the first song i ever heard in Arabic was when i went to the taste of lebanon festival with my mom. they had a table with cd's, i asked who was the best singer with good dancing songs, they recomended her cd. A few years later she died, but i didn't even know until a year later during my research project on ellis island when i did lebanon. I searched her and thats when i found out.
