When the economy is still in a recession and businesses cut productions, its hard for foreign workers to find work. Also many of the migrant workers work at farms. With an unemployment rate of 9.4%, Buy America, and change of regulations, some of the unemployed American workers enter farms, pushing up the wages and increasing food prices, which are already high thanks to the ethanol boom. High food prices dont affect rich families, but its a blow to poor families.

You do realize that we are talking about the immigration situation in the US? I live in an area with 50% immigrants here. Many are illegals. I see them working factory jobs, getting health care and their children being educated. Now, that doesn't bother me but the truth is there are some who just stay long enough to buy a home in Mexico and leave. Or to have a baby. Others are leaving now because of the job situation. If we are dictators someone is doing a bad job at it.
