  • This is by far the prettiest water marble you've done so far to me. My favorite color is GREEN!!

  • Love your tutorials! I'm a mental health counselor, thank u for recognizing Depression Awareness!!! :)

  • Where can I buy nail polish? :)

  • @Mmbli1 um, practically anywhere LOL - from the pharmacy to the grocery store, discounts stores or beauty supply stores =)

  • really cool....i just tried to do the water thing, but the polish just wont split...they stand still =(

  • @lulubis123 Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

  • i luv ur vids u make great tutorialz

  • were do u get the sticks

  • @happy8498 they’re available most places that sell polish, usually stocked near the files & clippers =)

  • i try it but its don't work when i drup a bit in the glasse it don't sprite out :o

  • @jolemovies Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues if i use potable water would it works then ?

  • @jolemovies not sure exactly what you mean by potable - not all drinking water is filtered, I get mine from a brita pitcher =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues with potable i mean drinking water yeah im from belgium :p so some words in english that i don't know i google it and it is not always right and i try it with drinking water and it don't works but what do you mean with filtered

  • @jolemovies like from a brita pitcher =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues from what :p

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues what is that xd

  • @jolemovies google it & you will see =)

  • When I do this when I drag all the nail polish comes with the drag

  • @btrlover0418 It sounds like the polish is starting to dry – you either have to work faster or find colors that dry slower =)

  • Is it a must to drag from one side to another? I realise you do that in all your vids.

  • @CrayonCraze it's not required - I actually don't do it in all of my vids, it just depends on what design you're doing =)

  • thanks for raising awareness!! that's so nice of you and i respect you so much more!!! (not that i didn't before) you're the best

  • What is an orange stick? Is it like the sane as a toothpick

  • @fruitnugget1 an orange stick is a wooden manicure tool, basically a long pointy stick like a big toothpick – you can use anything with a fine point =)

  • No disrespect I was jusr trying to find new ideas that's all. I love your work. Just wanted to know if it was possible.

  • I was just wondering if it was possible. It seemslike it would be a pretty neat idea to try your technique on toes.

  • @ToeTallyEbonyFeet it is possible - a few people have posted about their sucess on my fan page =)

  • Can you do a video pedicure using water marble?

  • @ToeTallyEbonyFeet sorry but I don't do nail art on my toes & don't plan on doing any pedicure vids =)

  • slp thank u for doing this im 9 and i have this problem

  • can you do a tutorial for things you should not do like what would happen if you dont clean the surface of the cup? please respond:p thanx

  • @liloanddj I do have a "fail" vid on my request list, but I usually don't want to mess up my own manicure =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues can i use cold water insted of room temp water?

  • @marrom71 polish will not spread as well in cold water. You can check out my water comparison under the Tips & Tricks playlist in the information box to see the difference =)

  • this would match a poisin ivy costume

  • i love it the eyeballs on your nails were really cool (:

  • could you make a video about wich brands are the best for water marble??

    ps:

    my englis isn't so well:P

  • @THEponkie1 there really isn't a best brand, every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well – the colors I use are always listed in the information box. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

  • Funtastic nail design!! VEry cute!!

  • Please, can you say to me which name have the both green colors, please??

    Thanks!!!

  • @Damita1h the colors are all listed in the information box =)

  • i love this tutorial its awesome i didnt know there was a depression awareness any brand polish is usable right

  • @glambert56 you can use any brand of polish, but not every color works =)

  • Ohhh, thanks !! (:

  • Plz Make Pink color Like this xDDD Just a request :D

  • @CloeJohn410 I have an all pink marble under my addicted to color playlist =)

  • I tried this and it came out in clumps, how do I get it to come out smoothly ?

