You don't know how reassuring it is as the father of an 11 year old autistic girl to see that officers somewhere are getting this kind of training. It is very hard to feel comfortable approaching constabulary about our family's special concerns (where we are) let alone the topic of our daughter's (possibly) misunderstood behavior. These are sessions for law enforcement.

Your local agency can contact the Illinois Attorney General's Office, Disability Rights Section in Chicago.

It's offered at no cost to law enforcement professionals.
