of studies that have been done. There have been plenty of them, and they show no such thing.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
rainbow~ Your religion would even accept things such as 'abortion, bigamy, etc..' All that does is show how your sort have gotten into religion to corupt it:
The Bible calls this 'Wolves in Sheeps Clothing.'
When Christianity mirrors the World, all we are left with is 'Chris.' I follow Christs teaching on hating Sin! Anything that is harmful to true Christ-ianity, ie: lewdness, selfishness, greediness, soulish, etc.. is harmful to the Body of Christ!
Your research is skewed to Gays!
Seywah 2 years ago
Seywah, what does Christianity have to do with this? Not every religious person in the world is Christian. There are Jews and Buddhists and Pagans and all sorts of other groups. And not all Christians are fundamentalists. Me, personally, I'm not Christian. I'm Unitarian Universalist. So your comments about Christianity don't have anything to do with me. You can practice whatever form of Christianity you want. I don't have to agree with it, just like you don't have to agree with my religion.

imagine -- someone whose parents are gay believes it shouldn't be a huge controversy when kindergarten students are taught not to bully gay people for who they are. give me a break. the "correct foundation of how life should be" isn't about who you live or sleep with, it's about recognizing others' humanity and being a decent person.
and if you believe the APA is somehow skewing its science to back the "homosexual agenda", you're a conspiracy theorist, my friend.
novazembla 2 years ago
novaembla~ It is true that the APA is somehow skewing its science to back the "homosexual agenda".
If Religion is not taught then LGBT cant be!
Seywah 2 years ago
i agree Seywah, and seeing as how children that young are yet undeveloped in their sexual orientation, its another way they can bring up the subject of sex to small children... cant teach Kindergarten sex ed but teach them about gay and lesbian sensitivity? little johnnys 1st question: "wuts a gay?"
A: "oh its a dude that likes men bum fucking him"
home school ur kids ladies n gents- its only getting worse..
ps. anyone out there think "conspiracy theorists" are wackos? what eviidence dou have?

indoctrinating children in the homosexual lifestyle has long been apart of the homosexual agenda
abasi2008 2 years ago
Abasi, how, pray tell, does one "indoctrinate children into the homosexual lifestyle?" You really think it's possible to make children become gay? That's just ridiculous to me. Well over 90% of children raised in gay homes end up straight, and if exposure or environment had anything to do with it, that wouldn't be the case. It's biology.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
rainbowheartgirl~ The same way you did!
That's a lie, less than 90% of children raised in gay homes end up straight!
On the documentaries they showed in the UK.. nearly all the children were gay/ bi sexual! They were never given any boundaries & therefore 'Shagged' anything that moved, barked or miaowed!
Homosexuality is part nurture & part exposure!
Seywah 2 years ago
Seywah, you're wrong about that. I don't know what documentary you're talking about, but if you do some very basic research (google "APA gay parents") you will see that the ratio of sexual orientation does not differ among children of gay parents. In any case, it should not matter, since being gay is not bad, but you might want to at least get your facts straight, no pun intended.

Teaching ANY sexuality to 5 year old is wrong.
FreepShop 2 years ago
Teaching *any* sexuality to five-year-olds is wrong? I'm not buying that! Or else these parents would be clamoring to ban ever Disney movie ever made. Teachers read books with heterosexual characters to kids every single day. As for bullying, have you been near a school in recent years? Kids use words like "faggot" and "that's so gay" all the time. Two little eleven-year-old boys *killed* themselves earlier this year after being subjected to homphobic taunts. This is a big problem.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
Yes, teaching any sexuality is wrong. My 7-year old has been called a "fucking faggot" in school and bullied. Other kids are called the N-word. "Bitch" is used as well. None of this has anything to do with homophobia. The kids who use this language and bully are kids who run wild all the time and parents just don't care. Often they have only one parent and watch tons of TV, movie sand hip hop and learn all this language. NO bullying should be tolerated. This has nothing to do with homosexuality.
FreepShop 2 years ago
Of course there should be zero tolerance for bullying, but homophobic slurs are rampant. To say that has nothing to do with gay people is beyond me. And no one cares about heterosexuality in schools, like I said. Every book that kids read in school has heterosexual characters and heterosexual families. I don't know why gay and lesbian families should be treated differently.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
There is no reason their children should be treated differently in school.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
No you do not have two gay dads. Your response is classic GLSEN propaganda. Pretty obvious after your first reply. Nice try.