  • @NicelleLOVE101 if it's clumping it may be starting to dry - you either have to work faster or find colors that dry slower =)

  • thats nice of u

  • omg gurl u have talent i so love this design thanks for the postings u r my teacher gurl so getting better at art becuz of u thank you

  • @TheLostStories she answers EVERY question u dont have to be so desperate for likes

  • PLEASE ANSWER!!!!!! IMPORTANT!!!!!!!

How do you get the nail polish to drip so well?!?!

Please like this so she can see this and also if you have the same question

  • @TheLostStories you just have to get enough polish on the brush =)

  • oh my gosh. a friend showed me these technik today, we both were amazed. now i tried it and it works. of course it's not as good as yours. (because it was the first time ;D) i'm just flashed. :D btw your videos are great. (:

  • what temprature of the water

  • @gambitbaila I always use room temperature water =)

  • Hi :) Just wondering if water marble waste a lot of polish. I would like to try water marble, but I have a tight budget and can't afford to buy too much polish. In this case, do you think it uses a lot of polish? Thank you for you time. :)

  • @uchange4me it does use more than a normal manicure, but it's worth it =) & I have plenty to spare LOL - but if you are concerned, depending on the design you are going for you can dip 2 or 3 fingers at a time to save polish, also some designs use fewer drops

  • Once I get good I'm sending you a picture ! :) thank you

  • I've looked around YouTube for videos on water marvel but you explain it BEST ! ...... I have a problem with the nail polish not spreading the right way I don't know if its the nail polish or the water how do I know what in doing wrong , most of the nail polish just stays in a dot and goes to the bottom of the cup...... And also I use most of the same name nail polish you do .... HELP ! LOL

  • @OoOLaLaNiicky Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

  • @OoOLaLaNiicky i had that SAME problem, it was just the temperature of the water. and hey COLETTE!!!! I NEED HELP! EVEN THOUGH I DO 1-2 DROPS OF POLISH PER COLOUR, WHEN I TRY TO DRAG IN MY DESIGN, IT JUST BLENDS AND LOOKS GROSS! HELP PLEASE?? O.o

  • this is amazing! you do an ausom job on nails!! =]

  • thanks for the awareness

depression is a serious illness with a high mortality rate.

    but it can be cured.

don't be shy, talk with someone you trust or visit a doctor :)

  • Okay, I know that you made a video about to water marble, basics and water temperature and what not... and even using bottled water, I have trouble with the polishes drying too fast.. like, they dry before I can shape them... how do I fix that?

  • @taylorsacracker every polish dries at a different speed & those that dry fast just aren't very good for marbling - if you can't work any quicker then you have to find colors that dry slower =) Also make sure there's not a fan or anything creating a draft on the water as that can make the polish dry faster

  • You should do a Lupus one. :)

  • @taylorsacracker I'm going to try to do more awareness nail art, but it all depends on time - I ran out of time this month to do pink for breast cancer, so I know I won't get to all I plan =)

  • Thank you for spreading the word about depression. I have MS and it's color is orange. So many people support cancer and breast cancer I think sometimes they forget there are problems where people look fine but in fact hurt badly inside. Thank you again!

  • i dont know why but when i try this my nail polish drys in the water when im making the bulls eye =( how do i make it so i have time to finish my bulls eye and have time to create the design i want?? im not taking long it can be in the water for like 30 secs and its all dried up.

  • @HotMomma1137 every polish dries at a different speed & those that dry fast just aren't very good for marbling - if you can't work any quicker then you have to find colors that dry slower =) Also make sure there's not a fan or anything creating a draft on the water as that can make the polish dry faster

  • What does it mean if the nail polish doesn't spread out in the cup??

  • @katiekat12321 either you aren't using room temperature filtered water, or the polish just isn't good for marbling =)

  • what is orange stick ???!!!

  • @rockedheart1 an orange stick is a wooden manicure tool, basically a long pointy stick like a big toothpick – you can use anything with a fine point =)

  • nice

  • last night, I tried this method but when I pulled out my finders, the design was not there, I mean the design was only on the surface which was gone underneath, How can I make sure the design is same top and bottom on the cup.

