This was a brilliant movie and in my opinion better than Braveheart.Much more historically accurate.The acting in this movie was superb.I love this movie

@PURPLEBEATTIE1 Rob Roy is one of my favorites but BraveHeart has a completely different "feel" and really pushed two themes, that of the Life of Wallace and the courage and ferocity of the Scottish warriors. I own both movies and have always watched them while in completely different moods. Rob Roy showed much less of the national troubles and focused mainly on the individual lives of a few. Thats my amateur opinion, anyways.

@N1k1mon I see where you are coming from. At the end of the day both really good movies.Braveheart was historically inacurate tho'. As far as I have read Wallace was not married and the statements about The Bruce left a bit to be desired.But nevertheless it was a brilliant movie.As indeed was Rob Roy.Both great men and Rob Roy was a bit of a businessman in his day !

A disgrace to see all those people in America leaving the Theatre 5 mins into the movie... they couldnt understand the accent! accent.. not language that is... Fantastic movie.. played well w/ exception of Jessica Lange.. accent was horrible!
