@daviddedu i think he is using a built in kit. setting threshold and sensitivity, you can get great sound of these kits. This doesnt seem to have done any of that.

@cvcgac sadly for you to know, this si what funk drums sound like (basic rock with more emphasis on the quarter, sometimes mroe on the 8th)

@goodnamepending no see there you're wrong. In funk the drummer listens more to the melody and plays to that, for example you dont always hit the snare on the 2 and 4, but like here you play the snare on parts where the guitar plays on the offbeats...

@cvcgac exatcly why i said more emphasis on the 8th notes (not making it a reggae beat but using ghost notes with the snare, and yes u can have 2 and 4 snare with rim shots, and ghost notes on the 8th notes to accent with the guitar so i dont see how im wrong you just dont seem to have theory in your head)

@Anonymous122131 Those are an American Audio. No, i dont like them they are more like for a DJ or something. Now im using a Skullcandy TI Headphones, they are good. I think you should look into AKG or Bose headphones. Cheers!

Why do people get their panties in such a bunch about folks playing electronic drums? Obviously we all have (or want to have) acoustic sets, but things like space, noise level, etc preclude the use of acoustic drums in some cases. Anyway, sick playing.

yeah the track was funky - but not the drums - if you'd only play the drums you would think it's a Rock songs he's playing to. I don't say that you can't drum, I think you did it pretty well, but to play funk - try to include more doubles and ghosts and don't play the hihat like a rock hat, try to use it like an instrument on its own - some kind of hi-hat / Snare paradidle would sound much better - just try it

Try to use more syncopated beats rather than just hold the same rhythm the whole time and adding in a fill every measure. However, timing was solid. Nice job!

It's not only for the sake of taking side, but I find your drumming funky in this video. I like the interplay wetween the HH and the snare. I also agree about your not using the toms much, but again, it was intende to be a funk drums video,who needs more than the sacred three elements? ;)
