@drummerJxUNIT Thanks for your useless comment. Did anyone ever say it was fast? It is simply a video showing the single stroke roll. Any idiot can play fast after enough practice - and fast doesn't mean you are a good player. In fact the real test of a good drummer is how they sound when playing slow.

@freedrumrudiments Couldn't have said it better myself. You find this cult of speed with all instruments now, the fastest drummer, the fastest guitar lick, the fastest bass player etc.

Half the joy of drumming is getting the subtle little nuances just right, the tone, the personality.

No one has tone or personality at 20000bpm.

try not using your wrists as much once you get going faster, instead use your middle finger, ring finger, and pinkie, it builds up muscle and you can go alot faster without struggling
