Now, if a church in California were to do gay marriage, which they refer to as a sacred union no less than regular marriage, that is their religious beliefs, which are protected by the First Amendment. Find one such church in California, and 8 is dead.

This is the double standard ot these pro-Gay/pro-Liberal Holywood agenda. When Gore won the popular vote (meaning by majority), they were mad and they even wanted a COnstitutional amendment to do away with the Electoral College. Now that the MAJORITY of Californians, Mormons and non-mormons voted for Prop 8, they want to repel the popular vote. Please make up your mind people.

it is perfectly fine for you to live your life the way the bible says. however, as a country based on religious freedom, all people should have the right to live their lives according to their own beliefs. religious freedom means that the christian Bible should not be used to govern EVERYONE. as a christian, it is perfectly fine for you to follow the teachings in the bible. As a human, I follow the teachings of Love and Truth. That is my choice and it should be respected.

Not to 80% of the people on earth. Christianity only account for 20% of the world's beliefs. Why do you feel you have to right to impose your beliefs on everyone else? Religious freedom also includes freedom from other people imposing their religion on you. There's a good reason your personal interpretation of 'God's Law' is not the law enforced by government.
