Great way to protect yourself on the roads - make yourself a danger to everyone else. And what happens if another Hummer runs into you? Normally I think Harold Scruby is a media tart and a tool, but I can't argue with him here.

The fact is the energy from the crash has to go somewhere..if the body and chassis dont take it guess whos body will?

haha the funny thing is that the hummer has a 3 star rating for crash safety a reanult clio has 4 star lol so he would be safer in a small european car lol

@nachospole1 The ratings are done from analysis at identical speeds into a solid wall. What do you think will come off second best if a hummer and a clio collided in a road accident.

@nachospole1 Harold Scruby is a militant campainer because his stupid daughter didn't look before crossing the road and was killed. Now he is an expert!!! WTF. Check out his website and see the proposals the fuckwit want's implemented. Tow balls removed from a vehicle when not used for towing so peds don't hurt their leg in a carpark

What also isn't mentioned in this report is that Stephen's membership in the following...."Dr Wilkinson, who is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons' road trauma committee, said it was a "disgrace" more was not being done to find a solution to Tasmania's high rate of crash fatalities"

I believe if anyone would drive responsibly it would be this surgeon, as he is the one trying to put the road accident victims back together at all hours of the day and night.

I can see the 2 sides to this story, but would like share this. In May 2009, Dr Wilkinson saved my husbands life. He wasn't in a road accident, but had a very rare tumour & he worked on my husband for 3 hours & removed it safely. I also understand that this Surgeon worked 72 hours non stop during the Port Arthur Massacre, trying to save lives. I shook his hand & thanked him for saving my partners life this year and the road toll IS high in Tasmania, shocking accidents. So thanks Dr Wilkinson!