  • @heyammos it should usually be exactly the same - you may have used too much polish, I'd suggest trying with fewer drops =)

  • (cont. From previous comment)

I found someone new after that.

You have inspired me to help others with my situation because I remember at that time no one could help me. Everyone should know that it just takes time for sadness to go away, but eventually it will.

  • @Number1ChoChangFan so glad I could inspire you =) it does get better

  • (cont. From previous comment)

I thought about cutting, but I figure nothing will be as painful as a broken heart. So one day I went into my science classroom when all the student and teacher go away for lunch, and I mixed together a bunch of chemicals I didn't even know what they were. I was going to drink it but then I heard someone coming. I hid in the next room and I cried there for the rest of lunch. But i just decided to wait, I waited and it took months, but things DO get better. I found

  • Colette, you have truly inspire me.

When I was only 12 I had a boyfriend whom I loved very much. I never suspected he would ever do it, but he took my heart and shattered it to many pieces. He thought he could break up with me and I would still be happy go lucky, but he was wrong - it was the very first time in my life that I had experienced depression. I was never the same for the longest time, even schoolteacher started worry about me. I thought about cutting, but I figure nothing will be as

  • very pretty! green is my favorite color!

  • Grandioso!!!

  • every design i get doing it even if i do it wrong looks amazing

  • How do you prevent bubbles when doing water marbling?

  • @AbbiesNails My 3 main tips to prevent bubbles would be: make sure there are none in the polish before you dip you nail (you can pop those), dip in & out slowly, and make sure to get rid of any water drops on your nail - if they won't drip or shake off, you can use the corner of a paper towel to absorb them. HTH =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues

mine doesn't spread right and sometimes it just drops to the bottom like a ball

  • @musicfan248 some polish sinks because it’s too dense, other times it is from dripping it from too high up, try to stay close to the surface of the water - also are you using room temperature filtered water? keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well =)

  • I've tried to do this water marbling so many times but no matter what polish or anything I use I can't get it to work. What is the exact water/nail polish remover ratio? Everyone has the colors and pulling directions but I've yet to find anyone that explains the water mixture.

  • @CielArgenteNoir there's no polish remover in it - it's plain room temperature filtered water =)

  • Dear Collette,

I like to keep my nails long and all about the same length. But my nails break before i can get them as long as yours. Do you have any tips to keep my nails from breaking? Thanks and your tutorials are wonderful :D

  • @CMC927 I keep my nails moisturized, lots of lotion & cuticle oil & I also take a biotin supplement – check out my Nail Maintenance vid in the Tips & Trick playlist for my full routine. I do occasionally get a tear or break but you can check out my tutorial on silk wrap patching for how I save those nails =) I do "Naked Nails" posts on my blog every month or so where I talk more about like all the specific products I'm currently using.

  • @CMC927 Thanks Collette. I'll try it out :D

  • @misswansworth go to @natfeds12 to see a breast cancer nail art video

  • Could yoou do a pink ribbion for brest cancer? most of my famly has it

  • @MissWadsworth I will be doing a breast cancer vid, although I don't think I'll be doing just the traditional ribbon, right now I'm just planning a pink water marble =)

  • ow sooo pretty :D

  • I love that you did this! Thank you :)

  • thanx for doing this

  • I had no idea it was also depression awareness month, thanks.

There is also child abuse awareness this month. -Go purple!

  • @simplelittlepleasures if you want to watch I made a water marble @natfeds12 video that nobody watched yet ;~{

    Please watch it :~)

  • Thank you for sharing! I suffered from Depression for years until I finally got help. Thank you for getting the word out. It isn't shaming, it is real and horrible. People should know it. Thank you again for your voice!

  • Hi Collette!

First of thank you for GREAT videos, but i have a question. The other day i tried to do a watermarble, but when i put the nailpolish in the ball, it wouldn't spread out to the sides..I used OPI;) What did i do wrong?

