i used to clip my birds! it doesnt break trust but i found out how much happier my birds are fully flighted. it was hard work to flight train them but it was done using daily clicker training on targeting etc.
for all the haters, lets get it right - a bird that is wing clipped can live a Happy healthy life just like a fully flighted bird. Clipping a feather does not break any sort of bond or trust. It's plain silly to think that. Remember birds that lose flight for any reason can live a long time without flight. Also, a bird that plucks its own feathers so severely that it removes its own flight feathers is not not breaking a bond of trust. Clipping is a choice and just as valid as not clipping
What a terrible thing to do. There is absolutely NO reason to do this. Be a responsible owner and allow your bird to be safe without clipping its wings. If you can't figure that out, then don't get a bird!
If clipping the parrot would "break the bond of trust you have with your parrot" then why would you do it? I can't believe you clipped a Cape Parrot. They are so playful and clumsy and likely to hurt themselves when clipped. Instead of teaching owners how to destroy their bird, why don't you put some effort into teaching them how to keep the bird as it is by making some adjustments in their own home or not getting an animal built for flight in the first place.
@kiliparrot Thanks For Posting On This Video! I Was Thinking Of Clipping Clover's Wings, But I Saw Your Comment About Breaking The Bond Of Trust, Made Me Watch The Video, And Now I Know I'm NOT Going To Clip Them! She Trusts Me, Wouldn't Damage That For NOTHING!
@mzdamzel If your parrot is already flighted and trusts you, then I can't even imagine why there'd be any reason to want to clip the wings. The trust part was just quoting the video. Clipping does not stop parrots from flying off outdoors, falling into pots, etc. It doesn't make the parrot trust or want to be with the human. It just prevents them from exercising and doing what it is natural for them to do. Good preventative measures and training are what is necessary and not clipping.

This really works! Trust me!
1. Cover your mouth with your hand
2. Make a wish into it
3. Close your hand into a fist
4. Hold your fist to your heart for4 -5 seconds
5. Send to 3 more videos
6. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life
(Just do not wish for an unicorn or something like that)
