YES! HELP ME OUT! Willie is always screaming yet, no one hears. How sad he is. But yes, if we didn't have him, Barnabas wouldn't have been so scary in the early episodes. What one character can do for a show so intense and profound. Thank God for Willie!

Just had to comment, since I've been watching & rewatching rofl. I went through a huge Dark Shadows obsession when I was about 14 (when SciFi was replaying the series through the 90's) I instantly fell in love with Willie, because of how complex his character was. I HAVE to get my hands on some of the new DS dramas, namely "Echoes of Insanity" which focuses on Willie! Truly, John Karlen's best character. Applause!! I'm afraid I'm obsessing again. LOL.

Willie Loomis is truly an amazing character- John Karlen did an incredible job by making this criminal multi-dimensional and pitiful enough to actually feel sorry for. He's definitely my favorite of the series as well- it wasn't the same in the later series when they altered the characters around and he wasn't as much as a focus.Willie is part of what made Barnabas so frightening in these early episodes. I'm glad you enjoyed my video enough to rewatch it! :D

I so love this vid! This has to be the best vignette that explains the emotional angst of Willy Loomis. As a kid, I never liked Willy because I couldn't understand his plight...or his storyline. However, with your keen eye for scoring and editing, John Karlan's outstanding performance throughout the shows run is as praise worthy as your video skills. Karlen should have gotten an Emmy every season.

Yeah, I love that character. Too bad in the later series he's not in it that much. John Karlen just plays other characters. But I miss Willie!

Willie was a badazz when he arrived to Collinsport but it wasnt to long after that he finally unleashed and met Barnabas!!

Hey he really threw David Collins out all right didn't he. I'm surprised David Henesy didn't break something. Willie really broke bad on him. I remember laughing so hard when I first saw that scene! The acting on DS was so phenominally good, if they'd had Daytime Emmys back then, some DS actors would surely have recieved some, thats for sure!