  • @mayforeva Are you using room temperature filtered water? Also keep in mind that not all polish works - the brand doesn't really matter but every color is different in the water & it just takes a lot of trial & error to find the ones that work well. You want one with good pigmentation, maybe a little on the thick side but thin enough to drip & above all slow-drying. HTH =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues Okay, im gonna try again then;) Thank u for the answer:D

  • Love seeing things to promote causes other than Breast Cancer Awareness. Breast Cancer is HORRIBLE, but is there anyone who ISN'T aware of it at this point? It defeats the purpose to promote awareness of something we all know about. I enjoyed seeing several things in September for ovarian cancer awareness, and it was awesome to see this too. Thanks!!!

  • I have a question, Do you put a Top Coat on after you do a water marble? If you do, which one?

  • @DawsonChick90210 yes, I always recommend a top coat - I use Seche Vite =)

  • Great ! I love the result :-)D

  • bellissimo! colori stupendi!

  • any idea where you can find polishes in Canada besides shoppers drug mart?

  • @MIZoMIZ000SKILLROX not really, but I do know you guys have a few Ultas up there and there are many places online also =)

  • @MIZoMIZ000SKILLROX

beauty supply stores like sally's. also walmart and zellars

  • @MIZoMIZ000SKILLROX

hey there, i live in canada - in the most outskirt province actually lol... i get my polishes at walmart, shoppers, lawtons, chatters, sally's, supermarkets, etc.

    Hope this helps! :)

  • @MIZoMIZ000SKILLROX lookup nailpolishcanada as its cheap shipping for Canadians and it's fast. For stores, I go to salons, they have OPI/Zoya.

  • Very pretty! I didn't know this month was also depression awareness month. It is something that should be addressed more publicly.

  • im young and have depression, i have to go to therapy weekly

  • November is American Diabetes Month, was hoping I could request a video for then, the color for the ribbon is grey but the most common symbol is the Universal blue circle symbol for diabetes. You got me obsessed with doing my nails and now I am addicted to buying polish lol, I would love if you could do this request for me! It would mean a lot!

  • @lucidmadhatter I do a lot of holiday nail art in December, but I have a lot of people in my family with diabetes so I'll definitely add it to my request list =)

  • @lucidmadhatter oops, for some reason I read that as December, not November LOL - I don't do much for Thanksgiving so I should have plenty of time to fit it in =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues Thanks tons if you do, I am looking forward to your awesome ideas :)

  • u don't do acrylic?

  • @meganluvguitar no =)

  • I've already tried several times and it worked well (so thank you very much for the great video ♥) but I can not make as many circles like you, because the colors are not so spread out as in your video :(

  • @IxXxSystemxXxI every color is different in the water, and I use a different amount of drops almost every design =)

  • beautiful! <3

  • are they your real nails ?

  • @rebeccaasiaan yes, my nails are natural =)

  • u said a couple of layers of the lighter polish .. how long does it take for them to be dry?

  • @maaayUs not long, just a few minutes - it doesn't have to be completely dry, just dry enough that it doesn't make the final design sloppy =)

  • what would happen if u didn't put the drop correctly into the middle of the previous drop? would it mess up the design?

  • @maaayUs it wouldn't form the bullseye & would effect the final design, but you could still make a marble with it =)

  • so have you tried the crackle nailpolishes in the marbling technique? :)

  • @maaayUs they dry too fast to marble with =)

  • Those 2 greens are so pretty together. && thank you for doing this video, people don't realize just how serious depression really is:) I failed at trying this though. Hahah:)

  • I love that you made this video. Depression is serious. thank you :)

  • What is the temperature for room temperature water?

  • @Syuensparklestream it's room temperature fitered water =)

  • This is so sweet of you!

Why not send it in to one of the organizations that help people with depression?