FreepShop 2 years ago
I don't have two gay dads? I obviously can't make you believe me, but you could check out my channel, which is dedicated to LGBT families. This is typical of people who want to deny we exist, but yes, I do have two dads. My brothers and I have a biological dad and an adoptive dad, and I've always grown up in a gay family. I wish more people would understand what it was like and how it feels to be ignored in school your whole life. It's not fair that we should be treated differently.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
All they're doing is teaching that gay people exist and should not be bullied. What's so bad about that?
Really, you're afraid that this will make your children gay, which is a fundamental misunderstanding of the causes of homosexuality.
badger634 2 years ago
No it is a fundamental misunderstanding by you of human sexuality. This has no place being in public schools period. It is irrelevant to the issue of bullying and merely an effort to indoctrinate the children in acceptance of a deviant lifestyle of which it is only one. Please just leave the kids alone.
Ma3lst0rm 2 years ago
They're going to force people to pull their children from public schools.
ancestralyuba 2 years ago
Why would people be forced to pull their children from public schools? I mean, the schools are for all children. Not just straight children. And not just children from straight families. Even if someone tried to keep their kids totally ignorant, eventually those children going to find out that gay and lesbian people exist, with or without gay-inclusive curriculum.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
Why? Because kindergarteners don't need this. This is a political agenda forced on little children who have no idea what you're talking about.
Every child has the right to group up unmolested, and discover their own sexuality on their own terms.
People who force sex education onto kindergarteners don't have the child's best interests at heart.
ancestralyuba 2 years ago 2
But they're not talking about *sex.* They're talking about the fact that gay people exist and that gay families exist. That's not sex education. That's a reflection of the real world. There are children in kindergarten classrooms all over America who have two moms or two dads. I think children *do* need to learn about diversity so they know how to relate to different people in the world. Maybe there would be less teasing in school if children understand that there's nothing wrong with gay people
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
What the hell difference does that make to a five year old?
They don't care.
What you're saying is BS. Controlling the educational environment of children is getting power on the cheap.
ancestralyuba 2 years ago
I grew up with two gay dads, and I care! I think it would have been *so* much better in school if teachers had taken a more active stand and educated children about different kinds of families. Children do care about and are affected by their environment. It's not fair that children from gay homes should be treated differently. What about the kindergartener with two moms? Is she not allowed to have a book about her family read to the class? If not, how is that fair?
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
Sick, sick, SICK!
luked1983 2 years ago
Why is is sick? Children from gay families exist. We're entitled to a safe and comfortable school experience too. My dads paid taxes and they deserved to have their kids be treated equally in school.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
5 year olds should not be learning about sex it is disgusting. Hey you want to know an interesting fact, in America 50% of queers end up being convicted of paedophilia
luked1983 2 years ago
It's not about *sex.* No one is talking about sex to kindergarteners. They are talking about gay people and gay families. That has nothing more to do with sex than straight people and straight families. By the way, your facts are seriously messed up. Homosexuality has nothing to do with pedophilia.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
This is not about bullying... Most bullying that occurs is based on race so *if* you wanted to do a several year anti bullying program that's where you should start, not sexuality.
Yes kids should be taught not to bully, anyone! and parents have a right to teach their kids what is right and wrong above and beyond any supposed right the school has. I'm uncomfortable with schools teaching any sexuality gay straight or other.. Schools need to teach kids to read and write, period.
triordanmn 2 years ago
Trior, just thinking back on my whole school experience, I heard way more bullying based on sexual orientation than race. Think about it, how often did you hear a white child call a black child the n-word in school? In San Francisco, I never heard it. The teachers would go insane over something like that. But I heard words like "homo" and "lesbo" and "faggot" and "gaywad" all the time. Schools need to teach that *all* bullying is wrong, and anti-gay slurs are not acceptable.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
Think about often children say "that's so gay" to mean anything they think is stupid or worthless. And think about how that makes children coming from gay and lesbian homes feel. More than that, it's also not acceptable to totally ignore the fact that gay families exist. What about the kid with two moms? Every other child gets a book about her family read to the class. But this one girl is supposed to be silent? The teacher is supposed to avoid ever mentioning her two moms? How is that fair?
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
You don't need 5 years of education focused on *one* aspect of bullying, You don't need to tell parents to pound sand, and you don't need to tell kids something that goes against the faith of their home is ok to tell them certain names are not.