Thumbs up if you think she should send it in!

  • @WhatAPolish that's an interesting idea, I do at least one manicure for it every year but I've never thought of sending them in anywhere =)

  • Comment removed

  • just recently being diagnosed with depression i had no idea this existed..thanks for bringing it to everybodys attention..including me

  • Many people don't pay as much attention to Depression Awareness so I thank you for spreading awareness in a beautiful way :)

  • I luv how u do this

  • U use to much nail polish I only use 4 or 5 drops and it still looks nice and if u blow lightly on the surface of the water after dipping ur fingers u can clean out the access polish easily and why do u call ur stick an orange stick it's not orange

  • @MsHamburgerpizza She doesn't use "too much" nail polish, it's her preference and choice to make. It's a cuticle stick but can also be called an orange stick. The color is not a factor in determining the name of it.

  • @MsHamburgerpizza the number of drops changes the final design, I wanted a lot of rings for a lot of detail. Usually the surface is plenty dry & easy to clean & blowing only makes a loud sound on the video - & it's called an orange stick because they used to be made from orange wood =)

  • Wow! I love the design and the info! I did not know that October is the "Depresion Awareness" month! Thanks!

  • my watermarble designs always get bubbles in them :C any tips or ideas why?

  • @ImMayrarose My 3 main tips to prevent bubbles would be: make sure there are none in the polish before you dip you nail (you can pop those), dip in & out slowly, and make sure to get rid of any water drops on your nail - if they won't drip or shake off, you can use the corner of a paper towel to absorb them. HTH =)

  • Thank you for doing this, Colette. I've battled depression since I was a child and I had no idea about this month. I'm going to so something on my channel too so that the word can get to a few more people. I want people to know it's nothing to be ashamed about. It's not a sign of weakness. In fact, my friends who also suffer with this are some of the strongest people I know. And I feel like I am strong, not in spite of it, but because of it. -3

  • @FibercrazedBeauty You're welcome & thanks for helping to spread the word =)

  • I love you water marbles because they're amazing, but also as someone struggling with depression/self injury/eating disorders. It affects me everyday tremendously but doing my nails has always been soothing and distracting to me in the best possible way.

Thank you so much for bringing some light in the dark <3

  • @madidancer121 I'm glad I could be a pleasant distraction =) sometimes that's just the fix, just a little something positive to break through the darkness

  • @madidancer121 You made me cry because I can so relate. God bless you.

  • Can you also do a pink one for Breast Cancer! I love your videos they're amazing AMAZING!

  • @BIEBERFEVEROCKZ as I mentioned in the vid, that will be coming later this month =)

  • i think its nice that ur spreading the word about both depression awarness and breast cancer!

  • I like this video not only because its a great water marble as you always do, but because your right about the depression awareness month and how nothing else gets attention brought to it during october. I am hispanic and october is hispanic heratige month but you'd never know it. I also have thyroid cancer, and there is no month for that or any awareness for it so thank you for doing this for something other than breast cancer awareness month.

  • Omg its so funny cause i decided to paint my nails pink and green cause its my two fave colors and it worked out to be really good :D

  • Cool

  • My nails I painted green not knwin the cause two days ago thanks for tellin me and my nails came out to b beautiful

  • Thank you so much for doing this. I suffer from depression and was considered crazy when I was in high school. I just wasn't understood then. Thank you so much!!

  • These colors are fabulous!

  • online it shows purple though, so now I'm not sure :/ but in Avon the nail polish and everything else in support for Domestic Violence it is Navy Blue

  • this has npothing to do with this video but all of the sally hansen extereme wear nail polish works

  • when i try to do this it rips and like dries to fast ,why is this happening?

  • @baybay5699 every polish dries at a different speed & those that dry fast just aren't very good for marbling - if you can't work any quicker then you have to find colors that dry slower =) Also make sure there's not a fan or anything creating a draft on the water as that can make the polish dry faster