This is less about stopping bullying than it is about making glbt allies out of kids and cutting parents out of the process is proof positive that schools will tell mom and dad to sod off for the sake of the pink mafia.
triordanmn 2 years ago
Trior, it's not just *one* aspect. All forms of bullying are addressed in anti-bullying programs. And since bullying based on sexual orientation is a *huge* issue, it's important to address it. As I said, kids of gay parents attend school just the same as kids of straight parents. And gay parents pay taxes just the same as straight parents. There is absolutely no reason we should be forced to be silent or take a second-class status in the classroom.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
The biggest problem, one the school board is forbidding parents from pulling their kids from. What the hell is the
The second biggest problem is you dont need 5 years and normalization of homosexuality, forced, to tell kids not to use bad names.
if a kid is fat he will be picked on for being fat
if a kid is short he will be picked on for that
if a kids parents are gay he will be picked on for that
if a kids parents are poor they will be picked on for that
This is an excuse for indoctrination!
triordanmn 2 years ago
triordanmn~ You are right! Totally!
Seywah 2 years ago
Trior, we are just on totally different pages here. Gay people exist in society. There is no reason to ignore gay and lesbian people or treat them as shameful. The schools are for all children, not just straight children, and not just children from straight families. We all deserve a safe and affirming school experience. If teachers do not educate about tolerance for race, religion and sexual orientation, then bullying happens. And that's not fair and it's not a safe environment.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
This is not about ignoring Gay people this is about *parents* having more say in the upbringing of their kids than the state. That's what this is about.
If A kid does Bully than a teacher pulls him to the side or/and has a talk with the parents but to preemptively use the power of the state to *compel* a parent to watch their kids be taught a religious upbringing is wrong goes against the very principles of liberty.
triordan1977 2 years ago
Trior, if you don't agree with what the public school is teaching, then you can always send them to private school. The school is always going to have something that goes against *someone's* religion. What about teaching evolution? What about Halloween celebrations? Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate birthdays or salute the flag. Should we ban any mention those from public school to appease JWs? There are certain secular virtues (like tolerance and respect for all) that should be taught.
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
Right only people who can afford Private Schools have the right to have any say in the education of their kids... That's American.
A parent should have the ultimate say in what their kid can opt in/out of especially on issues of morality and faith. Are they teaching k-5 evolution? No! so why bring in that straw man lets stick with topics relevant to 5yo's
As to JW we should allow their kids to site out the pledge and allow other Christians to sit out these gay ally lessons.
triordan1977 2 years ago
Trior, or you can homeschool. But my point is that the public schools are not just for one religious group. They're for all religious groups. They're not just for one sexual orientation either. What happens if a Muslim family disagrees with what the public school teaches? Should the school eliminate certain subjects just to please them? If a family believes the Earth is only 6000 years old, should the school forbid picture books about dinosaurs being millions of years old to be read?
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
And, Trior, it can go on and on and on. What if a family disagrees with interracial relationships? Should they have the right to demand that a picture book about an interracial family not be read to the class? If not, why is it okay to demand that a picture book about a gay family not be read to the class? Should parents have the right to have their kids opt out of science tests about evolution? What about parents who disagree with dancing? Should we ban school dances?
rainbowheartgirl 2 years ago
Why teach children what is still confusing to Adults?
Are you an advocate for the LGBT Movement? I mean these people are so confused they have to breakdown the arear where the sexual id of each person is-- Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual & Trans-gender.. What a mix up!
Seywah 2 years ago
rainbow~ I have one word group for you: Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtle. Do you get meh! Or TMNT!
That sums up the LGBT group!
If its hard for kids to say TMNT, imagine how incredibly hard its going to be for them to even say or comprehened the back door effects!(LGBT)
Its ridiculous teaching 5-k how to hold a knife & fork, many can't even cut their meat or spuds & you envisage this way will remove the gay stigma.
It's now I'm going to teach my kidz how to put the elevator music ON!
Seywah 2 years ago
Seywah, I have no idea why you think it's confusing. It's never been confusing to me or any other children I know who grew up in same-sex households. It's also not confusing to children who are raised knowing that some of their friends have two moms or two dads. As for stigma, children have to be *taught* to think that being gay is bad. For most, that teaching comes on the playground, when they hear anti-gay slurs and stereotypes and misinformation.
